Ordered the corned beef hash, eggs with bacon. Corned beef hash was excellent, bacon was nice and thick. I ordered some corned beef hash to go before I left, I was not disappointed the next morning. Place has good feels!

I went to Raul’s Striper Café, let the waitress know I’m a vegetarian, and ordered a vegetarian omlette. The first bite had bacon. That would generally make me lose my appetite, but I chose to try again. The remake had a hair in it. I thanked and tipped the waitress and got the hell out of there.

Even tho its in tha hood it had nice service and ok food but a bit over priced for extras. I got the grits and asked to add cheese which was 75 cents xtra, what I got was a sprinkle of finely shred cheese that I could literally count each shred, WTF man! And the grits were still bland the cheese was so miniscule! Then I asked for salsa for my omlette and got about a table spoon of pace for an xtra charge of a dollar! I mean WTF man? Im just glad I didnt ask for a side of catsup cause I didnt want to have to take out a loan. So I gave it a try but now its back to Huckleberry’s I guess… WhatEves.

Choose wisely when dining here because all their food it’s that good. You are better off having breakfast at tortilla flats where you can get faster service minus the rude waitresses.

Small café that’s cozy with Delicious food. Our waitress was friendly. Chile relleno was very good and the Spanish rice was delicious. Husband ordered huevos rancheros which he rated as a 7 out of 10. Our other friend ordered the chorizo scramble. He rated it as 9 out of 10. Next time we’re driving thru I’m eating here.

Came here when Hubby and I had just moved to the area. Saw the 25% off your bill if you check-in and liked the menu. It’s an older dinner feel, good typical breakfast food mixed with mexican flare. We had tortilla, pico de gallo and rice and beans added to our meals. Our Waitress was so sweet. The girls are wearing their hair up and scarfs on their necks like the old dinners. Has two separate eating areas. Lots of older locals seem to patron here and are known well enough down to what they normally order.

Awesome old school diner! They also make amazing fried rice… which is weird, but I’m Chinese and I think it’s pretty awesome so it must be good right? lol The service is great and the food is quintessential diner food! Well except for the awesome fried rice. I’ve never had the coffee, but my boyfriend tells me it’s good coffee. Definitely recommend this place for breakfast!

Quintessential American diner. Down to the last detail. Crazy, all over the place, menu with any kind of breakfast combo you could want. Super friendly staff and great old school charm. The food is real diner food, so know what you’re in for, no vegan quinoa soy bullshit here. Saved me from my hangover thanksgiving morning.

Man I really had high hopes for this restaurant. 2 stars because the waitress was nice and all but I ordered the steak enchilada omelette with mushrooms instead of olives. She forgot the mushrooms and there were olives in my omelette so I didn’t want to be mean because I was too hungry and didn’t and want them to redo my whole omelet so I just asked the waitress if I could get mushrooms too. I got fried rice with the omelette and when I tried the rice it wasn’t hot or anything it was cold. But my gf liked the rice. So we ended up trading food. She got Belgium waffles and said it wasn’t up to her standards so we ended up switching because I like the waffles and she liked the rice. When we got the food we waited 5 minutes before we could eat because the waitress never gave us napkins and silverware. Finally, I was hoping the food would be 25% off because that’s what it says when you check in on Unilocal, but the waitress said we couldn’t get the 25% off so yeah. I’ll go back, but it won’t be soon.

Nice old school diner. Fairly standard menu with no standouts. The house made corn beef hash was excellent. Not fatty and not over salted. Reminded me of a tender lean roast beef. I will return just for that. Spouse had one pancake, one egg and one piece of bacon. The pancake was the size of a large plate! Good service. Coffee was your basic diner coffee, not much body or flavor. Not busy at 7ish am on a Saturday.

I have been coming here for 3+ years and not much has changed, I still love it! I would say the only this is a little bit of a longer wait but that’s a small price to pay for the always friendly service, Great food and enormous portions. It was always a surprise to me when we first started coming why they weren’t very busy but apparently the word has gotten out and its no longer a secret on how GREAT this place really is… Happy to see this place finally thriving!

Old remnants of Sandy’s… We ordered the kitchen sink omelette, pork chop, ground beef, and side order of chillé rellaño, all yummy choices w/fried rice to boot. It was good. Fast, friendly service. Lots of local, repeat customers… Baby had yummy grilled cheese and fries.

