Ordered a chicken Caesar salad to go. Had to ask for a bag and utensils. Apparently I was silly to assume that my salad would come with dressing on it(or on the side). I got back to work and my salad had no dressing on it or on the side, and there were only 3 small pieces of chicken. I called to ask if their salads usually come with dressing and they said yes, but for to go orders they are usually on the side, and they must have forgotten it. When I said I had no dressing and hardly any chicken they said I could talk to a manager but they couldn’t do much since I already left. I’m upset I paid $ 12 for a little lettuce and some croutons.

I came here for breakfast with a friend. We both got the croissant with 2 eggs, cheese and bacon with a side of fruit. The meal was overall great, the employees were also attentive. The food was served to us quickly. The only thing that threw us off was the fact that when we looked up, there was spider webs on the lamp. It wasn’t just ours but every other booth did too. This made us question the sanitation of the place, but other than that the restaurant is a great place to eat at.

The food was different. Not a single person in our party of 6 really enjoyed any of it. Went on Mother’s Day where there is a unique menu, wish they had told us that before we waited over an hour for our table. Called and was told they didn’t take reservations, showed up and was asked if we had a reservation. Really? Pick a policy. Finally after a long wait, our table was called, gave up our seats and checked in and was then forgotten about. When checked in 1st was rudely told that we had to wait our turn by one hostess, waited a few more minutes and checked with another and was told«they didn’t seat you yet, let me grab someone». Consistently poor service, food was okay but poorly executed, food was knocked off the plate with another one but the plate was still served. Ordered one beverage and was given another. It will be awhile before we give Mimi’s another chance.

Mimi’s is really just an average chain restaurant. Somehow, we always end up going here for breakfast/brunch on Mother’s Day, which I guess is fine because my mom usually seems to love it, but I just don’t really get the appeal. It’s a heck of a lot of food. The food is never really very appetizing. Think Olive Garden. Everything typically comes with a muffin and a little side salad. The best thing that the restaurant usually has is the bread and the muffin. Mom seems to be into the French Onion soup but that just doesn’t really seem very good to me. Although, I guess after saying all of this, Mimi’s is really one of Fairfield’s best restaurants. Fairfield doesn’t really have a ton to offer in terms of cuisine. So if you need a brunch spot in Fairfield, this is probably where you are goig.

EXCELLENTCHOICEFORBREAKFAST! Mimi’s Café in Fairfield is located across the street from Macy’s at the Mall. It’s a nice setting and the building is attractive, modern with an Old World appearance and a lot of «curb appeal.» I was promptly greeted and seated and coffee and ice water came very quickly. The menu is extensive. Since I was having breakfast, I opted for Corned Beef Hash Benedict and boy was it good! It came within 5 minutes of ordering. The atmosphere inside is nice. The soft music in the background added to the dining experience. This would be a great place for a large group. I will be back!

Allison was our server. She was friendly & extremely attentive. I was on a first date. Typically servers play up to the male as the guy usually pays; Allison made sure we were equally taken care of. She was quick & our orders were served in adequate time. She kept an eye on our water glasses & was on top of asking how the evening was going. She was polite & professional. My date was rude to her & we both knew it. He paid the ticket. I suggested I leave a tip. I gave her 29%. She deserved more, but all I had was 10 bucks. The calamari & guacamole appetizers were good. The serving sizes? Plentiful. Pinot was ok. The restaurant was clean, bathrooms well attended, & the manager Robert friendly & professional. The rest of the staff seemed in good spirits & the overall atmosphere cozy & welcoming. I’ll be back & requesting Allison for sure!

If I had reviewed this place last year I probably would have rated it 3 stars and had said there food was nothing special… But I have explored their menu and tried different items and can say I am now in love with this cozy little restaurant and their comfort food. I use to only order their steak which may have been the issue. Their French onion soup is delicious! Today they burnt the cheese and I am from now on ordering it that way every time. It made the soup taste spectacular with a burnt cheese hat on top! I have tried their turkey plate which gives you a thanksgiving feel and is my go to option for a lighter meal. It is actually pretty tasty as well! Their half roasted chicken is pretty good too but my ultimate favorite meal is their turkey, Brie and apple sandwich! It comes on a croissant and is absolutely delightful! It beats SF boudin’s Brie and apple sandwich by far! Instead of fries or a salad I upgrade to a soup and of course it’s French onion every time. Mango mimosa is a must and if you have room for dessert try their apple cobbler! You will not be disappointed! Service is always phenomenal and they have a very friendly staff in all. Definitely recommend giving this place more then one try!

My husband and I just ate here with our 2 young kids, in the middle of a long drive home from Tahoe. The children were very restless and our server David went above and beyond to make sure our experience was comfortable and pleasant. First of all, my husband asked if they had milkshakes, David replied«No, sorry» but then went and HANDMIXED a milkshake for our kids on the house, because he said they deserved it. Then, he moved us to a closed section of the restaurant so they would have freedom to roam without disturbing other customers. I ordered Steak and frites which was alright, he forgot my caesar salad and brought it promptly and took it off the bill. The food in general was a 3 but the service was a 10!!! Thank you David, you made our night, best service ever… I wish I could put you at Ruth Chris so you could get the tips you really deserve, but just know you made our night awesome!

