Viva Comida

Was very reluctant after reading reviews here but eating options for the area were slim to none so we chanced it. SO glad. My brother tried the Bacon cheeseburger and fries, my friend from the area had the regular cheeseburger (both fantastic) and I had the Manny breakfast. I’m from Texas and this local flavor dish was really great! Waitress was attentive and nice too. Lesson learned about bad reviews. Try it anyway cause maybe they fixed whatever was the problem.

My previous review was not so good because of certain circumstances but tonight my wife and I were able to come by and get a seat. The food, atmosphere and people are amazing. Goes to show you that good things can come out of a bad experience through communication.

Great Mozambique and chips app! Burger special with candied jalapeño and asian bbq was delish. Hubby had chicken Mozambique, loved it!

Viva Comida is freaking amazing! Just what Fall River needs, a twist on the usual boring fair you can get at every other restaurant in Fall River! The Mozambique sauce could be put on a shoe! Very relaxing atmosphere it’s not stuffy or pretentious like other places try to be. I will be attending Viva regularly it was great!

Stopped here for dinner after hearing great things. Became a little nervous when we walked in at 5:30 on a Saturday and it was dead. Our friendly waitress sat us quickly with paper menus and a drink menu. We ordered a couple of drafts, our first selection was out, our second choice was brought to us to sample bc she thought it was bad, it was. We finally got a third choice but my beer seemed a little warm and I was shocked seeing how this place is converted to a bar at night. I ordered the big papa burrito which was delicious and huge! My fries didn’t seem fresh like they had been reheated. My husband ordered the shrimp Mozambique burrito and loved it. The food and service was good but this place needs a bar rescue. Beer is the easiest drink to serve and they missed the mark and the location is a couple of steps above seedy. Will definitely order from again but get it to go!

Wow oh wow were my taste buds are heaven!!!
We started off with this special app of the day, which was basically if shrimp Mozambique met coconut shrimp and had some awesome chemistry and had little babies! OH MY GOD! It was delicious! I hope they add it to their only 3 apps on the menu!
I ordered the Matador burger I think that’s what it was called.
Another WOW moment! Everything tastes amazing in this burger! From the pineapple jam to the sweetbread bun and the crispy bacon! YUM YUM YUM! Devoured and only little pools of grease left on the plate!
Will definitely be returning here for some more delicious food! Finally a place in Fall River that takes food and puts a different twist to it and is not copying what others around them are doing! Originality and deliciousness at its best!
The Mozambique sauce will make your taste buds go crazy and want to take some home! Now that’s what Mozambique sauce is suppose to taste like! Well done!

I’ve attempted to eat here about 7 different times already, only actually got to eat here once since its been in the new location, the hours on their facebook aren’t right, show up at 8pm on a Thursday the open sign is lit up and there’s people inside, get to the door… it’s locked… no one answers the phone every time I’ve ever called… I will not be trying this place again. What a waste of time, and false advertisement on their part with the hours of operation…

I hit this place right after they moved. I was going to the Narrows and heard there was now a restaurant close by so I tried it out.
Then also went again as part of a visit to the Battleship Cove area.
They have many Portuguese standards that are done great! And also a few interesting twists on pizzas and burritos with Portuguese additions.
The service both times was great, very friendly fast servers. The quantity and quality of food for your money is also pretty good.
We did try the Portuguese steak pizza, the flavors of it were good but the steak part of it was more like a steak-​um or Philly steak. But it was inventive and different.

This place Rocks! A twist on Portuguese food that will knock your socks off! Great service and very reasonable prices!

I came here right before they moved near the waterfront. It was literally the best food I have had in awhile. I had the chicken mozambique and they added some shrimp per my request which was nice. On top of rice and with curly fries. Of course I finished it with some sumol. It was pretty affordable and the waitress was little friendly. The décor was pretty cool reminded me a little of No Problemo in New Bedford. However this was all I ate all day and I became violently ill afterwards and probably had food poisoning. However the food was so good I might risk it again lol Just hope they use clean cooking habits and fresh food.

This place was great when it was on Pleasent streets, and is even better now that it is by the water!
