Easily the best hot dog place in the area, if not the entire city. Great choices available at a great price.

Best hot dogs in the area… the guy that runs it is super nice, he makes u feel like you’re at home and he is a genius when it comes to concocting delicious food. I’m not sure if it’s mentioned but he allows byob… what goes better with a hot dog than a nice cold beer… if u still have room PLEASE try the cherry bomb. Wish there was another location in philly somewhere, this place deserves to BLOWUP! Def my favorite Chicago dog, he has the neon green relish and the celery salt. mmmmmm!

My husband and I were looking for a new local spot and stumbled onto this place! Amazing combinations on the hot dogs, some of which sound weird but the flavors just work. My husband had the Jersey and he ate the whole foot long. We also tried the corn chowder which was great! The hot dogs are very large and toppings overflowing but try and save some room for dessert because the donut ice cream sandwich is worth the trip alone! I almost ordered a second but held back!

A little on the pricey side but the dogs are good and the service is impeccable. I wish they offered ¼lbs dogs and shredded cheese though.

What a great little joint, and super reasonably priced. We couldn’t decide, so the two of us ordered three sandwiches, two sodas and a soup dipper(genius, by the way! why don’t all places sell sandwich dippers?) and the total was less than $ 15! What a steal! Cilantro, tomato and cheese, buffalo chicken, and a legit pretzel roll grilled cheese were all amazing, especially adding on that $ 1 tomato soup dipper. Small business and looks to be run by one guy. Quaint, delish, inexpensive and a place I’d frequent often if we lived in the area. We searched locally for a place on Unilocal and this was the highest rated in the area. We see why. Superb.

Great little place with a diverse menu for hot dogs, that sounds funny. Perfect place for kids. I don’t like hotdogs, but the chili cheese crunch was really good. Owner is super nice!

I concur with other reviewers, this place is legit. Yes, it’s easy to miss on that stretch of Bustleton Pike. Yes, the sign is a little off putting. However, these are the best hot dogs you’re going to get in the Philly area; better than some food truck deeper in the city, believe me. There’s no crowd here on week days, but watch out on Saturdays, that’s when everyone wants their Cheese Dawgs fix before they shut down on Sundays. Now, I’ve never had a Chicago dog in Chicago, but I’ve had a few imitations in Philly. Their Chicago dog here takes the cake. All their ingredients are fresh and mostly true to the original, with the exception of no poppy seed bun. Their Philly dog is unique and overflowing with pepper hash, making it a messy but enjoyable experience. While the grilled cheese isn’t the star of the show here, they are a solid addition to the menu and very tasty. The cilantro grilled cheese is an interesting mix of ingredients you’d find at a more upscale joint but for a decent price. I like it, it’s different. I like this place mostly because it’s different — there aren’t many luncheonettes in the area and even with a smaller menu everything served here is good. It’s obvious the owner really cares about his business and will go out of the way to make the meal enjoyable for you. I hope he succeeds, and if the reviews here are any indication, there’s already been a lot of success for this little storefront in Feasterville.

Stopped in with the wife. she got a foot long with chilli and coffee, and was extremely pleased with it. I got the Beast«A 2 foot hot dog with your choice of topping on a hoagie roll» If you eat it in under 10 minute you get a free t shirt the irony is it only a xl. So the food was really good and I surprised my wife by ordering a Grilled Ice Cream which is 2 slices of grilled pound cake with a ice cream center. I hope to be back there soon. O and the owner is super nice.

I have had this place bookmarked for the longest time. And always came back to Unilocal to read all the great Reviews everyone wrote about cheese Dawgs. So today I finally desided to stop in to try it out. I was welcomed by the owner such a nice guy to speak with, while trying to deside what I was going to order. Prices are great, the quality of food perfect, I now see why everyone talks about how good there soup and hot dogs are. Because it really is true, it is. I’m this guy that use to like to go to one of those mini corner convenience stores and pick up a few hotdogs. But not anymore. After eating cheese Dawgs I now found my new place for a good dog. The foot long Chicago Dawg and a cup of hot chili with shredded cheese add to the top and Fritos on the bottom of it. And sure Was out of this world. And worth getting. Mabe even the next time, I’ll try out there grilled cheese donut. Does look good. Overall this was a great experience and recommend this place to anyone looking to have a good hotdog, soup or even a grilled cheese sandwich. There is nice size TV inside to watch while enjoying your food. There really are some great options on the menu to choose from!

