Highly recommended — but very over hyped! This establishment has the potential for greatness but did not live up to the expectation by any means… The service was lackluster. Our server was clearly disinterested in us for favor of a larger party who was running up a larger bar tab… TWICE we ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes only to turn them away(they were cold in the middle). Clearly someone does not understand that dipping something in a batter and flash frying is NOT cooking… The pizza entrée and burger for our party were okay but nothing spectacular. Not sure I would spend $ 12 for a mediocre burger in Fairfax/Burke area again. Desert ordered TWICE by TWO servers but came separate and delayed our checkout… Needs work to deserve a better rating. NOT busy tonight which also added insult to injury. The was just not a good service experience for the price. ~bp

I have been here once as as a suggestion from one of my friends. I do not know if it was the particular night but our service(we sat at the bar) was slow. We decided to split a pizza which came cold and we were never asked nor visited again after the pizza arrived. The beers were good but nor worth going back to again.

Made reservations(for 10) here for my daughters graduation lunch based on location and previous Unilocal reviews. First, they have a huge space and plenty of room for larger parties during this busy time of year. We had 10 people so we had a chance to taste plenty of dishes. We ordered the pretzel and Crab Gratin for appetizers. The pretzel is huge and super fresh and soft inside. The crab gratin was AMAZING! My husband who usually turns away from the normal spinach or crab dip sort of dishes. He loved the crab gratin. I don’t know how to describe it besides — it’s a MUSTTRY! We almost ordered two. It comes w/toasted flat bread sprinkled with some sea salt I believe. My nephew ordered the 101 burger and there wasn’t a crumb left to be found on his plate. His girlfriend ordered the Texan — she loved it! The meat was cooked perfectly! My daughters boyfriend ordered the Frenchie — again, meat was cooked to perfection, the cheese was a perfect compliment and again, not a crumb left. The Wedge salad was the best wedge salad I’ve ever had. The blue cheese dressing tasted homemade and had the right amount of cheese clumps w/the dressing. Also, the salad comes w/a little bacon. Who doesn’t love bacon? We also ordered the Porkie Fig pizza — YUM! Again, the perfect amount of figs and goat cheese. Our daughter and her boyfriend had the spicy BBQ chicken pizza. There was one slice from each pizza left and we switched so that we could try both. The service was outstanding. We ordered quite a few extras and sides overall and everything came super fast, w/a smile, and correct. Water was refilled often as well. Another special plus — my husband broke the flower vase in the parking lot. The bartender offered to give us a glass to use while we were there. Restrooms were also very clean as was the restaurant. The openness and high ceiling was awesome. We will definitely come back and tell others about this place!

Got the brunch hash and was a little let down. It was 2 small cubes of short rib over home fries with two eggs. I guess I was expecting«hash» to mean it was going to be diced meat. But with that said, it was ok. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was clean and modern. I guess I just need to come back and try one of their burgers. To sum up, it was just average but nothing really spectacular.

Rounded down from 3.4 Been meaning to go here for a while and I finally gave it a try. Located in the newly renovated University Mall right across from George Mason, Oh George is tucked away on the back side of the plaza with enough parking for everybody. They have high top tables seating outside, while the inside offers booths as well as long tables perfect for groups. Its décor is simple, yet appealing. I also love their open wall during the summer concept(couldn’t think of a better way to describe it lol). Our server was gone for longer than I’d want him to at times, but very friendly nonetheless. Onto the good staff now :) They have a great selection of wines, beers and cocktails. I couldn’t decide between a Grapefruit Rosemary Mule or a Cucumber Jalapeño Caipirinha, so I ended up getting them both and they were both quite delicious. The Mule lacked in alcohol a bit, but it was very refreshing; and the jalapeño spiciness in the caipirinha enhanced the alcohol taste to perfection. Needless to say, the drinks were on point. My friend and I started with an order of Crab Gratin — pure deliciousness on a plate! I could’ve easily licked off the dip out of the bowl, but we were in public lol and it came with a generous amount of tasty toasted flatbread. Even though we were pretty full after our appetizer, we also got 2 entrees: a Frenchie burger and Steak Frites. Unfortunately, the burger was just alright — nothing memorable. And the steak wasn’t all that either. We also ordered their Key Lime Torte for dessert and it just wasn’t it. I didn’t even finish it and anyone who knows me will tell you that I rarely leave the dessert unfinished hahaha The prices were a bit high for Fairfax and for what they offered. All in all, I had a pretty good experience. I can definitely see myself coming back just for drinks and something to munch on, but doubtfully for dinner.

So… I’ve been here twice. It’s about what you can expect from a place that is trying to pretend Fairfax is a cute, chummy college town, and that«Oh George» is a phrase that is going to happen. It’s never going to happen, Gretchen! Stop trying to make«Oh George» happen!!! The first time I went, whatever. Farm to table, blah. Craft beers on tap, meh. Outdoor fires, I’ve seen better. Eight dollar beers so you can pretend you’re in Arlington pretending to be in DC. (I’m moving away soon. I think it’s time.) The second time, I was wearing a graduation gown and it was after 9PM and I was STARVING because daaang a lot of people actually go to Mason! It took forever to get through all those names. Interesting for a place that always seemed so dead. Oh, commuter schools! Oh, George! Four of us sat at a table and a host or someone said the waiter would be over soon. Meanwhile, my stomach is eating itself. Nothing happened for like 10 minutes, so we asked another host what was up. They said someone would be there soon. It wasn’t dead, but it wasn’t packed either. Clearly everybody who had just graduated from Mason had to drive back to Woodbridge to go to bed or whatever. Ten more minutes go by and we haven’t even been given a waiter. We start to worry that we’re just going to die here as overeducated husks of humans in our graduation gowns or something. So we roll out and go to somewhere we know we’ll be treated with respect: Hooters.

I came here this past Saturday afternoon with a good friend from college, and neither of us were particularly blown away by the experience. In a word, it was just ‘meh’. We purposely chose this place because we wanted to sit outside; I will say the outdoor seating is one of the positive attributes that they have going for them. Our server, Chris, was pleasant and attentive enough but nothing during our visit stood out as a WOW factor. Our food was decent(I got the buffalo wings since I’ve been on a serious wings kick lately — so healthy, I know.), as was the drink I ordered(their Apple-tini) but I was not overly impressed by any of the aforementioned. I was also a bit surprised by the overall lack of options; this could be because we came at lunch and not dinner but I was expecting more appetizer options, for instance. It was pretty slow — and quiet — outside so we were able to hold a conversation with no trouble. However, I can’t speak for the inside since neither of us ventured indoors. Location-wise, it is a little tricky to find(it is at the back of the somewhat-large shopping complex located off Braddock) but there is plenty of parking. In addition to the fact that there is outdoor seating here, I will also add that I really like the name: George is a solid name in general, it was my late grandfather’s name, and also how fitting considering the location(perpendicular to GMU’s campus). I’m not sure I would come here again unless I’m in the area but I would not deter anyone from going; it simply lacks anything that sets it apart from your other average, mid-price-range restaurants offering American fare.