I’ve been trying to decide what category of dining Mimi’s fits into. The best way to describe Mimi’s is «upscale Denny’s with alcohol». It’s sort of one of those places that’s ok, but not super memorable. They bill themselves as a French café, or at least a New Orleans style French café, but the menu is a highly Americanized version of café cuisine. The hubs and I had dinner last night at Mimi’s and while we found it ok, it was only just ok. I had a quiche florentine and a cup of French onion soup, and the Hubs had grilled salmon. The portion sizes were well matched with the prices, and it seemed to be a decent value for money. My quiche was yummy and came with sides of a garden salad and a muffin. The soup was pretty good too. The Hubs salmon-which came with sautéed spinach and au gratin potatoes-was sadly overcooked and rather burned on one half of one side. The kitchen served the fish with the burned side down so he didn’t notice it until he was halfway done with it. Our service was so agonizingly slow, that he decided not to send it back as waiting for another piece of fish would have made us late to our movie. So he just ate around the burned bit, and left the charred remains on the plate. Would I return to Mimi’s? Maybe if a friend wanted to eat there, but I’m not sure I’d seek out another meal there. Everything was simply mediocre: Not great but not terrible either. It was just food.

Eh, ok. As usual, everytime we think of coming to this place, I leave saying it was ok. I was excited over the lemon poppy seed waffle or pancakes. I chose the waffles and tried it and really nothing to rave about. I ordered scrambled eggs and well, it was a soft scramble. I like hard scramble, my bad, I should have asked for it specifically that way. Hubby ordered the Santa Fe omelet and he seemed to like it. His side English muffin toast was burnt though. Wth– they couldn’t even toast it right and had the nerve to serve it. Smh! Other than that, service was good. Our waitress was nice. It wasn’t busy at all so I expected her to be attentive. We will probably come back in another year or two and feel the same again. Hmmm.

The inside of the restaurant is nice. I ordered the brioche burger; sadly, I did not get a burger with a brioche bun and the patty itself was chewy and slightly tangy. The service wasn’t great either: The waitress didn’t check on us regularly and tended to be absent for long periods of time.

Being generous about our dinner. The food was fine, good infact, my wife’s Bacon, Onion Cheeseburger was a hit, my N.Y. steak was suitably tender and properly rare as requested, the fries were plentiful, some crisp but some soft, they could have used hotter oil or a longer time in the fryer. Our companions, 8 in all, were also happy with their food and liked their desserts as well. One person did not get their dinner salad??? It never came. Overall the service was good with some small glitches, the forgotten salad and the long initial wait for food spoiled the very tactful and generally attentive table service.

Like this place for breakfast and lunch. Their chicken crepes is what I like best. Place is not as cozy but manageable. They also serve dinner for thanksgiving if you don’t feel like cooking at home. Try their food. French style cooking. You may like it.

My hubby and I loved Mimi’s when we lived in utah. We always had great service there and the food(plus the free bread basket before your meal is served) is delicious! We’ve been to this franchise in Fairfield a couple of times. We still love the food, the taste hasn’t changed at all. However, I’ve been pretty disappointed with the service. I don’t quite understand why the servers can ignore you for a long time before deciding that it’s time to take your order. And they expect a tip for bad service? The service definitely needs work. But the food, delicious as always.

It had been a while since we’d been to Mimi’s. We just left Larry’s Produce & we were hungry! The menu has changed quite a bit since we were there last. It seems simpler, easy to navigate. JK ordered a BLT, side salad and soda. I had the chicken, with avocado and Swiss cheese sandwich, with a side of fries and their strawberry lemonade. The BLT had a good amount of bacon! It looked good! The chicken sandwich had plenty of avocado, but tasted kinda plain. The side salad looked fresh, JK enjoyed that as well. The side of fries were kinda soggy, again not a lot of flavor. Their strawberry lemonade was not too sweet or tart. It was refreshing and delicious. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. She checked on us several time throughout our lunch. Food was hit & miss. The BLT was a hit, while the chicken & avocado sandwich was a miss.

One of our go to places. Services is always good and food is a great value. I almost always get the blue cheese walnut salad with blackened chicken. It comes with a muffin too. I recommend the butter milk spicd as its probably the best. The kids Mac and cheese is also really good. I don’t know what’s in it, but it taste great. My daughter had left overs and I finished without hesitation. Free Fresh bread is always served at dinner time. They servre carrot bread and sourdough bread. I think they bring it out only after you order your meal. They all their fries«frites ‚» and they’re nothing special. Just your usual French fries. Their breakfasts tacos are especially a great value. You can also order it as dinner or lunch time.

On a recent quest on revisiting places I’ve dined many years ago, Mimi’s Café was on the hit list. I’ve come to learn the menu has changed and now caters on a lower price point than what I remembered. Not a bad thing and certainly understandable due to changes throughout the years especially since 2002. Had the opportunity to try both the Bouillabaisse, Meatloaf & Mash. Both were great dishes as it was perfect to have on a cool evening. Complimentary warm bread were included and a $ 5 wine glass promotion. Also tried the Fried Calamari. The calamari rings were larger than what I usually get at other places, but it wasn’t bad at all. From the waitress to the servers, the overall service was great. If chance permits, I would like to try their other dishes.

A tip from my folks… «Try the French Onion Soup!» I average a visit here about once a year. On our most recent visit(Tues, Jan 6), my folks and I met up with my aunt and uncle from the bay area. We arrived at 11:30 a.m. and our party of five was seated right away. The place was clean, and the hostess was present. Our waitress arrived at our table promptly with a kind-hearted greeting, and took great care of us throughout our visit. My uncle had the pot roast and cleaned his plate without complaint. My mom and dad had the French Onion soup, which is really the only reason why they insist on going to Mimi’s, my dad had a half-Turkey Club sandwich(still a big sammich!), and my aunt and I had the Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich. The sandwiches were of respectable quality. I’m not going to rave over the sammich like a lunatic(see my last review), but I would order mine again. The bread on the Chicken Cordon Bleu sammich is fantastic, and we all agreed that the frites were most delish. Overall it was a great experience. I’m not in Fairfield that often, but this place is always a solid choice to grab a bite while rolling down I80. Perhaps I’ll get here more often this year. Four stars! Thanks Mimi!
