Its very beautiful restaurant. Right on the water and has an overview of marina. Outside patio is the best for summer time. Food is good, definitely not great-lots of seafood options. My only concern is service. I’ve been here at least 6 times and its consistently terrible when it comes to waiters. They are forgetful and inattentive

I dont understand the bad reviews for this place. Place is beautiful. By far the nicest atmosphere in fall river. Service was awesome. Went with group of 8. Had clams and chouriz app as well as shrimp mozembique. Both excellent. Again, place was busy and service was still great and on time. Most of the table had portuguesse steak, or i had the ribeye special. Everyone loved their food. Definitly 5 stars and will be back

This review is based on 3 experiences at The Cove over July & August. Our first experience was the last Friday in July around 1:30pm. We arrived at the restaurant to find the outdoor patio only about half full which we thought was good so that we wouldn’t have to wait. Oh no– our party of 4 plus a highchair was told there was at least a 45 minute wait because they did not have enough waitstaff. It’s the middle of summer and you have outdoor seating– why do you not have enough staff? We went inside to find it was also a 45 minute wait. We brought our business to Barrett’s. The next time I went was with a party of 3 on a Thursday evening. We had a reservation, so we were seated within 5 minutes of arriving. Our waitress took our order and then we never saw her again until she brought the check. Our empty glasses– wait, plastic cups(another negative) — sat at the edge of the table our entire meal waiting for a refill. My lobster mac & cheese was inedible. It tasted as if the cook added the flour to make the cheese sauce but didn’t cook it off, so the meal just tasted like raw flour, which is gross. I also found at least 5 dime sized lobster shells in my meal. I couldn’t complain to our waitress because she never came around. Our last experience, and trust me, it will absolutely be the last time we ever go there, was on a Wednesday evening. I called in the afternoon to make a reservation and after being put on hold FOUR times was told that they do not take reservations. I told the girl that I made a reservation the previous week. She told me that she’d take it but couldn’t guarantee it. .ummm ok. We arrived, unsure if we had a reservation or not and stood at the hostess stand for at least 3 minutes(no exaggeration) while the 2 workers standing there were having a conversation about one of their husbands. You’re right, you should absolutely ignore your customers and continue your personal conversations. I was ready to leave right then but we had a sitter and were hungry. The clam cakes were good– that is the only good thing I have to say about this place. My scallops were so salty that they were inedible. I like salt too– maybe too much– but this was gross. Here is the real kicker and reason I will absolutely not go back to this restaurant– we had a $ 75 Visa Gift Card that we were going to pay for part of our meal with. According to Visa’s website and all of the commercials, it it accepted EVERYWHERE Visa is accepted… except for the Cove, apparently. Our waitress proceeded to tell us that they do not accept Visa Gift Cards because«you can go to the gas station and spend all of the money on it and then come here and try to use it and we wouldn’t know.» AREYOUKIDDINGME??? That is the most Fall River thing I have ever heard. She said that was the rule from the manager. Well, I’m sorry, but that«rule» is BS. So we spent over $ 100 on a not great dinner and weren’t able to use our gift card. Not only is the food at this restaurant terrible, but the service is an absolute disaster. THIS is why this place has 2 stars.

I wanted to go when it first opened before it got too crowded, but didn’t make it then. First visit was with a group of about 10 people many originally from the area but now living out of state. It was the second week in September so still nice out. It was large enough and could handle us. Parking was a mess, some of it is not their fault it is the roads and construction in the area. Most of out group agreed it was beautiful and a great location, but nothing to rush back to. Service was poor at best. Prices high especially with the poor service. We only had drinks and app’s they were no different than any other place we could have gone. We did order the calamari I think 3 times while we were there, the first time it came out it was pretty good but the next 2 times it was cold and oily. I went back here this past week on a week night. figured it would be quiet enough and possibly better service? Just to make sure we did make a reservation, like others mentioned it was too much work contacting them several times before getting any help, when the phone was answered I almost bailed on going there because the person that took the reservation didn’t seem to care one bit. Then when we got there thought the not caring about the reservation must be true because it could not be found? really? so first hardly answer the phone, then when you do be rude, and NOFOLLOWTHROUGH? We should have left then and there saying they don’t deserve the business! But we were there and it wasn’t too crowded so we at this point stuck it out. Took way longer to be seated than it should have, I think this may be one of the places that makes you think it is so popular by making you wait, but in the end it is not worth the wait! Once seated it took almost 10 minutes before a drink order was taken, we were ready to order everything but our server would only take the drink order at that time? Again really a wait? Why? Are they understaffed? Cant multitask? I ordered steak tips, another ordered a salad with shrimp, another a burger and the last fish and chips. We all agreed that we could find the same or better in many places in Fall River and could probably make the same food but better on our own at home. We know we wont be going back. But we figure because of their size and location there will be many holiday parties there and because people want to be seen there they will continue to have those that come in for the nice atmosphere and sub par service and poor food and above average prices.

