Very friendly, helpful staff. You don’t need to be have celiac or be gluten free to enjoy the food here.

Amazing food and service! My husband and I went with our three kids for lunch and dessert. We all loved the food. I got the carrot cake cupcake and it was definitely the best gluten free cupcake I have ever eaten. We will stop here whenever we are going through Syracuse.

I was very surprised to read some of the negative reviews about this place. Going in with a friend with gluten intolerance, I was skeptical. I don’t have an allergy and in the past gluten free foods haven’t been the most delicious in my option. That having been said, this place knocked it out of the park. I got the meat lovers pizza. It came with pepperoni, sausage, ham, and meatballs on it. Not for the vegetarians out there but for everyone else it was delicious. I honestly couldn’t even tell there wasn’t gluten in it. Had a chance to try the pasta and meatballs as well. Not as good as the pizza but it did have a solid portion size. Regardless of what you get, it was clean, reasonably priced, and the staff was super friendly. I’ll for sure be making the trip over again.

I used to love Yum Yum’s and frequented their old location. I really don’t like the vibe of their new location — the fluorescent lighting and unfriendly waitstaff make it an unpleasant place to unwind and enjoy a meal. I always loved their lunch food, and it is still fairly good, but their baked goods have gone so far downhill. Last time I went I tried two of their pies, a hot chocolate pie and a cannoli pie, and it was the biggest disappointment EVER. Instead of pastry pie crust(which I know they used to have because I had previously had their tollhouse pie at the old location), they had a strange tasting granola-ish pie crust. The fillings were just what tasted like fake whipped cream. It was genuinely the worst dessert I have *ever* had out anywhere. They also have very few options now in terms of baked goods. On top of that, my friend ordered a dozen cupcakes from them for a friend’s birthday and they charged her 42 dollars — not sure if that’s their normal rate for a dozen cupcakes, but I was gobsmacked. I’m from Boston and the best gluten free bakeries in Boston charge 30 – 35 for a dozen GF cupcakes — and they are MUCH tastier. I’m so sad and disappointed that a restaurant I used to love is somewhere that I never, ever go to anymore.

I have been to Yum Yum’s on several occasions at the new location and the old location. They should have stayed at the old location which was right off Erie Blvd. This new location is so out of the way. Food portions are very small and they take a long time to cook. The owner never says hello to everyone she just stands there not welcoming at all. If I had my own restaurant I would be greeting everyone who came in. I would not recommend this place.

The owner was very nice. I explained I am new to gluten free and have been experimenting at home. He took the time to explain what was gluten free, dairy free… I asked him for suggestions. He and the lady baker suggested several things. My favorite was the maple bacon muffin. My wife was more impressed with the lemon cake balls. I also enjoyed them. I have one more treat to try tomorrow but saw several bad reviews couldn’t wait to share my experience. Great experience for me. Can’t wait to try more.

Their sandwiches and cupcakes are the greatest. Their bread is wonderful, better than I remember normal non-gf bread tasting like way back in the day. The Tuscan chicken sandwich is my favorite.

My sister and I currently live in Nashville, but we were in Syracuse visiting our family for the holidays. We are both gluten free. We came to Yum-Yum’s for lunch with our parents(who are not gluten free) and we all LOVED it!!! We ended up ordering a lot of different things from the menu(pizza, paninis, meatball sub, the starter platter, and pastries of course!) and seriously EVERYTHING was amazing. Even my parents who are not gluten free were SO impressed. We ended up buying a pizza shell to make breakfast pizza the next day and it came out so good! We don’t have anything like this in Nashville so it was really nice to be able to look at a menu and order anything we wanted(and not worry about gluten contamination). We ordered a variety of desserts and they were all absolutely delicious. Everyone who works there is super sweet too! The owner came over and offered a complimentary appetizer and made sure we were happy with our food. People of Syracuse: you are so lucky to have this place in your city!

We went here this evening. What a treat! My son can not eat gluten, so it is really wonderful that we could eat as a family, in a restaurant, with no worries of cross contamination of food. The food was delicious! The deserts were fabulous. We definitely will be returning. Our waitress was also very sweet. Whole experience was wonderful. Wish they would move to long Island.

Excellent food, especially the Wood Grilled Pizzas. Baked goods are also tasty. Nice newly renovated space. Polite friendly staff, and reasonably priced. Great for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

I went the day after they opened and had the BEST pancakes. They were fluffy and delicious. I got home fries with them which were also very good. Took a piece of the chocolate bundt cake which was worth every bite. Can’t wait to go back and try the pizza!

About a week after this restaurant opened at the East Syracuse location, a friend and I went here for lunch and were EXTREMELY dissatisfied with our experience. We ordered tomato and cheese panini, and waited 55MINUTES before they were delivered to our table(not exaggerating, I watched the clock.) The reason given by our waitress: «there’s a bunch of boys working in the kitchen today,» as if that made any sense. I enjoyed what there was of my sandwich. The bread was homemade and very good. However, the sandwich was very small, not much bigger than a deck of playing cards. For the price of $ 7.95, we expected more food. French fries came with the sandwich: mine were good, my friend’s were heavily salted and inedible! We mentioned our complaints to the waitress, who apologized profusely and repeatedly, but made no effort to adjust the bill or maybe offer a complimentary dessert to make up for service problems. And to top themselves off, the restaurant’s blog now shows a post(supposedly written by «their caring employees») asking for donations! The owners can’t pay their bills and are hitting up other people to pay(literally) for their bad judgment. Unbelievable. There’s no excuse for making patrons wait 55 minutes for a sandwich and then hitting them up for more money afterwards. This bakery might be good for a pastry to-go, but definitely not good for sit-down service of any kind. These people do not deserve my business and will not get it again.
