CPIK was craving Phở but neither of us had cash, so we settled on Anh Hong because they accepted credit cards. I thought the Phở was ok, but CPIK really enjoyed it. The broth featured a salty introduction with a sweet finish. The noodles were a bit thicker, and clear. The meat to noodle ratio was fair. However, the greens that they left us didn’t look incredibly fresh, and they only offered bean sprout, lime, and thai basil. At one point in the meal, CPIK found a hair in his soup, but he wasn’t sure if it was his. He shrugged it off and continued eating because he enjoyed his Phở so much. bleghhh… boys.

If you are looking to eat Bo Nhung Nhum here or Ca Nuong, this is the place! The broth for the bo nhung nhum has the perfect amount of vinegar and onions in it. The rice paper they give you is perfect size and is the good kind that doesnt break on you when you try to wrap. Same for the ca nuong, fresh veggies, and they give you noodles! lots of places dont do that unless you order as a side dish. What makes this place stands out from others is the dipping sauce they give you for these dishes. They give you the normal mam nem(anchovy sauce) but they also give you the tamirand dipping sauce! I’ve never had this sauce anywhere before, but it’s eaten the same way as the mam nem sauce. But the texture is thicker and the flavor is really good. I dont even know the proper name of the sauce, but because of that and the great service I’ve been back multiple times.

My mother and i decided to try this place because she say they had bo 7 mon and she thought it might be decent… Restaurant itself is very nice, its very clean and bright however. food wise… it wasn’t worth the price that we paid. Their specialty is Bo 7 Mon. Now i know we are in northern virginia so to expect an awesome selection compared to California… would be a mistake. However If your gonna advertise for something this well known… I would expect better quality. The 7 courses were the following: goi bo(beef salad), bo nhung giam(beef in venerate fondue), bo la lop(beef wrapped with betel leaf), bo cuon tom,(shrimp wrapped with beef), bo nuong mo chai(grilled beef sausage), cha dum(steamed beef paste), chao bo(beef porridge) the goi bo was actually decent bit of a small plate but flavors where there bo nhung giam was basically like a small scale shabu shabu with no flavor, you are given 4 thin slices of beef… bo la lop, bo cuon tom, bo nuong mo chai, and cha dum are given to you on a small plate… its basically 4 dishes on 1 plate. The menu says that you get 3 pieces of shrimp wrapped in beef… we were given 2, and we were given 2 pieces of the grilled beef sausage when we were suppose to get 3. the chao bo; i have never had bad porriage… this one not only smelled horrible it tasted plain Service: wasn’t too bad… even though it took forever for the servers to figure out we need refills of water. I mean honestly if you keep asking if we need anything and you see our cups are empty… you kinda assume that water is needed. overall.would i go back. possibly to try other dishes but i would never order bo 7 mon here agian… its not worth it. They basically combined 4 courses into one course and called it 7. Its kinda a bit of a false advertisement
