Prime rib special night at the rainbow Oakes café. It’s like a side of beef on your plate. It cooked perfect(medium rare) and two of us split it but when we asked if it was possible to get the prime rib blackened, he just sent out a little cup of blacken seasoning. Huh?

What a wonderful hidden treasure. Located off old route 395, this café offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. Comfort food at its best and in lumberjack sized portions. We were referred here by some friends and am I glad we went. It’s not often that you can find a place that offers traditional American, Country breakfast. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs, there was enough for a months and very reasonably priced considering. The service was amazing, never a wanting moment, the food came out hot and fast. The dinner menu was filled with your choice of juicy steak, whatever cut you like. The ambiance was very cozy, County Lodge, very clean. To top it off there is a fresh local produce market right next door. If you are in the area, you have to stop by.

My daughter introduced me to this cute restaurant one Sunday morning during the Vintage Market. We had never stopped to eat before, but we had woken up early to beat the lines and needed some breakfast! We went in understanding it would be busy. Food was delicious and let me tell you, the portion sizes are out of this world! I could not finish my omelette and happily took a lot of it home. Service, even on a busy day, was superb. We came back just last weekend and I was greeted with the same quality service and equally delicious food. I really want to make it back one night for a special, but I can’t decide between fried chicken or prime rib! I’m very sorry that I can’t remember the waitresses names that served and seated us. They were both young and one of them looked like the red-tipped haired bartender. The other was a sweet blonde that had the cutest smile! I am impressed with the waitstaff at this restaurant and wish to commend their trainers! Our waitress was a hoot! My only complaint has nothing to do with the food, but with the parking. I just wish there was a little more space! Overall, wonderful restaurant with delicious food and quality service!

food was ok and I know it was busy but it took way too long for our food to come out after ordering. When it did finally come out it was cold. we ended up sitting at the bar and the service was only fair at best. based on today’s meal I don’t know if I’ll be coming back anytime soon.

Just a good ol restaurant. The service is very good and casual. They food is really delicious and their jalapeño poppers are WTF huge and amazing. Homemade dressings, and a great family feel in the dining room, but also a nice separate bar area.

If you go to a place away from the city, closer to nature, animals, trees and the country side. You’re in for a big treat! Freshness out the wa-zoo! I ordered the three eggs skillet and I couldn’t say enough good things about the taste and quality of the meal. Presentation was superb, you’d be kidding yourself to believe this was prepared by an amateur chef. One thing is that I wish they had lighten up on the cheese, but that’s the least of the worries, because that was fresh too. Service for the most part was really awesome. You’ll really get a wonderful country side feel inside the restaurant with all the older photos and nature snapshots hanging on the wall. Plus to have all the tables and chairs in and outside the establishment made practically from wood, hand done really gives it a nice comfortable touch. I was here in the area for work, not a place I would likely frequent on a regular, but if I’m ever passing through on my way to San Diego I wouldn’t mind pulling in for a quick bite!

The staff is always accommodating and friendly and they work hard to ensure your satisfaction. All the meals I’ve enjoyed here are very delicious. I’ve heard great things about the fried chicken, but have never tried it. The beverage selection is broad enough to satisfy just about everyone. They have seating available inside and outside when the weather is nice. I’ve always departed very satisfied from this great establishment.

The Rainbow Oaks Restaurant is a cute little establishment in the somewhat remote community of Rainbow, a few miles south of Temecula in northern San Diego County. While it is an attractive café, it is overpriced for what you get, and the quality and service is definitely lacking. I had lunch recently at the Rainbow Oaks Restaurant. I ordered the«Fresh Roasted Turkey Sandwich», which was pretty simple — just turkey, tomatoes, iceberg lettuce, mayo, and bread. The menu indicated that they make the turkey fresh in their own kitchen. But the sandwich came made with turkey loaf, with pieces of the gelatin coating still stuck to the outside of the meat. No fresh turkey, unless you consider a turkey loaf to be fresh turkey. Lunch meat. The bread was plain brown wheat bread — certainly nothing special. The iceberg lettuce was OK, as was the tomato slice, but for $ 11, I would have expected a much better sandwich. This came with a side; I chose onion rings, which were very greasy. I actually had a little pool of cooking oil on my plate at the bottom of the heap. The service was poor. The waiter was friendly enough, but didn’t come back after delivering the food, and never refilled our empty water glasses until asked, and then not right away. Because of it’s location, the restaurant is busy. But I won’t likely be back unless I have no other choice.

Far and away the best breakfast place in Southern California. The restaurant is gorgeous inside and the service is only surpassed by the food. The specials are incredible and the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended for lunch and dinner as well. Also, it’s very family friendly.