I had been wanting to come here for quite a while because every time I drove by it was always packed. Of course it was usually a weekend night in the summer but needless to say it never seemed to slow down. I wanted to see what the hype was about, and I’m glad I finally made it! I went after the summer on a Monday night which was a hidden bonus because they apparently have a special from Sunday-Wednesday in which you get two salads, two entrees, and a bottle of wine for only $ 40. And considering the prices of the entrees this was definitely a deal! The only downside was they only had a handful of entrees to pick from but from what we saw they all seemed like great choices. I’m unfortunately not a big wine drinker and I didn’t want a big entrée that night so I opted out but a couple we were with did and it definitely looked like it was worth it. Next time I come I would like to try it out though — I’m sure I could like wine for a night!!! Other than that the service was excellent, the place was extremely clean and I loved the interior finishes. I will definitely be back!!!

Atmosphere is good/view is very nice and the interior is well-appointed and comfortable. I love the hanging lights! The service is ok. But the food menu and wine menu are exactly the same since the place has opened… Boring and boring. Need to update the menu with seasonal changes and roll in some new wines. Driving in Fall River is a nightmare, so it makes it difficult to get in and out of here, unfortunately.

Nope. Never again. This is the only restaurant I have ever gotten food poisoning from. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap with bleu cheese and I thought it tasted a little funny, but I thought maybe I was just being fussy so I disregarded it. Should have listened to my intuition because a few hours later I puked all over my brother’s bathroom. I tried to call the restaurant several times not even to bitch, but just to let them know so that nobody else would suffer a similar fate. Nobody answered! Maybe their number is online incorrectly? Who knows, but I should have been able to contact them. The interior is super nice and to be fair, I’ve had good experiences there prior to this one, but I shall never be returning to The Cove. If you’re in the The Riv and want good food, I would go to The Battleship Brew House or Sagres.

The service was my favorite part. We had a very attentive waitress, and even the bus boy was friendly and inviting. I loved that she came back to make sure my drink was okay, and offered to exchange it if it wasn’t. It left me with the impression that she really cared about my experience. The lobster roll I ordered was good. Not great but good. I found the sweet potato crispy and lightly salted. Perfect. If you’re a fan of gin, the cove soda has what you need. It was cool, refreshing, and an excellent pallet cleanser. I liked the décor. Inside, it was professional. Clean lines, great lighting, and a tasteful color scheme. Outside is more casual, scenic, and a great source of sunshine(weather permitting).

My experience at this new restaurant was very mixed. The location is pristine and the restaurant’s newly renovated décor was very well done. We ate outside overlooking the water. It is quite the beautiful deck outside complete with outdoor bar. We went for lunch and had to wait 1.5 hours for our food. Luckily, we had no where to be and the company was pleasant so the wait was not an issue… However waiting that long is a little crazy. I’ll chalk it up to this new restaurant not having its sea legs yet! The restaurant is always packed at night so they must be doing something right! Would like to try again and see if the service was faster. Food was definitely above average. Very fresh. Nice presentation.

The view is beautiful great place to come for drinks. The food is not remarkable. fried clams were overcooked and really small portion. The service wasnr that great either… we had to go through meal without being offered salt n pepper, ketchup, vinegar or drink refills. Skip on food and service.

I had the fish tacos at The Cove. The tacos are much larger then I expected, and the price was affordable, the fish was light, fluffy and fresh. The atmosphere is exciting and relaxing at the same time. I really can’t think of a better place the unwind on a Friday night. Great scenery — water, boats passing by, amazing sunsets, a battleship… Plan a night at The Cove, you won’t regret it.

So I finally made it here. I was rather excited about coming because the reviews were so mixed I wanted to make the decision for myself. We sat on the back deck and what a great deck it is! I totally recommend the deck just for drinks. However, our bartender was overworked and that was unfortunate, because she was a good bartender and didn’t need all the nonsense that was going on around her. I had the chipotle lime potato chips, which were pretty good. It was just a snacky snack, so I cannot comment on the meals. I think perhaps, and I’m talking out of my butt here, that the staff is a little unorganized, so the negative reviews are all probably stemming from that.