4.5 stars! I think I would have to come back again to solidify my rating because there’s something that’s preventing me from giving it 5 stars. Anyways, so I decided to make a reservation because previous Unilocal had made it seem like making a reservation would be helpful. I called when they opened to set up a reservation and it was a very easy process. So my group members that I met had arrived at the restaurant before me and they were seated. When I arrived, there wasn’t a hostess at the stand so I had to go find my group members on my own. The restaurant is very large and I really liked the vibe of the restaurant! It’s got a nice patio and it’s very open. They keep it clean and I like the open bar set up with all their beers on display. The utensils are clean and the place setting looks nice. So onto dinner. We ordered the Frenchie burger, the mussels and the Forager. The portion of the mussels is pretty good! It’s not a ton, but it’s a good size. I really liked though that all the mussels were plump and they all opened! They also tasted really good too! The sauce that they were in was really nice and light! The sauce had a nice wine taste too. The bread was also nice. It breaks the taste and I would probably order it again. The super cheap person in me thinks they were priced a little too high, but I see that other Unilocalers have noted that they saw the price as a little steep. I’d agree with this. This is probably part of the reason why I took off a star. I think if they were priced at 10 $, it would be perfect! The burger was huge;!! I was impressed!($ 12) They use a slightly different burger bun. It was interesting. I think I like the original bun better but this was a good one too! I liked how they put a lot of the other ingredients listed on the menu in it. There was a lot of arugula, onions and sauce. I also really liked the fact that it came with a bunch of fries!!! That was amazing! The fries were pretty good. Nothing special about them and nothing bad about them either. I think it was worth the price because they gave a lot of meat and they weren’t skimpy about the amount of fries. The pizza was pretty good! The price was just right for it!($ 12) I liked the taste, but I was also slightly underwhelmed by the the amount of mushrooms on it. There really wasn’t that much and I don’t know why, but I just expected a little more. I know in my picture it appears that there is a lot, but once you bit it, it felt like there wasn’t much. I also would have liked more pesto. The pesto tasted really good! If only they had added more pesto and had less cheese. But, I bet they were catering to the average American who likes overly cheesy pizza. Maybe next time, if I order it I’ll ask for less cheese and extra pesto. I actually really liked the crust. I usually never like the crust of the pizza but this time I did. Probably because it was thin crust and it was nice and crisp. You could also taste the wine in it too ! Had a nice aftertaste in my mouth ! The service was good. I don’t think I have anything negative to say. I know a lot of people said they didn’t like the waiters but ours was nice. She explained the different beers and she didn’t mess up our orders and she asked us how everything was so all in all, it was good! I think the manager stopped by .? He wore a different outfit than all the waiters. He came by and asked if the lighting was okay and if it was too dark and I thought that it was nice that he asked! Very attentive! I definitely want to come back again to this restaurant to try other things on the menu!

This is a new restaurant in the remodeled Giant shopping center right across from Mason. I am certain that the name is no accident. Me, DH, and Mom decided to try it out for lunch while I was up for Haircut Weekend. The place is really great looking. They have a patio with those rollup garage doors which were open on our visit. There’s a HUGE bar, some booths and tables scattered around it, and what looked like another mover private dining area. Now Mom doesn’t know much about beer. DH was trying to find out what kind she might like when the bartender walked over with some small samples for her to taste. That was very much appreciated! I would’ve liked to see some more VA beers on the list, but there were options for each of us. We could’ve ordered off the brunch menu — but we all decided on burgers. Now, if you have read some of my other reviews you know I like a good burger. These did NOT disappoint. Mine was perfectly cooked to «some pink» and served with fries that I couldn’t stop eating. I had the Hottie burger which had a good amount of heat to it. Warning — stay away if you don’t love the spicy with all your heart. This is on our short list to go back to the next time I am in town.

Oh George reminds me of Yard House in the newish Springfield Mall. It’s a step up from Glory Days, Ruby Tuesdays, and the like. I came with my cousin for dinner and ordered a glass of wine and salad. I wasn’t particularly hungry. The salads are MASSIVE, and quite delicious. I ordered the Thai salad for $ 10. Not too much dressing, and hearty. It’s definitely an entrée salad, not a side salad. It’s not special but they have a good beer selection and have all the typical cocktails I love(mojitos, moscow mules, etc). Vegetarian options are salads and pizza.

GREATGREATGREAT, environment, service, food drinks, ambiance etc. etc. MUSTGO! I can only imagine this place is good all times of the day. They have this Spicy Thai Shrimp Pizza, its sounded good it was good LITERALLY I WOULDCOMEBACKJUSTTOHAVETHATPIZZA and they had a nice soup of the day. Alot of local and non local beer selections, I had a flight 4oz of four different beers, in order of like the Kentucky Bourbon was awesome(its actually prepared or stored in a bourbon barrel!), Blonde Hunny was a nice lager like Blue Moon but x8 and next the Lost Coast Tangerine was the same but the orange was a little much for my personal liking, then Satans Pony which was okay but not my speed. Overall its not the cheap maybe $ 14 a dish but well worth it!

