A Taste of New York- deli n cafe

Came here for brunch with my wife and 2 friends & we ended up staying for about a hour and a half talking eating brunch & buying another meal to go later because everything we ate was amazing! While waiting for our second order we started taking pics & Alex the owner joined us for the fun id recommend it to anyone ! Good food, Good Prices, & an general good time.

I had A Taste of NY cater for me today and I was very impressed! Everything was SO delicious and fresh, everyone was raving about it. Alex, the owner, was so great to work with too. He included a free plate of cookies because it was my first order which I thought was a wonderful gesture. Will definitely continue to order from here!

This place is great, the owner Alex definitely took care of my family. I had no idea what I wanted, just told him chicken and let him pick, got a chicken pesto panini and it was awesome, came with a side sauce that really kicked it up. Wife got the gyro that she was happy with and the kids split a spaghetti and meatball dish that I had to make my kids stop eating because it was a big portion and didn’t want their stomachs overfilled. We told the owner it was our first time and he even came over and gave us some cookies without charge. Fed a family of 4 for 25 bucks and it was really good. Will be going back to explore the menu. Also he just updated the menu so it has a lot of new items.

Their pasta is better than most Italian restaurants. Ingredients are fresh, with true Italian flavor… and that’s just the pasta!
If you like desserts, you’re going to be in heaven. They have a wide array of fresh pastry.
The food and service speak for themselves. You can tell they have true New York pride in their Café/​deli and that’s what keeps me coming back… the smoothies & blended coffee, Perrier mineral water, they’re such an great addition to the entirety of the menu.
Amazing breakfast, delicious build-​your-​own salad… I can’t say enough good things about this place. Please check it out and support local business.

My favorite lunch place! The panini with artichokes is really good! Tried a cannoli today and theirs is one of the best I have eaten. This is one of my best kept secrets in Fayetteville!

My goodness, what a find! Who would of thought such a great eatery be hidden behind a gas station? No, I am not that big on going to delis for lunch or dinner. I am not a huge sandwich fan. This was my 2^nd visit but had one lunch brought back as I was not able to go there physically.
Found the place as a colleague from work raved about it and wind up going there earlier this week. They have Gyros on the menu and gave that a try for my first meal. Ok, it wasn’t bad. Mind you, I have had many Gyros while living in Germany and while going back and forth to Germany on business. Needless to say, based on my previous eatings, this one was no where near as good as those. But, to be fair, it was not bad.
My colleague brought back a Philly Cheese Steak with fries for my second experience. One again, not the best of all time, but it was very good.
Today was a different story. I couldn’t decide what to get, then I noticed the sign for make your own pasta. Just so you know, I love pasta, however, my doctor told me to stay away. Oh well, since he wasn’t around I have ordered penne pasta with spicy Arrabiata sauce. This included, Tuscan meatballs, spinach, roasted peppers, mushrooms and black olives.
When the pasta came, I couldn’t believe the portion size. I am sure I’ve ordered for one, but, sure looked like it was for two. Yes, I ate it all. It was just too good to waste any.
I am told it was the owner who did the cooking and he was very nice as was the lady behind the counter.
There are several small tables in the deli and can fill ip very quickly.
I still have over a week left before returning home and I am sure I will come back.
So, would I recommend this place? Absolutely! Stop by and give it a try, I am sure you will be impressed also.

2^nd 5 star since I joined Unilocal so you know its real. Yum yum yummy. GREAT SELECTION for breakfast and lunch. It is not fast food, It’s good food.

Fantastic! I violated my own rule about never eating in a gas station restaurant because I didn’t know it was there before I drove 20 mins out of my way to get to it. I saw the reviews and the menu and it looked good. I was passing through town and I will consider this place the next time I’m in the area. It was worth the detour.
The cold Italian sub was very flavorful and filling. The toppings were fresh, the bread was decent and I could quickly figure out why it is so popular!
Don’t miss out on the dessert either! I got an apple Danish and it was fresh and phenomenal. The right amount of sweet and the perfect consistency.
Try the frappé, specifically the mocha. I for one the drive.