Really nice place. Outside dining is amazing. It was a little cold the day I went but was still nice on the patio. Live music and great views. We only got appetizers but dang they were good. Looking forward to going back and trying the dinner menu.

Great spot and fabulous dock-side bar! Nice crowd, not a bunch of 20 something’s but not senior citizens either ;D. My favorites are the Fish Tacos & buffalo Mac & cheese… which is on the appetizer menu but definitely big enough for a meal! They have live entertainment outside on weekends in the nice weather. Also a function room for events. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!

Wife and I came here for our Anniversary dinner on a Sunday evening. Place was busy and was loud. Service was good. Food was fresh and good quality. We had the little necks for our appetizer. It was great! We were just wrapping up our appetizer and our entrees was getting to our table. Timing was a tad off, but no biggie as we were finishing up the appetizer and our waitress recognized that our entrees was at our table faster than she had expected. I ordered the swordfish entrée. My meal was good. My wife ordered a house salad and had scallops added to it. She too was very pleased with the food. Our waitress was very friendly. Overall, good experience.

We were finally able to give this place a try. First, it took a few minutes before we were asked for our drink order. Not a problem, I am always very understanding when its busy. The waitress was also very nice. We ordered our drinks and an app. They both came at the same time. We ordered calamari. It was about a 7 out of 10. I’ve had better but I’ve definitely had worse. For our meals, I ordered the panko cod and my husband ordered the ahi tuna. My cod came with fingerling potatoes and asparagus. I had to send the asparagus back because it was so burnt and really didn’t even taste like asparagus. When I got the replacement, it wasn’t any better. Kinda sad when I can make better asparagus at home. The cod was good and the potatoes were not bad. My husbands meal… the tuna didn’t seem fresh, the sauce didn’t work, and the slaw/salad was ‘awful.‘ The aesthetics are nice. There were a lot of people at the bar, or just there for drinks. The service was good. Everyone was very nice. All in all, I feel the food is a tad overpriced for the quality. If I’m going to pay up to & $ 20+ for a meal, it needs to be worth it. Hopefully, if we try this place again, we will have better luck with the food.

The waitress was super-nice. She explained the the place was renovated and the new menu was debuting today! How luck are we? It was nice outside, but we stayed inside due to on-going construction. The place is nice and clean. It looks new and the menus themselves were definitely new(always a bonus). I was made aware of the Kale soup as a special which I ordered. I thought it was tasty. My mom ordered a Strawberry and Spinach salad with chicken and she said it was one of the best salads she ever had. I have to admit — it looked good! I had the Azores Burger with Portuguese peppers and an egg on top and asked that it be prepared medium-rare. Unfortunately, the food took a while and then the burger came out med-well or well-done(it was cooked all the way through — no pink). I ate the burger anyway and it was pretty good. The homemade potato chips with cajun seasoning are really good — I recommend trying them. Nice touch. I told the waitress about the wait time and my overcooked burger and she apologized. The manager came over to apologize and offered me a dessert which I took him up on. I got a Lemon Berry Marscapone cake which was really good! It was a huge slice which just about put me at my calorie limit for the day, but who cares! It reminds me a bit of the East Bay Grill in Plymouth. Hopefully, they can stay on their A game and be as busy as they are. If I’m in «Fall Reeve» are again, I have no reservations about visiting The Cove.(nice view of the retired battleships from the window, btw)

Nice location with an enormous bar. We only had the appetizer(chicken wings) which were good. The service was somewhat slow but nobody was in a rush and just enjoying the day. Will be back when the weather warms up and the deck is open!

I’ve been here twice for lunch now. The first time I cringed when someone in the group I was with suggested going here. I’ve read the Unilocal reviews and I’ve been giving this place a wide berth in hope they straighten things out. You know what? It wasn’t bad. There was only one other table at lunch time on a Sunday, but a ton of workers, most of whom were chatting at the bar. Our group had Caesar salads, greek salad and a buffalo chicken wrap. Everyone was happy with their meal and my Caesar salad was tasty. I added the sea scallops onto my salad and received three very large scallops. Considering how few people were there, the food did take quite a while to come out. It’s really nice, bright and airy inside with a large bar in the center and plenty of windows looking out onto the water. I gave this another try on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. There were a few more people there, but still fairly quiet. We started with the buffalo chicken tenders and enjoyed them. My husband had the ahi tuna and I had the scallop meal and they were both really good. Rebecca, our server was really attentive. Once again, our food did take some time to come out. It’s a little concerning since there weren’t many people in the restaurant. I wonder what it would be like in the busier summer months. I’d go back again.