This is a very bustling local diner hangout. The servers and diners seem to all know each other. And I believe the chef or maybe the owner came out to say«hi» to a few people on a first name basis. My family of 4 may have been the only outsiders at the time that we dined here. We ordered burritos, pancakes & bacon, and a spinach omelet. The food was adequately flavorful and portions were large. Another plus is that they offer Raspberry Ice teas – the boys’ favorite. I had to have a coffee and the Huz had an orange juice. We had a good breakfast. My only slight complaint was that our food took an unusually long time to come out. Not sure if something was happening back in the kitchen. We were on vacation though so we took everything in stride. Vacation equals chillin’. For more on our adventures please check out my blog:

A good friend of mine has always told me to judge the validity of an old-school diner by the amount of «old-timers» that frequent it. After my visit to this place, I am starting to believe him. When I walked in, there were two locals hanging out waiting for one of the men’s son to arrive to have breakfast. I observed their conversation with each other and the waitress(one of the men actually said«I’ll have my regular» to the waitress) and it made me unbelievably happy to see a great place full of regular customers that knew each other. I also had the pleasure to enjoy one of the best breakfast burritos I have ever had at Raul’s. Try. This. Place. You will not be disappointed. Check out my posted pics for the menu and the burrito!

Great for breakfast! My husband and I both agree that this place is much better than Huckleberry’s. Recently we ordered the chicken fried steak with sides. The gravy had a nice tasty flavor. We also ordered a side pancake — pretty sure it had cinnamon in the syrup or the batter, either way it made it unique from other places. All around a yummy place to go. The service could have stepped up a bit, but it wasn’t bad.

‘Was in the area Sunday morning and wanted to try something different that wasn’t your cookie cutter, Denny’s style, typical restaurant… ‘And after a quick Unilocal*search, Raul’s Striper Café fit the bill! Store Front — I have to admit, that I was bait apprehensive after reading a few of the reviews that addressed: * Unilocal*check-in offer(25% off) — Fellow Unilocal*ers were mentioning that they were given a hard time when they attempted to use it. * SOS Menu Item — Growing up, this was only of my uncle’s specialty breakfast dishes. He was an army chef, cooking for the troops but after hearing the difference of opinion in regard to the SOS @ Raul’s, I thought it best to try something else.(I really wanted to try the SOS but I didn’t want ordering breakfast to be «Work.» I just wanted to order a nice breakfast, sit for a moment, relax & simply enjoy the start to my day… So, I passed.) Photo — * Another Unilocal*er mentioned a situation with the A/C… ‘That wasn’t too reassuring as well. Raul R., the owner/operator waved me over, we walked to a couple of tables near the front register, «Which table would you like…» I chose the one closest to the register, it gave me a better vantage point for photos. It also allowed me to have a good view of the entire front dining area to check things out. Front Dining Area — Raul was very nice, personable and working hard, bussing tables, delivering orders to the tables and keeping an eye on everything else @ the same time. Shortly after, Annie came by my table with a menu. Like Raul, she too was very friendly & professional. So, I took a few moments longer to order since the SOS was scratched from my list… I asked Annie what was their most popular breakfast item, «There isn’t… ‘I could easily tell you the top 20 but there isn’t any one in particular.» She was very helpful BUT that did not really help me make deciding an easier. So, I started w/a coffee… ‘Good coffee. Photo — Two Locations: Rio Vista(Est. 2007) and Fairfield(Est. 2011) Photo — ‘Then I saw it on the menu, like a lighthouse in the fog… Linguica!(Portugese sausage) A Hawaii favorite! ‘And nothing says comfort to a local than linguica, eggs & rice. Raul’s Stripe Café served fried rice rather than white with the plate…(Shrugs) «Okay, I’m game!» Price: $ 9.50 *I thought, it’s a bit pricey for breakfast but let’s see what $ 10 gets you… Breakfast is served! Back Dining Area — The linguica was tasty, I had wanted to ask what brand it was… ‘Curious to see if it was a local favorite.(«Silva» is a popular brand.) ‘And it wasn’t a handful of slices, it was the whole link! Awesome! «WHOLE’Y LINGUICA!» Photo — The eggs were cooked perfectly, over-easy and nicely seasoned. However, their version of friend rice was not what I expected… ‘This was the first time I’ve ever had buttery fried rice. I am used to savory rather than buttery and it was A LOT of butter. So much, as it diluted the flavor of the other ingredients… 75% of the flavor was just butter. As I paid, I asked Annie if white rice was available, she said yes but not too many people order it… So, I asked, «So, the next time I come in, may I have white rice?»(Traditonally, back on the island, white rice is the norm.) Annie hesitated in answering me so I took that as a «Definite maybe.»(Translation: Probably not) When I checked-in, their Unilocal*offer popped up and when I presented it to Annie, no problem in redeeming it. My ticket — Grand Total: $ 12.55 With check-in offer: $ 12.41(+ tip) Raul’s Striper Café: A solid 4 Stars The atmosphere and service was relaxed, friendly & personable. The portions, good, as well as the overall value. A big mahalo to Raul & Annie, who made my first visit here a good one, worth a return trip. Raul R. - **However, I’m still curious about Raul’s version of the SOS… That’s a definite maybe. — Big Aloha! Food: 3+ Service: 4 Ambiance: 3+ Value:
