After several poor showings of the food recently — an egg sandwich that was just runny and inedible, stale croissants, watery coffee, and counter staff that were so inefficient that each person would stand in line for twice as long as necessary — I thought I’d give the place one more try. Overall, I’ve found the food here to be inconsistent — occasionally incredible and worth the return, but more often than not, poorly prepared and poorly served. Today, I park my car in the back lot and go to walk around to the front and enter in the front door(after mailing a letter at a nearby mailbox). A staff member comes out, screaming, «You can’t park there! You can’t park there!» I try to explain to her that I’m coming inside. I just need to mail my letter. She’s too busy screaming(yes, screaming) to listen. Crazy. It must makes me wonder if they get lots of complaints and have a poor relationship with their neighbors(which has been the case in the past). Why yell with such force unless you’ve had plenty of similar encounters? Honestly, there are so many other places nearby to go. Why would waste time and money with this place… so no more for me. What jerks.

It’s an all right place to eat if you’re not in a hurry so much customers there can be rude and then I might skip you

The food here is great, the service is always friendly. Though the food sometimes does take longer to come out. Would definitely recommend this place for salad and sandwiches, it is what Panera would be if their food was more fresh and was locally owned. Their baked goods are really good too, and they actually have gluten free options if you need it. My favorite meal here is their pastrami or corned beef sandwiches unfortunately, its only run as a special.

Fantastic place! Very laid back atmosphere and the almond croissant here is huge and delicious! I love the presentation of their pastries– you will want one of everything! Prices are also super reasonable. Definitely take the other reviewers’ tips and ask that your pastry be warmed up for extra yumminess. Also, their moon pies are massive– the peanut butter one had 2 oatmeal type cookies on each end that were a tad dry(almost like scones), but the frosting in the middle makes up for it! This is a great addition to the area and we can’t wait to go back for lunch!

So impressed with everything we ordered, I got a turkey melt and my boyfriend got a turkey sandwich(real sliced turkey, not lunch meat!) Also had a cinnamon bun, delicious!

Consistently one of my favorite places to eat in the«village» of Fayetteville. Their daily specials are always top notch. I find myself particularly partial to their fresh vegetable sides and fresh green salads. The fresh breads and pastries are exquisite especially the au bu pain chocolate croissant. My favorite lunch items here are the Reuben sandwich and the quiche.

While visiting Syracuse University and the area for Parents weekend we of course topped up ours sons supplies at the Target in Fayetteville. Quite hungry after the process we stumbled onto the wonderful café(Brooklea). The food choices ranged from what you would expect to some very interesting sandwiches, etc. What sets Brooklea apart is the quality of the ingredients, the fresh breads and the interesting choices. The sweet potato salad was amazing, as was the Pastrami and corned beef sandwiches. It is worth a visit for sure! BTY the service was very friendly and helpful. Enjoy!

Stopped in for lunch based on reviews. A nice spot with good food! Had one of the specials, a wrap with roast beef and Gorgonzola. Very tasty. Chose a sweet potato salad as a side. I was thinking potato salad that was sweet, but it was made with sweet potatoes. Clever and interesting.

Don’t get the scrambled tofu. This place has no idea how to make it. I was served large cubes of tofu with onions and peppers(my choice of veggies). I had to take it home and make a stir fry! Why have something on the menu you don’t know how to make? Huge disappointment.

People of Syracuse listen, and listen good! We are enjoying probably the best food in a while! Salmon, Turkey soup at the Brooklea Café is beyond good. This used to be a so so place, but with the new chef… yummy!

You should try their chicken and grilled veggies panini. It is without a question a much have. EXCEPTIONAL. The home made toasted ciabatta, the fresh gilled chicken, the veggies and the pesto. There is nothing better!

Sometimes with a bakery you have a concentration on pastries and the other food is just OK. Brooklea has done it right though, and EVERYTHING is good. From the perfect macaroons to tender chicken in sandwiches, I’ve never had a bad meal there. The lox and bagel is the best I’ve had in the area. The new owner(since it’s transitioned from being Pascale’s) is a really nice guy and obviously very concerned with customers being happy. I’m lucky to live close enough to be a regular here.

Great place to have a nice cup of very good coffee. Also had an omelette which was excellent! Their pastries are awesome though. Cinnamon rolls are homemade and very, very good. Ask them to warm them up if they are not hot already and they will be happy to. The owner was personally there and very interactive with all guests making sure they are enjoying their experience. Great job!

My rating for this place just went way down! After frequenting this establishment numerous times and even on a regular basis preordering their granola bars a dozen at a time I was shocked to learn they had changed the recipe drastically! Only they never told me. Now I understand being creative and them previously changing from dried cranberries to dried blueberries but to completely change the consistency(now adding even puffed rice a.k.a. Rice Krispies) in a recipe w/o telling your customer is unacceptable. I called to complain but apparently they can’t take the time to return calls! At $ 2 a bar I expect the same item that I fell in love with or I never would have continued ordering them by the dozens! For all of you out there, I hear there is a new French bakery opening on Erie Blvd. in Dewitt!

Great menu and consistently delicious. Wonderful baked goods. Could improve the ambience of the seating area, but overall a wonderful addition to Fayetteville. New favorite lunch spot.

Truly brilliant pastrami on rye! The corned beef on rye, and sides were all great as well, though they were all but eclipsed by the pastrami. Served on seedless rye, which is a fantastic plus for me as someone who hates caraway. Outstanding macarons(lemon lime and chocolate) melted in the mouth. The service was very slow, but their friendliness about made up for it.

My sandwich was good, I would have preferred it slightly toasted even though the corned beef was warm. Thumbs down on the sweet potato salad. The homemade pickle had a great consistency but was missing something, it was just salty. I was a little disappointed in the food although I think it could easily be improved.
