Good afternoon everyone ! ALLCANEATLOBSTER&CRABDINNER ! I was looking at Unilocal, and saw one of the places that I had gone to recently. The Grand Buffet. I read some of the reviews and felt that they did not match the experiences I have had there I have been to this establishment about a half dozen times. And found the place to be an excellent value for what it is. First of all the place serves lobster. (For Diner)…All you can eat, might have to wait a few minutes for it to come out but when it does come out as fresh juicy Big pieces of claws and chopped up tail meat. I help myself at least 2 times .in addition they also the large snow crab legs, it’s important to grab them just as they come out, nice and crisp and fresh. I enjoy a little lemon and butter with the crab. They make the sushi fresh in the back and I make sure that I get some of the California and the tuna rolls General Tao chicken, the broiled seafood with cheese the lo mein. string beans and dumplings are all very acceptable Chinese dishes. I enjoy my traditional meal with chopsticks ‚ and find the booths to be large and very comfortable. I have found the English to be excellent in all the servers. I have had… but I do prefer to speak and practice my Mandarin with them and they are very polite and accommodating. The soda is not flat anymore and is actually rather good and refreshing now for the dollar so they refill my glass many times without having to ask, in addition to hot jasmine tea, which is very good is FREE . I finished my meal with some soft serve vanilla ice cream and a few sprinkles that I eat with chopsticks for fun … Top off with a almond cookie, and I’m good to go . Again, I come in times they’re not that busy and find the meals always to be fresh and dishes full I take the time to make good relations with the servers and the owners, and I enjoy my experience. If they run out of lobster I can tell them in Chinese with a smile. I will always return to this yummy place. Jim says. Come Hungry … Happy New Year !

China Grand Buffet is a decent but certainly not a gourmet restaurant. We came for lunch and I found the sushi rolls were ok, the egg rolls were decent, the chicken wings were very good, the lo mien very good, the boneless ribs were somewhat tough, the beef with broccoli was fair, the fried shrimp were very good and the baked salmon looked like the very same one someone else photographed a few months ago in another review. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly and attentive. For $ 8.95 each, it was an acceptable meal.

I’m not sure why this place has such bad reviews, but my experience was very different. The servers were able to accomoate our group when we wanted to have a different booth, and they were very nice. The food was also pretty good for a typical Chinese buffet and the price was pretty good. The place was alos pretty clean and the bathroom was pretty nice. The server also gave us fortune cookies when we left which was a plus. I would recomend this place to people.

I went in hungry, the only reason why I left full is because I tried everything once and hated it all. The food here is just terrible. There are flys everywhere. Some food is floating in water and oil, other food is dry and old… You can definitely do better elsewhere.

For $ 13 a person for dinner, you really can’t expect much. However, for a quick, cheap bite, I will say, this place is pretty passable. Don’t expect the cleanest restaurant, with the best buffet food, with the greatest selection. You’ll have enough decent food to choose from to leave at least full, but not feeling like you had the best meal of your life. It’s a chinese buffet… for $ 13 a person… what more do you want?

Absolute garbage!!! Everything was over cooked with no flavor and made my stomach unhappy. The salmon looks like it was pulled out of a dumpster. Spent more time on the toilet than I did eating. For gods sake… Stay away

If I could leave zero stars I would. Never been here & I promise I’ll never come back. First off, they argued with me that my 8 year old son was 15& that he would be charged adult price. Secondly the food isn’t anything special. The sushi is horrible and looked old. The only thing that even looked edible was the boneless ribs. Lastly the staff, horrible, inattentive, and down right nasty. Who drops a check after 10 minutes then demands payment before we finish our meal??? The manager was conveniently not in…

Ok I was afraid to eat here based on posted reviews. It took me 6 months to get up enough courage to venture in to this buffet style restaurant. Last night I decided to go and was not disappointed. Ok it is a dump BUT the staff was friendly and the food was fresh. This was a Tuesday night. They had many seafood and vegetable dishes along with your typical American style Chinese takeout. If you know what to look for in Chinese food and can be selective, you can certainly have a good healthy experience. I was more then pleased with their fresh whole crab, squid, shrimp and lobster dishes. Yes there are dishes that are strictly made for those only accustomed to take out style but there were also gems. I must say this place has gotten a worse wrap than it deserves. Also keep in mind the price is well within reason. I have been frequenting more and more local farmingdale and area restaurants and for the cost think this one is worth a second chance. I will go again to make sure they live up to my first impressions.