A few of my neighbors had really enjoyed their visits to this local pub. I read mixed reviews but wanted to give it a try. We had a party of 6 women and had made same day reservations. This is located in the University Mall shopping center, behind the Brione’s Grill(long time establishment that you can see off Braddock Rd). There’s plenty of parking and Oh George’s has an outdoor patio. It was cold and rainy on our visit so we opted for the indoor dining. While waiting for others to arrive, we grabbed a few seats at the bar. Happy hour was still going on until 6:00pm. All wine by the glass was $ 6 and drafts were $ 2 off their regular price. The bar staff was awesome! They were friendly, fast to serve and provided some fun conversation. We were seated in the back of the restaurant at a nice big table. Our server was«MEH’, not bad but not great. He was just MEH. We had to ask for water refills, additional things, etc. The place was NOT busy. The food was average. I ordered a Patty Melt which is served on Marble Rye. The bread was lightly toasted but it overpowered the ‘patty’. I was able to substitute the fries(comes with it) for asparagus for an additional $ 2. Yup, paid $ 2 for 6 asparagus. I probably should have stuck to the fries. It was an average sandwich with asparagus for $ 15! That’s a lot of $$ for a very small patty and 6 asparagus. Others in my group ordered Salmon, Crabcake Sandwich, Pizza, Mussels, and entrée salads. The portions looked average for the price point of $ 13 to $ 20. No one really raved about their food and most packed up the food for take-out. If service was more accommodating and if the food was tastier, then I might give them 4 stars, but this review was more closer to 3.5 stars. The stars are for the awesome bar staff!

I thought this place was great. The atmosphere was very casual and modern. Very relaxing. The design was interesting and the George theme was pretty funny. They have a good menu. American bar food that is a little more upscale — you can’t go wrong. I got the ahi tuna salad. That was really fresh and not too filling. My sister got the buffalo wings which were delicious. We also got a charcuterie pizza(meats and cheese!) and the spicy bbq pizza. They were personal pizza sized and the crust was crispy and not too thick. I do wish the crust was a little softer and thicker, but that’s only my personal preference. For dessert we shared the fried Oreos with ice cream… omg…try them. Our server was so great, she was very sweet and attentive. Overall great experience. Will have to try this place for happy hour.

The staff was friendly & I really liked the brisket BBQ pizza(it was a daily item not a menu item) Seating was a challenge(might try calling ahead next time) and we decided to take spots at the bar. The staff was friendly but service was slow. I stopped checking the time after 40 minutes. Hubby had a burger and I had a pizza, those are just not things you expect to take so long. We really thought we had allotted enough time, especially when we took bar seats but ended up cutting it super close. I plan to visit again, allot more time, and try seating(instead of the bar). I did try a beer I enjoyed and hubby liked the specialty ginger ale they sell by the bottle. Slow service and the prices leave me thinking while we will probably visit again at some point it is not likely to become a regular spot.

Moved to a new area near Braddock road and there as much less dining options than a few miles north. Oh George has been on my radar and a welcome dining option near-ish to me. We went fairly early on a Friday and we were seated right away but it was pretty hopping at the dining tables and the shared tables around the bar in the front too. Hubby and I decided to get burgers as that is what they are known for. We were both really happy with our burgers and fries. I got the Frenchie with arugula, caramelized onions and gruyère cheese I believe. Husband got the Red Eye which has bacon and a sunny side up egg. Fries were really tasty and preseasoned. The only complaint would be that the bun fell apart. It was tasty but got pretty messy at the end. I wonder if they could flatten their burger a bit so it is easier to eat. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their food and drink. There is also a patio outside. Next time I want to try a pizza. They also had entrees that sound good and specials. Our server was pretty good too. The parking lot gets a bit crowded but there’s parking around the other side too.

