A strap on my sandals broke, and they were able to make it look like new. I’ve worn them once since picking up, and they felt secure. Warning, though: they only take cash.

I wish I had read LM’s review before going back to this lady to do some alterations! I had pants hemmed before and was happy with the result and price. Maybe things have changed since they fixed up the mall and they have to charge more… but I bought a dress on sale at j crew… it was slightly too loose. I instructed her to take it in… small job since there were seams down the side already… I sew but was busy and didn’t have time to do it myself! When she quoted me the price I almost fell over… but thought the time savings was worth it. When I tried it on, one side was stretched out the other side seam hung fine. When I asked her to fix it she tried to press it which stretched it more and offered to fix her mistake for $ 10 more! I will never come back! So for $ 10 she lost a good customer… what ever happened to. customers being satisfied with your work?

I thought I liked this place. They sent my shoes out for resole work once and those came back lovely. Also, once I had a button fixed on a pair of jeans, and that work came out decent too, I thought I had found a nice place closer to home to get things worked on. However, my latest experience at this place in a world where shops like this practically exist on every corner will keep me from returning or recommending this place ever again! A couple of years ago I was asked to be a bridesmaid in my friends wedding. I purchased a designer $ 800 dress, and had it taken up here because it was slightly too long. The wedding was canceled and the newly altered dress just sat in my closet in its protective bag until recently. Recently, I wore it for a fashion event at Nordstrom. I walked the runway one time and had the dress on for one hour tops. In that short period of time the very poorly sewn seam came completely undone. I told University Tailor what happened and they said«bring it back any time and we fix for you.» Well I must have misunderstood what they meant by that because when I brought the dress back for repair, instead of offering to correct their shoddy work for free they tried to charge me, AGAIN! She then said she doesn’t guarantee her work for that long. WHAT, ANHOUR??? I’m sorry, but I can’t afford to pay for the same poorly executed work to be done over and over and over again. That’s just bad business practice. They should have stood behind their work. I am terribly disappointed and will never return! I should have stuck with getting my dresses done at Bobbies Bridal, their seamstress has never let me down! BTW, I should also mention the seam on my tea length dress was uneven when I got it back. If you DO decide to take a chance and try this place, don’t bring anything expensive here or you WILL regret it.
