This my go to diner which I can literally walk to. The onion rings are really good and I would highly recommend the homemade mozzarella sticks. This is just a good place to get some good diner food. It is very family friendly and they offer high chairs. There is no baby changing table in the bathroom which is a bummer.

I really enjoy this diner. Everything that I have ever ordered from here has been delicious. The staff are superb, very friendly, personable and get your food out to you quickly and check on you often. I love their Greek salad the most. Lots of yummy ingredients and a perfect oil and vinegar seasoned dressing.

Normal diner. Only thing that was notable was the friendly service. Waiter was very friendly and personable. They forgot our side dish and even when reminded said«I’m Sorry I’ll come back with it «and never returned with it. Only plus was we weren’t charged for it(since we never received it) when the meal concluded. It’s a normal everyday diner with friendly staff. I guess I would come back.

Great family run diner with very friendly service. Whether you come in for breakfast or lunch, you’ll be treated like family and sit down for a nice homey meal. On our last trip here, we didn’t want to wait, so we sat at the counter and watched the action up close and personal. During the lunch rush, it can get pretty packed and hectic with the wait staff slinging up to 3 dishes of food on each arm while maneuvering through the aisles. It was a pretty smooth operation, despite the kitchen staff getting some orders wrong, but the sharp wait staff were on the ball and caught most of them before going out to the tables. I liked that they prepped the soups and salads right at the counter. For a more personal touch, there’s even a hot syrup dispenser for French toast, pancakes and waffles! None of those peel back plastic syrup containers here! Like most diners on Long Island, you can get breakfast served all day. So if you feel like blueberry pancakes for dinner, go ahead and splurge! I like many of the homemade comfort food favorites like the old fashioned baked meatloaf, roast turkey dinner or hot open roast beef. The servings are generous to say the least and having happy, stuffed customers roll out the door is what the Farmingdale Diner does best. Before we leave, I always get one of their ginormous house made blueberry muffins to go. The muffin top alone can feed a small family! Their parking lot is not very big, but you can park on the street even though its a busy stretch of Hempstead Tpke(just don’t park in the Wendy’s lot next door or you’re just asking to be towed).

Dinner here is great as well. I had the penne a la vodka special which came with a soup, salad, bread, and HUGE portion of pasta. Others at my table had the roadhouse panini and the stuffed chicken dinner. We also tried the homemade mozzarella sticks, which were phenomenal. A true LI diner experience!

Was in the area very early because of a tee time at bethpage around the corner. Needed to eat and kill some time and this diner answered my prayers. Got the egg sandwich. Fast, tasty and comfortable. What’s more to ask?

Best diner ever! I’ve been to other diners, but I keep coming back to this one. Its simple small diner, but its the best I’ve ever been to. The food is excellent. Try one of the Panini’s they have. Try one of the delicious salads. Try anything you can’t go wrong! The portions are plentiful. Everything is fairly priced. My wife and I come here all the time. Now, we come here with the whole family like we did today. It was my birthday and they brought me a delicious piece of carrot cheese cake. It was so good and I ate so much I coulden’t even walk straight. Its family owned and the staff is so friendly and helpful. I feel happy every time I come here. If you haven’t tried them yet, do it. You wont regret it. –Mike

It was pretty busy for lunch during the week. You get a lot for the lunch specials, I had to take home leftovers. Pretty big turkey club panini. Also got potato salad on the side, chicken noodle soup, coleslaw, and a pickle. The server was really nice and friendly. We stayed for a while to talk and weren’t rushed out, which I appreciated.

Ah, the old Turnpike Diner. What can I say? It’s a quality Long Island Diner. Nothing special, but the fact that it’s not a dive or a roach nest is something the owners can be proud of, as it’s all too easy to let a diner sink into squalor. We’ve all been to those. Go, eat, and be merry.

Food was great diner food. Better than what I expected. I have had breakfast and lunch here, and the late-night cheesy fries and gravy snacks and all were amazing experiences. Service is outstanding. The best for me was at a packed breakfast there was one waiter constantly walking around refilling waters, orange juices, coffees, all drinks! I love not having to wave someone down because they don’t pay attention to drinks, they dazzled me with this! This is exactly what diners are supposed to be like.