Where do I begin! I was really excited to try this place the reviews were really good and food looked awesome! I made a reservation on a Monday for the Saturday coming up. I had family coming into town to find out the gender of my sisters baby and we wanted to go out to celebrate. When I arrived I was told I never made a reservation… WHAT!?! I then pulled up the call on my phone which showed I spoke to someone from their establishment for several minutes on the Monday prior to my arrival. At first the manager said we would have to wait and I was like NO its not my fault you lost my reservation. The manager felt bad and took a walk around the restaurant to see what he could do. He was able to give us two tables next to each other which really sucked because that was the point in making a reservation, but I was happy he was at least willing to accommodate us without giving me any further hassle. When we got seated the server came over and when we asked which kind of beers he would recommend he said he had never tried any… WHAT? They have a huge beer list how can he not be able to recommend or talk about anything he is selling! So I stuck with a simple rum and coke and my husband tried one of the beers which ended up being pretty good. My mom & step dad got a beer flight and my sister ordered a fresh lemonade… everyone else stuck with soda and water. We then ordered the kids meals so they could have their meals out first(chicken tenders & a cheese burger). After we then ordered some appetizers along with our meals at the same time because we were ready to just order everything. Ordered was a pretzel, truffle fries, and onion rings for appetizers. For our meals we got red eye burger, cheese burger, steak frites, salmon, short ribs, etc. Now we play the waiting game… After about 30 minutes or so we stopped the waiter to ask where the appetizers were. He then says oh well I put everything in all at once so it will all come out around the same time. WHAT?!? Why would anyone not space out the appetizers and entrees. The whole point in having an appetizer is to eat it before your meal not with your meal. So we told him to please have it out before our meals. Appetizers finally come out and within five minutes our meals came out… UGH. We had no room on the tables nothing had been cleared and there were empty glasses everywhere. PS at this point I think this server should simply become a bus boy because he is NOT cut out to be a server. I have served many years in my life and I have never seen anyone this bad unless I am at a Dennys. He was slow, lacked personality, and was not able to sell at the table. He could not even bring refills to the table and OH that Lemonade my sister ordered she never got it because they ran out of ingredients, but I guess we would have never known until we said something to the manager after 45 minutes of waiting for it… server NEVERTOLDHER!!! The only way to get more $ in your pocket as a server is to be able to sell and up sell. Steak Frites: RAW… the meat was still MOOing.(It was asked to me cooked Medium) Cheeseburger: COLD& Well done(I asked for it Medium) Salmon: Surprisingly really good! Short Ribs: Bland no flavor in the dish at all and no texture or flavor in the mash potatoes My Mom & I decided at the end of the meal we needed to speak to the manager again. We told him exactly what happened during our expereince and that we will not be coming back. He apologized profusely and seemed very sorry for the experience we had. He ended up comping our meal which was nice, but not the point we were trying to make. We just wanted them to be able to learn from there mistakes because you don’t improve if you don’t know what to improve on. We still wanted to tip the server because even though he did a horrible job it would not be fair to leave him with nothing. I went to hand him a pretty generous tip considering everything that happened and I simply told him… Hey we wanted to give you a tip, but I hope you can learn from your mistakes and better yourself as a server in the future. His response in a RUDETONE… ok ya whatever… UGH that just put it over the top for me. Note to self: NEVRCOMEBACK!

Where was this when I was going to school at mason?! I swear all the good stuff comes in after I leave :(#endrant As soon as you walk up, there is a very nice patio area with a large fire pit, perfect for a chilling summer night. The garage door like walls open up to the patio from the car area for a big bar area. Plenty of seating for 2 – 4 and a large area in the back to accommodate large parties. They do take reservations. Our group ordered the crab dip served with toasted flat bread which was amaze balls! I wanted a salad… but then I saw their burger menu. so needless to say I opted for a a burger. I ordered the Texan. A cheeseburger ordered to an option of some pink or no pink. Served with fat slices of smoked brisket and sauce. ALSO! Turns out you can sub our the regular fries for their truffle parm fries or onion rings or a salad So glad I know about this place

Found this place on Unilocal and showed up some of my Virginia friends, two who were Mason alums ;) Located in the GMU vicinity, this large, rectangular space pays homage to George Mason in the form of beers, burgers, and large floor to ceiling garage doors. Apparently they open the garage doors when the weather gets nice! There are high tops close by the bar, and plenty of seating by the various brew taps. Call ahead for a reservation because it sure was busy when my party of 4 went for dinner. There’s large area in the back with a door that looked like it could be closed so you could easily host your next event here. We got seated besides a table of at least 16 people who were celebrating a birthday and it looked like they had a good time. The burger was good and even better? You can switch out the regular friends for a side or caesar salad, onion rings, or truffle parmesan fries, yum! With tons of beers on tap, many tv screens, and layout, it’s a good place to meet up with friends and/or take a casual date. Can’t wait to go back for some beers and tasty sides because the crab dip was amazing.

