Best carnitas ever! People actually have these carnitas shipped! Great fish tacos. A serendipitous find in rural West Virginia. Service was excellent; good margaritas.

First time back since the restaurant moved. What a night and day difference. We came in with a large party but were the only table there for a while and they knew 5 hrs in advance we were coming. It still took 40 mins for the first dishes to come out… And another 20 mins before everyone had their meals/the sides that went with our meals. Several were done before my meal came out! The service was fine but it’s very obvious that the kitchen is out of control. I ordered the smoked chicken wrap, which came out as a sandwich — no problem. However, it was less than appetizing. Bread was dry, and a whole(rubbery) chicken breast was placed at the end of my bread. There is no way this chicken was smoked. I ate about 3 bites and gave up. Some at my table were OK with their food but many were disappointed. Sadly it was unanimous that the Diogi’s magic is gone.

Came in at 7:30 on a Sunday night with a group of 14 during what should be peak time and yet only 1 table eating(and what appeared to be only one waitress and one cook!) We were here visiting on a whitewater trip and the group I was with ignored my protest based on previous Unilocal reviews! Menu consisted of 3 pieces of paper stapled together to make a ‘book’. Dinner took at least 30min for the first entrees to come out. When the waitress was asked what sides she liked, she responded that she didn’t really like Mexican food! While my shrimp fajitas did earn them a star back… I would not and can not recommend this place! If there is another Mexican place in town… go there! It could hardly be worse.

Let me start by saying I’ve been eating here since this place opened and it’s always one of the highlights of my trip to Fayetteville. Apparently someone bought out the previous owner and then moved the restaurant. Now the lack luster atmosphere is lit with harsh florescent lights, I had two margaritas seemingly completely lacking in both alcohol and taste, although there was plenty of ice. The carnitas, previously a signature dish, we’re in parts charred and in others nearly raw. The salsa was tasteless. A horrible experience which I couldn’t wait to finish. It’s very sad after years of amazing food and drinks to think that I’ll never return.

My significant otter and I were on our way back from a Labour Day weekend and decided to stop in Fayetteville for dinner. We hadn’t been to Diogi’s in a while and decided to give it a go. The restaurant was nearly empty, but we arrived at an odd time between the usual lunch and dinner hours. Their salsa is some of the best that I’ve ever had at a restaurant. They were out of my favorite dish — carnitas — so I opted for a steak chimichanga. I’ve found another dish I love there! The otter got a colorful, flavorful chicken dish. We also ordered the chicharronnes, which were delicious and served with a nicely spiced sauce. Service was prompt and friendly.

I’m in the mountains of West Virginia on a whitewater rafting trip. There just isn’t a lot of great food here — I’m keeping it real. I ask a local where the locals go and she recommended a pizza joint — which had a 1.5 hour wait — and a BBQ place that I have been to before and sucks. So we go to Diogi’s, which we had been to 2 – 3 years before at the old location and liked. Diogi’s didn’t disappoint this time either. The fried pork skin appetizer is delicious. The guacamole and queso with chorizo appetizers are also very, very good. The entrees of carnitas, pollo loco, and other stuff were all excellent. Sure, you can get more authentic Mexican food elsewhere, but you’re in West Virginia where the smoking rate, obesity rate, and high school dropouts rates are all #1 in the country so this place is pretty damn good.

New location across 19 opposite DQ. Great Mexican food. Part of the original batch of good Fayetteville eats. They do great burgers too. Staff is friendly, attentive. They have a full bar with fun cocktails served out of mason jars. Tough to go wrong with this place.

After the past few visits to the new Diogi’s, I had to take down my five star review and go drastically down to a one star rating. I am not sure what has happened since June, but the place has gone completely down hill. The new staff are incredibly unprofessional. Last night, we accompanied a group and it took two hours for our food to arrive. The staff did not even explain or apologize the wait, and the place was dead. A member of our party with a food allergy, after waiting for two hours, recieved a dish full of the ingredient to which she is allergic. The server gave her a side to tide her over while her meal was being re-prepared, which turned out to also contain the item to which she is allergic. On our second most recent visit, my husband recieved shrimp tacos full of shrimp with the tails still on. The past three times we’ve visited, the staff have treated the place like their living room and argue in front of customers, leave cleaning supplies out on tables and dress in an unsanitary, slovenly manner. We recently learned that the new Diogi’s is not even locally owned. Save yourself the bad experience and head to Gumbo’s, Pies, Secret Sandwich or Dirty Ernies and send your money back into the local economy.

The food does not compare to the old Restaurant something changed and it did not changed for good. Food was somewhat ok.