I tried this place because Of the views and I’m looking and eating at non-​commercial restaurants. Needless to say this is a great place. I went in not knowing what I want but I quickly decided to try my fave breakfast… omelette. This three egg dish was everything and more. I requested to use provolone cheese instead of the usual American. The veggies were cooked perfectly and cheese throughout the omelette. I was pleasantly surprised that they didn’t add anything to the egg to make it fluffy. I loved the entire dish. I will definitely go back… For breakfast and maybe I’ll cheat on my meal plan and get a piece of that delicious looking cake.

Alex is not only friendly but loves to make you feel welcome and remembers you. The food is great especially the BLT.

This is a perfectly fine little deli. Having said that, I will say they only have two types of bagels — everything and plain. I wish I would have known that before I drove 27 miles.
I got there around 830am — it took about 10 minutes to get two plain bagels toasted with a little cream cheese. There was no one else there. I don’t know how slow it would have been if it were busy. To be honest, they weren’t really toasted, more like warmed up? I will say the bagels tasted fresh so that’s a point in their favor.
I’ll probably go back to try the sandwiches and maybe some of the other items on the menu because it does look promising but an early morning trip for bagels won’t happen again.

We showed up at 3:05 and the girl inside was so nice she said it was ok that they serve us! That alone deserves 5 stars. BUT me being the critic that I am, I have to say the panini’s were good but not the best I’ve ever had. SHE was awesome, I can’t remember her name but she definitely was the bomb.
I had the eggplant parm panini and my man had the steak and cheese panini. It was fresh and good but my fav was the chipotle sauce
Espresso was very good too!

This place is amazing — they ship some of their stuff down from a bakery in Brooklyn. Outstanding food. It’s a little pricy, but it’s a little taste of home for those of us from up north!

I don’t give 5’s easy and I don’t want this place to lose it’s perfect rating but With that said this place is in my top 3 for Fayetteville restaurants.
Food fresh (I don’t eat lunch meat but hubs loved their sandwiches) the homemade chips is reason enough to go. Very clean and great service. I love me some panera but nothing is better than homemade and this place gives u that at a reasonable price!

Got a light lunch– philly cheese steak for me and an Italian sub for my husband. Both were very good. Looking forward to trying their breakfast and other lunch choices (salads or pastas) as well as their smoothie/​frappé/​dessert options! Everything looked pretty amazing. We did get a half box of Italian cookies that we can’t wait to try out! Service was amazing– will hopefully update when we try more food here! So far everything was fresh and delicious!

Legit… I’ve been here 13 years, I’ve tried virtually everything in Fayetteville, I’ve got my spots that I like, but THIS… THIS little deli attached to Valero gas station on Reilly Road is my new favorite in all of Fayetteville. The staff is insanely nice and pleasant, the food was phenomenal, the cappuccino was great, and the pastries are among the best in Fayetteville. To top it off, the owner is the coolest. Very friendly and definitely makes you feel like this little deli is «home.» I didn’t wanna leave! I’ll definitely be a regular here and I’m genuinely excited to have found such an awesome establishment.

My husband and I stopped here for the first time and we loved it ! The paninis are really good!!! And the Canolis are really good too!!! Friendly service and clean environment…
We really enjoy this place every time we go in.

YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS PLACE!
If you’ve never been to New York Deli, you’re doing yourself a disservice. This place may be small, but it packs incredible soups and sandwiches, along with probably the BEST salad options in the whole city.
The owner and his staff are exceptionally warm and friendly, all day, every day. When you walk in, they make you feel like they’ve known you all their life.
The quality of the food is outstanding, as well. With a rather large selection of expertly-​crafted sandwiches, gourmet soups (TRY THE POTATO BACON AND THE MINESTRONE!!), and delicious baked goods, this place is simply the best little deli in the whole damn county. Maybe even the state!

Very delicious… I have very few places that get me excited for a return visit, i am definitely recommending this place to all my friends and family.
Several options to match your mood. Not too many where it gets overwhelming.