Solid Long Island diner, but nothing to write home about… Came here Saturday morning with some friends after checking Unilocal for a good breakfast place in the area. The menu is the usual diner selection and prices are reasonable. I got the turkey club and my friends ordered waffles with chocolate chips and bacon, egg, and cheese on rye — all came out exactly as expected. Both the iced coffee and hot coffee were mediocre. Even the pickles were just okay. Overall, we had a good meal but I wasn’t particularly impressed nor was it memorable. Our waiter was nice and but only as attentive as he needed to be. Our food did come out pretty quickly though which is always a plus. Other Unilocalers seem to really enjoy this place so I am willing to give it another shot next time I’m in the area and hopefully bump it up to 4 stars. Also, the parking lot is unusually small but when I went the place wasn’t too crowded so I guess not a big deal?

Excellent service, waitress was very attentive and friendly, thank you Rosa Maria Food was yummy, corn muffin out of this world and coffee oh my god it was delicious and take it from a coffee lover, I had three cups, this will be our closed home favorite Diner. The only thing that I kind of didn’t like was the parking lot is too small but it wasn’t crowed so I was able to find a spot.

The more I eat here, the more I like it. Had a Greek salad with gyro and tried some moussaka, both excellent. Definitely above average for a diner. Our waiter was exceptionally friendly and helpful, which always makes dinner nice.

Stopped here on Sunday for an early lunch and enjoyed it. This was my first time here and I’ve lived in town for almost ten years. A friend recently recommended it, and I’m glad they did. The first thing we noticed was that the place was very clean(from where we could see, neither of us left the table). While we were there, we saw multiple employees sweeping, vacuuming and wiping down tables when it was slow. The waiter we had was friendly, knowledgeable of the menu and prompt with service. I ordered the chicken souvlaki platter and my dining partner ordered the chicken gyro platter. Our order was ready much faster than either of us expected. The plates were filled with very generous portions, the fries were hot and perfectly golden, the meat was seasoned and juicy and the tsasiki was tangy and fresh. I didn’t want a pickle and the waiter brought over a dish of beets that were sweet with a nice crunch. We ordered 2 kinds of dessert(carrot cheese cake and lemon meringue pie). Both came with generous servings and had a bit of chocolate sauce and whipped cream on top. I didn’t try the carrot cheese cake but heard it was outrageously good. The lemon meringue was just the way I like it — tart and sweet with a nice smooth consistency and a fluffy meringue. I will definitely be back to eat here again. As a side note, while we were there we overheard the owner ask the kitchen crew through the pass-through window if they were thirsty and would like a drink. I have never seen that at a diner and we could tell by the way the employees were so well mannered and productive that the owner was a good boss, but it was nice to see.

One colds winter night I was so in the mood for French Toast looking to my Unilocal app for help Farmingdale Diner appeared a good diner is hard to come by this place is good friendly guy seated us waiter instantly appeared I had a vanilla coke it was indeed prepared with syrup and not canned stuff refreshing sweet and good we read about the mozzarella sticks so we ordered them($ 8.95) came out piping hot with marinara sauce I would say they were fantastic on the first visit but sadly on visit #2 they were greasier and the oil was clearly old compared to visit #1 I was so sad because they were so good the first time the french toast is excellent and was both trips toasty buttery sweet big hunk slices(2) booths and well as tables the host is very warm and friendly and I like him the people who work here clearly care about their diner and their food its clean not a fancy shmancy but very diner perfect decent prices I will be back

Long Island is known for its diners(so I have been told) and Farmingdale does not disappoint! First, compared to some of the other nearby diners, there was not a crowd here, which was nice for a Saturday night. We were able to park and sit right away(I am not too patient when it comes to being hungry). We ordered the homemade mozzarella sticks that seem to be all the rage here on Unilocal. They were A.Maz.Ing. So fresh, and they honestly tasted different then standard sticks, probably because the cheese was fresh and they were only lighted fried. So good. I don’t remember the name of the salad I had, but I loved it. It was ‘Someone’s Favorite Salad’ and it has tuna, avocado, blue cheese, cranberries, lettuce. Such a strange array of ingredient I thought, but it worked, and it was delicious. Nevermind also packed with protein. Friendly service too. Big fan. Hope to go back soon!

It is a great start when you walk in to a diner and all the employees are smiling and genuinely friendly. Better still was the quality and preparation of the food matched the pleasantness of the staff. They have a great lunch deal for $ 9.99 with soup and a sandwich or salad. My wife said the Manhattan Clam was delicious. I had an omelet which was chock full and tasty. I really liked the high back seats in the booths which made it feel very private and un-diner like.
