$ 10 cover on the weekends when the center is right down the road with 0 cover anywhere… rough crowd the last few weekends. Not sure if we were in Hartford or Farmington

Our friends went a few weeks after us. They said it was even worse than our experience. Dirty bar, had to request menus, no mention that they serve pizza, inexperienced staff and really could of cared less. They said the place was empty and the new bar next door didn’t have the football they wanted to see and that’s why they went there. Big mistake! Wish there was no stars to give because that was the rating!

Don’t bother, go next door to Maratta’s Front Row. Bartenders at Tavern ignore you, then complain to the bar manager who makes you apologize since his staff is on their phones unable to take your orders even though the place is empty. Security is taking shots while on duty. Sorry the place has fallen since Murphy’s, avoid at all costs!!! Zero stars should be an option.

bartenders were amazing and friendly ! The bar was fun and the music was OK besides the fact that every song for the full 4 to 5 hours lasted 3 seconds the DJ didn’t let any song last longer than 3 seconds every time it was a good song he would switch to the next song before you knew it he obviously needs more experience with being a DJ repeated alot of the music also

It has been a few months since my last review. We were hoping it would get better. It hasn’t. Went in a little over a month ago with co-workers for Happy Hour. It took an hour for my tomato basil salad. It was on the Happy Hour specials list. Today, I stopped to pick up a French Onion soup. It was terrible! No flavor, greasy, barely any cheese and had rosemary dumped into it. Just gross. I threw it away. It is a shame, because the place looks great. They need to get their service a food up to par.

I really don’t want to give a biased opinion, but I had one of the worst bar experiences in my life here a few weeks ago. Granted it was during an important tournament game for the Huskies, but the place was so incredibly understaffed and seemingly mismanaged, that hoards of people were waiting upwards of an hour to get a drink, or god forbid, close out their tab just so they could leave. I’m giving this place two stars for a respectable draft list. However, thirty minutes into the evening(which started at 7PM), 30% of the kegs were kicked, and not a soul was swapping them out. There’s really not much more to say here. I just figured maybe this place would’ve stepped up considering the hefty competition next door.

Music was great but don’t follow any online promotions. They will get you in then tell you they aren’t valid past a certain time. This time drinks were $ 5 until 11 but according to Facebook it was all night and denied it until I showed them proof.

I always have a good time at the tavern. Can’t say much for the service when it comes to dinner but I have enjoyed most meals and just always a good atmosphere

The service here is atrocious. I’ve been here on several occasions, most recently the UConn NCAA game and everyone around me was echoing how bad service was. The bar tenders have taken eye-contact-avoidance to a whole new level. The couple next to me waited more than 45 min to place an initial drink order. Several people around me «gave up» and decided to leave. The food is average or below average bar food, nothing creative or amazing. If Farmington had just a couple more options, this place would go down in flames. My recommendation is to stay away until management get a clue about how to staff properly or how to take customer service first.

If I could put 0 stars I would. First off we got water with particles floating in it. They don’t have any of the beers on the tap that they claim. It takes over an hour to figure out that the food you ordered was not actually placed and the overall service is miserable. STAYAWAYFROMTHISPLACE

I’ve never eaten here, only visited for the bar atmosphere. It’s a solid bar, nothing crazy. There’s a huge bar in the middle and a second smaller bar for crowded times. Parking is easy here and there’s plenty of room inside usually, even on a busy night. They do charge a $ 10 cover which I find irritating since not many bars around do. I find this bar most fun when you bring a large group of people. There’s not many other bars in West Hartford that can hold large crowds like this. Wondering if Marattas Front Row’s opening will have any affect on the Tavern!

Decided to go there to watch football this past Sunday. They have a good deal if you like bud lite and coors lite however the bud lite line the beer was warm and then didn’t poor for a while. There were 4 of us and the bartender had an attitude the whole time. Both bartenders looked miserable and could care less if you say there with an empty beer. I asked for a menu and waited about 30 mins and still didn’t get it. Then went to order food and the bartender said I would have to wait and then walked away. So can’t give a review on the food because I got so mad I gave up on trying to order.

After being able to go to Murphy’s and Scarletti’s for so many years, this place is disappointing. Unless the place is almost empty, the service is very slow and I’ve had orders forgotten before. The happy hour specials are pretty underwhelming, especially the $ 5 select drafts. This is all a shame because their food is pretty good and they have basically every major sporting event on at all times. If you live or work nearby it’s worth the convenience, but there are much better options 10 – 15 minutes down the road in West Hartford.

