So, I’ve worn hair extensions on and off for years, actually going all over the country — Portland OR, Fall Church VA, LA, CA, San Jose, CA, Seattle WA etc… in search of the skill. Low and behold, the best extension artist in the US is living right here in Fairfield, CA! I had strand by strand fusion extensions placed this week. Nickolette listens first of all. She understands when her client has experiences and knows what works and actually works. Awesome. Then, she also knows hair and growth patterns and what works for placement — and this is huge when you’re an extension wearer. She agreed to use my hair — as I had a ton of left over Bohyme that is just the best hair ever — light and fine and easy to wear, plus matches my own so well. The strand by strand fusion pieces were micro extensions — or thinner pieces than usual, because I have fine fragile hair and she custom mixed the different colors I had brought with me which was awesome. Now this did take quite awhile to complete — but then, this was my first visit with her and she not only placed the extensions but also colored my hair first to match the best and cut the extensions into my own hair quite well — another talent that is difficult to find because extensions tend to be choppy unless you’re using all the length the hair comes with — which is probably the best thing to do because the ends of the extensions are then tapered at the bottom rather than blunt. Anyways — I got a little off topic… Additionally, Nickolette is a very talented colorist — so isn’t that a cool combo! She put so many different colors of red into my graying red hair, that I left feeling sunkissed! Between her color and the extension strand color mixing — it just looks so fabulous! I just got these on Tuesday so its a little young for this review, however, I can say — normally the first hair wash after extensions, I would experience a ton of shedding of the extensions plus lose at least one extension strand. I washed today, no shedding! Amazing. Plus — no lost strands! Most excellent! Such a better experience than I had first planned elsewhere — where that other extensionist was hell bent on talking me into wearing a weft attached at 4 – 5 points by a bead! What year is this anyway — 2001? The year of wearing weft extensions is so over! Thank goodness I found Nickolette and she responded to my inquiry! I’ll post an update as time passes. I expect only the best! Call her!
