Tropical Smoothie Cafe

Tropical Smoothie Café is like a shining light that beams out of the fast food wasteland of suburban Fairfax. It is a welcome addition to this area. Besides the great smoothies, we love the Chipotle Chicken Flatbread and Rustic Turkey Apple Club sandwiches. The limited edition grain bowls are both delicious. Service is fast and cheerful. Great place!

Tropical Smoothie Café is a café with food and smoothies. The smoothies are usually very good and tasty. The staff here is amazingly friendly and somewhat quick with your orders. But the restaurant itself is usually very dirty after the morning rush, because of George Mason University and a high school down the street. The smoothies get this like watery, flavor juice at the end, which temps me to buy a smaller smoothie, but nonetheless I get the Cherry Limeade one usually. The food here is ok, nothing special, it seems like it may be microwaved to order? The best part of the food here though is the Apple and Kale Slaw, I just wish the portion of that was a little bigger than a Dixie Cup.
Overall: It’s a great place to just gel out and get a smoothie, but ONLY a smoothie. And add some kale slaw and even a Jamaican Jerk Chicken Wrap.

First timer here at Tropical Smoothie Café! I must say I had a pretty awesome experience. I came in pretty tired after classes at GMU and wanted a different alternative than going to Smoothie King and I found out this place was located across the street! First thought: LUCKY! I came in and was greeted with a smile from the cashier and he allowed me to take my time with looking through the menu. I decided ordering the Acai Berry Boost. While waiting the cashier was singing and dancing to Jessie J’s BangBang which just made my day with the high energy (btw the place was empty and not many customers the time I came in and, furthermore, he was still working proficiently). I received my order and went to my car and tried the smoothie. IT TASTED AMAZING! I will definitely recommend this place to my friends especially those who want to switch up what they intake and it’s very convenient for students at the Mason campus. I will go back and maybe next time try the other things they have like salads and sandwiches.

I ordered a smoothie and half sandwich. Sandwich was one piece of bread with barely anything in it and some lettuce. Blueberry bliss smoothie tasted like purple water. Won’t be visiting this location again.

THEY ROCK! Lovely staff that greets you kindly. Always welcomes you with a smile. They know their product (which is important!). Anytime I tell them what mood I’m in and what they recommend they are spot on. Chicken pesto flat bread is a dream.

Not the best layout and usually confused as to where I should wait. Besides all that, it’s an awesome place with very friendly crew members (sometimes too friendly it freaks me out —lol— but I’m not complaining!)

So excited there’s a Tropical Smoothie in the Fairfax/​Springfield/​Burke area! I was debating between the Peaches n’ Silk smoothie and the new Watermelon Mojito, and one if the staff automatically offered to make me a peach mojito smoothie, and it was delicious! There is extremely limited seating, so don’t plan on getting a table at lunch. My biggest complaint is that the food items don’t have descriptions of the food. You have to look on the paper menu. Didn’t try the food, but will definitely be back.

Brand new! Looks pretty good. Enjoyed my chicken caesar wrap. Place does not have much seating and it’s really tight inside when there is a line. Otherwise so far so good! Can’t wait to see how this place does in the shopping center
