Parkwood Apartments

My fiancé and I are relocating to Fairfield in August and our apartment hunting experience was less than pleasant… that is until we got to Parkwood. Jamie was amazing and very very personable. We found other apartments that are around the same price but honestly we are moving here because of how connected we felt to Jamie almost instantly. She is really thorough about explaining things to us. She made the application process easy and as pleasant as possible. We can’t wait to move in… then I can bother Jamie and Michelle everyday.

Landed here because we needed a place to stay asap, and being new to the area we didn’t know of any other places and so far it has been THE WORST apartment complex I’ve ever lived in, and the manager is awful at her job. They are not worth $ 1,095plus, yes plus because rent keeps going up and the inside is so not worth all that money. Ancient dishwashers, as well as cabinets and fridges. Mold friendly even if you open your windows on a daily basis. Hidden fees, don’t be late on utilities because you’ll be charged $ 50 on top of your share of the utilities. Since when did any bill have a $ 50 dollar late fee??! Maybe $ 10 – 20 and thats still pushing it. Garbage, sewage and water are one big bill and manager splits it up between all the tenants which makes no sense because some people don’t use $ 60 dollars worth of water. If you pay rent on the fourth (where did the five day grace period go?)make sure it is there before she gets to work or hand it to her as soon as she opens or it will be late and you’ll need another $ 50 dollars on top. But you might not be so lucky she might just hit you with that $ 50 anyway. Manager is not friendly, she’s rude, doesn’t work with people, (Hope she never needs a break in life).
Pool is always dirty, no central heating or ac, so summer and winters here suck. Homeless people are still dumpster diving, my car was broken into, so much for «closed» community. The side gate that opened only with a key had its handle broken which let many people in took a half year to fix it. Oh and did i mention the recent mouse that was finally caught?! Sick!!!
Definitely NOT military friendly, because manager doesn’t care when your military orders come up, she expects the full month rent to be paid even if you vacate mid month which most apartments pro-​rate the amount of rent. According to her you cannot leave before the actual order dates so you can’t take leave before that?! I mean who is she to tell me i can’t take leave to move my family first or find a place?! Obviously she knows nothing about how military works.
I think what gets me the most are the hidden fees, they are out to get your money please stay away!!! READ YOUR CONTRACT! IT DOES NOT TALK ABOUT ALL THE FEES, its like she makes them up as they go. I know for a fact I’m not the only tenant that feels this way. Can’t wait to get the hell out this dump!!!

I would also like to point out their laundromat washers and dryers use a prepaid card system rather than quarters which is so much easier!