What absolute garbage!!! Garbage!!! The staff is atrocious and food is basically the frozen stuff I can get at stop and shop. There’s a 1000 better sports bars then this. Hell I would rather go to Olive bar with no NFL ticket where the food is at least decent… And I don’t love there either. Also the waitress brings me the wrong wings over and looks at me like I’m crazy when I said«I think I got buffalo» and she stared at me for 20 secs trying to process what just happened. I’m convinced some of these servers are just trying to mess with people. Can’t be that stupid. There’s a new sports bar advertising to open up next door to this crappy place, if it’s halfway decent this place will be sold or closed. I should have known though cause the one in Hartford is terrible too.

I wish there was a 2 ½ star option, because that’s what I would give Tavern at the Exchange. Their food is pretty decent, having gotten a couple burgers and sandwiches from there as well as one of their pizzas. Working in the Exchange building for a year and a half, it was a nice little place to go to during lunch. Along with being a restaurant, it also acts as a bar/night club sorta combo at nights. The one time I did go there, it was pretty crowded and loud, but maybe that’s just me getting old. Bah, humbug!

I don’t know why there is so much hate on here for the tavern… Almost made me want to give it an extra star. This used to be Murphys & Scarletti’s. It was switched to the tavern about a year and a half ago. They made the entire place one giant bar instead of three different mini-bars. It attracts a wide variety of clientele, from younger locals to diehard sports fans, to uconn med students. The food is on par with most pub fare. They have a new giant pretzel that is actually really good. The pizza by the slice is also tasty. It’s nothing to write home about, but far from divey. As for nightlife, it’s about as best as the Farmington/Unionville area has to offer. It has more convenient parking than West Hartford and isn’t nearly as snobby/pretentious. Also if you live in one of the condos nearby(or know anyone who does) it’s a super convenient walk. The DJ usually plays top 40 on the weekends. My suggestion would be to go with a large group of friends if you are stuck in the burbs, don’t want to drive too far, and have an itching to go out for some dancing or want to watch sports on LCD screens chomping on bar food. I took stars off because they were very flaky when a student organization I was involved in tried to schedule a halloween party back in 2014. They canceled on us at the last minute and were very rude and unprofessional about it. Not to mention, they had about 5 «grand openings» that were later rescheduled. I chalk this up to poor management in the beginning. They have gotten better.

They updated their menu, which was a big plus. Tried their West Coast Chicken Sandwich, was very good, my buddies got the Buffalo Chicken Wrap and had nothing but good things to say about it. Wait staff is still poor on timing and host took too long to greet and seat us. Waitress was good when she was around. Overall, had a better experience than previous visits.

The service is ineffective. The service is slow. The service is inimical. Examples include long waits for ordering drinks and checking out, forgetting orders, and overall disorganization. from the first step through the door and every second thereafter the customer is Judging. And the customers Are watching the entire restaurant. Just because the customers who ordered the food don’t see you running like chickens with your heads cut off doesn’t mean I don’t. The servers should remember that better teamwork, communication, tentativeness toward customers is always the goal. Im going to avoid this place he best I can.

Nice large open bar. Great place to meet a large group of friends. Good sized parking lot. Large beer selection on tap. Pretty good Chicken Tenders or Wings. Nice large sandwiches. The only problem is the server was nonexistent most of the time. I had to ask for a water twice… but my hubby got his beer on the first request. Had walk up to the bar to get a refill of water. And there was quite a wait for beer refills. So, if you don’t mind the wait or slow moving server it’s a pretty great hangout. As other said sports are playing on the multiple TVs but no closed captioning. And, they were playing County music in the background until the untuned band started to play… ugh.

I’ve read most of these reviews and was stunned. My experience was very positive. The bar is very clean, no stale beer smell and tables were well maintained. We ordered our drinks which came quickly. Had two appetizers that were very good. We ordered a quesadilla with mango and jalapeños. A great combinations. The heat from the peppers came through but we’re mellowed from the sweetness of the mango. Interesting, but it worked very well. We also Ordered a set of wings. Half dry rub Parmesan/Garlic and a pineapple/teriyaki sauce. Both were dirty wings and both flavors were perfect. Molly was our waitress. A very refreshing waitress. Knew what the orders were and helped us with questions. She was very good and friendly. An asset to the restaurant. I will certainly come back. It’s a good choice.