When you first walk into Cheese Dawgs, you might wonder what the selection of fine cooking magazines for customers to peruse while waiting for their order is doing in a place that specializes in simple fare: hotdogs and grilled cheese. By the time your food arrives, you might wonder why this place isn’t featured on the cover of those magazines. The genial owner of Cheese Dawgs offers an inventive selection of dogs and grilled cheese sandwiches. The Chicago-style dog could compete with the very best in the Windy City. The Wild Bill is an indulgent combination of creamy mac and cheese and crispy Fritos. The grilled cheese sandwiches are also inventive(cilantro!) and delicious. By all means try the Beast challenge if you want your picture on the wall of fame. But be sure to come back for the simple childhood favorites prepared with inventive flair. Good food. Good service. Good value.

Omg this place is awesome! We came here before we stopped by Feeney’s. It was sooo good I ordered the Mac Dawg which was Mac and cheese and a hotdog. The bun was hot and crunchy it was so tasty, my little brother ordered the Jersey but without coleslaw. And then my mom ordered the Chili Crunch which is a hotdog with chili cheese with Fritos but she had the Fritos on the side. She also ordered a Lobster Bisque soup which was tasty too. We then saw the menu and really wanted to try the Grilled cheese donut! Omg yes it was amazing and yes you should try it. Very tasty, I thought it was going to be bigger but it’s okay it was just enough :) def a place to stop by! I love hot dogs and I want to try every hot dog place in PA :)

I have driven passed this place a thousand times and have never thought to stop in. One day we were looking for a fast and yummy lunch and decided to give this place a try. My boyfriend got a jersey foot long. I got a chili crunch regular. We took them out, got them home and chowed down. The chili crunch was absolutely amazing! The bun, the hot dog and the chili and Fritos was a perfect combination. I regretted immediately getting the regular size. I wanted more! My boyfriends hot dog was gone in under two minutes. He thoroughly enjoyed it. This is definitely a place I would go back to. I’m craving it just writing about it.

This is a small, humble restaurant with two main foci: Hot dogs and grilled cheese sandwiches. Conceived by a dad and inspired by his children’s favorite foodstuffs, which are. .. wait for it, wait for it. .. Dogs and grilled cheese. And what is not to love about an ooey-gooey grilled cheese sandwich(unless it were made with Limburger, I suppose). Cheese Dawgs offers a great assortment of dogs, and if you are a hot dog eater, you will find at least several that will tickle your taste buds. Mr. M had the Texas Tommy and tomato soup and swooned. Meanwhile, I had a most delicious classic grilled cheese on rye with a cup of chicken, corn chowder. Both were terrific. This is a recessionista’s kind of place, too: Lunch for two was around $ 12. Shout out to the Unilocalers who led us here. Thanks a ton!

Today I had a Jersey dawg, American cheese, bacon & coleslaw. It was the best hot dog I have had in a while.

It’s unanimous! Cheese Dawgs is a great joint for Hot Dawgs, Grilled Cheese, and multiple combinations thereof. Unassumingly sitting in a old Bustleton Pike strip, just south of Street Road, Rick Tyrrell has created a little bit of nostalgia for those of us who grew up loving hot dogs(frankfurters if you are from the New York area). While the décor is minimalist, it has everything needed for a legitimate happy meal. With Bonanza playing on the TV, Rick introduced me to his shop and menu; recommending one of his newer items, the Grilled Cheese Dawg. It is what is sounds like; a Grill Hot Dog wrapped inside a Grilled Cheese Sandwich. All beef and well spiced(but not as much as Hebrew National garlicy meat tubes), it was an obvious«next step» in the evolution of two beloved American food groups. Symbiosis. Tasty and fun. With a side of Corn Chowder(perhaps, a little too thick, but still good), and a Stewart’s Black Cherry Wishniak washdown, this was a fast lunch that had me smiling throughout. I hated to leave my childhood again, but knew it had to be. To make it easier, Rick gave me a $ 5 off coupon for ordering my next meal online in advance of arrival, and made a last recommendation of his new Bacon Buttercup. What’s that? Close your eyes… Imagine the best homemade Peanut Butter Cup — way better than Reece’s…then add bacon. Peanut Butter, Chocolate and Bacon. Stop drooling! If that alone does not get you into your car and driving toward Bustleton, then go for the Dawgs and Grilled Cheese. Either way, you can’t lose.