American Food. I had a Chicken Sandwich with Fries, a virgin Mary(one of the best I’ve ever had), hubby had a Turkey Sandwich and a beer. Real Turkey Meat(weird to have to say that, but it’s getting harder and harder to find). Good Service. Cute Décor. Good sized servings. We’ll try for breakfast another time as reviews for that were good too.

I come here once every couple months with my boyfriend, and I’ve never been disappointed. Their omelette are amazing, their sandwiches delicious, their burgers cooked to perfection. Everything here is made with care, and their ingredients are quality. Seriously, they have the best bacon I’ve ever had here. Their serving sizes are big, you definitely get what you pay for. Accompanied with a cute cabin atmosphere and friendly wait staff, this is an ideal place for any meal!

A restaurant right off the freeway thats actually good. The serive was fast and pleasant. The prices on the menu seemed high to me compared to places like Mo’s Egghouse and Annies. I ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich. It was 10.95. It was very tasty but different than others Ive had. The bread wasnt as crisp. It was more doughy/squishy. It tasted like there was mayonnaise in it which wasnt bad but weird. Lastly, it was served with syrup instead of jam. I would order it again. What I wouldn’t order again are the home fries. This would of easily been a four star if the home fries were not overcooked and under seasoned. I was surprised to see a bar but in a very good way.

So we were up towards the county line of San Diego for the day and Fallbrook seemed like a good place to grab breakfast since the freeway up to Riverside was blocked. Rainbow Oaks is right off the 15 and opens everyday early at 6 am, so it definitely looked like a winner. The parking lot is quite big, but this day there wasn’t too many people there. This restaurant which looks like a cabin inside serves breakfast through dinner along with fresh pie and desserts. Their breakfast menu has your typical American breakfast items such as omelets, scrambles, skillets, griddle items and a small section of Mexican dishes. Starting off with drinks, the coffee I was served here was luke warm and tasted watered down in my opinion. Of course I personally prefer strong coffee and don’t really add any cream or sugar to it. But if cream in your coffee is your thing, each table has a big bowl of those single serving creamers( ). Our friendly waitress was really nice, she made us feel welcome and did a great job at refilling our drinks. Our food came out promptly after ordering it and the portions here are pretty big, especially compared to the prices. The pancake combo only cost me about $ 11 but it came with three huge hotcakes, two eggs and four pieces of bacon( ). The pancakes were nice fluffy and cooked great on both sides( ), they were definitely on the lighter side, which is a great texture for pancakes. The bacon was very delicious here and were big cuts, although four strips was a little too much for me. It definitely was a great way to start the day with lots of filling food; however it was a bit too much for even a big guy like me, I was unable to finish it all. My friend ended up ordering a vegetarian omelet, which had to be at least a four egg omelet in size( ), they did well at adding plenty of veggies. Although the omelet was cooked great, she really didn’t care for the avocado being inside the omelet. She also commented that her guava juice tasted pretty weird, she ended up not finishing it and got water instead. While Rainbow Oaks certainly doesn’t offer anything too special for their morning breakfast, they do a good job at cooking their food and have pretty decent prices. They did have a specials menu there, but I was unable to see it from where we were sitting. So maybe they did offer more, but I didn’t catch it. Overall they serve up big portions and give you your money’s worth for a great breakfast.

Rainbow Oaks is a fun destination type place. We went for brunch on our way to the Wild Animal Park and boy were we stuffed! From my omelette, to the kids pancakes and my husbands chicken fried steak, the food was delicious! Our plates were plentiful and the food was great. The prices were a little high and the service was friendly, but not terribly attentive because our server was quite busy. We will certainly be back!

2.5 Stars Nestled in a corner of the hidden city of Rainbow, I thought I had found my pot-of-gold under the rainbow. Glowing with a 4.5 star Unilocal average and boasting Prime Rib on many tips, I thought my trek here would pay off. Alas, I didn’t order prime rib. It was Christmas morning and I went for a breakfast option. Huevos Rancheros-2 Stars These were not good at all. The plate was heavily covered in a thick awkward tasting cheese that drenched the taste of the eggs and rest of the dish. The tortillas, wrapped in paper, had to be excavated from being tossed in the melted cheese. Service-2 Stars Perhaps, Christmas morning may not have been the ideal time to come. It seemed as though our hostess wished not to be here. Service was short and impersonal. I have had better. Ambiance-4 Stars Take a trip back in time to how California used to be. A local steak house filled with locals and, perhaps, some freeway traffic offers up a much needed unique ambiance. I felt like I was at a road side café from the 50’s. Gotta love such a home style feeling. My suggestion is to order the meats or daily specials and you will probably have much better luck than I. Still, it was Christmas and I was left with what I felt was a bag of coal.