I was happy to see that University Mall has added a new restaurant — it is much needed! Saw all the great reviews for Oh George and the menu looked amazing online so decided to come here for some beer and a burger. The inside is so cool: industrial but modern. It has a causal vibe to it and I like the patio/fire pits outside. This will be a nice place to come to when the weather makes up its mind. Our waitress was… meh, slow. Slow to get our drink orders, constantly walked past our table and never checked in, slow to refill water, didn’t designate who had what meal to the person bringing out our food. The food was awesome. We got the onion rings and they are HUGE, crispy and just perfect. It comes with 2 sauces that I wish I could take home. We both ordered burgers: me the Hottie, my friend the turkey club. Everything was cooked well and the burgers had great flavor. My only complaint is that instead of fries, we both asked for asparagus instead and were told that it would be an extra charge. Since when did substituting certain parts of your meal become an extra charge? Extra charges should be reserved for EXTRAORDERS. Also, I only had about 5 asparagus stalks on my plate… Definitely not worth extra $$. I think this place has a few kinks still left to work out regarding their waiters/training and they might want to rethink the policy on extra charges.

Oh George, is hands down the best restaurant in the Springfield, Burke, FFX Station, Fairfax City areas. It has the feel of an up scale restaurant at mid tier prices(think GAR). Oh George offers sit down dining, a large full service bar with multiple community tables and a vast patio replete with fire pit. The food is delicious and fresh. I highly recommend the crab dip and onion rings. I’ve been for dinner four times without disappointment and while the salmon is my hands down fave(that dill franche is amazing) I can also attest that the crab cakes, burgers, steak and etouffe(an occasional special) are equally amazing. Service is very good. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and has an overall good feel. The bar features about 10 TVs making Oh George a great place to enjoy an excellent craft beer while catching your team’s game.

Delicious Food. Some said it was expensive but I spent $ 12 on a salad at Brions Grille and at Oh George, I got a delicious pizza twice the size for $ 11 and was able to take it home and eat it for dinner as well. The atmosphere is really cool, I’m excited for warmer weather when they can open up their outdoor seating. Love the artwork and bar area, only downside is that there isnt a ton of seating, but as long as you dont hit the game rush, you probably wont have to wait. They also take reservations so if going before or after a GMU bball game, I would make one. Brions Grille is going down hill fast(smaller menu, terrible service, no more mason décor) and Oh George is easily becoming the better Brions Grille, definitely go here if you’re contemplating between the two.

I will start by saying the food is excellent and the staff is very friendly. However, after placing a takeout order a week ago I called back to place another one today and was told they no longer take to go orders over the phone. I would have to go sit at the bar to place the order… that kind of defeats the purpose of a to go order. I will still patronize the business, when I have time for a beer, but that severely limits my visits.

So tonight was the first night my family and I decided to try OH George’s Tables and Tap House. It is by far the best restaurant in Fairfax. Close to our home and convent for all the young party-goers at George Mason University. The décor was amazing and the environment was friendly for everyone. While we were there we met a young man by the name of Scott who was our waiter he was very outgoing and a really bright young man. He did an excellent job waiting on us. Next, we met the GM Roy his personality was very amazing and bubbly. He worked the floor and made sure his guests were taken care of with whatever needs they needed they were met. His class and Management skills were A class. We will be bringing our friends and family again to see the new restaurant that will be shutting Brion’s Grill down with the business Oh George’s will be bringing in. :) Thank-you for your business.

The new answer in Burke for where-do-you-want-to-go-tonight. Hits the sweet spot: high end comfort food at reasonable prices, with enough of a creative twist to keep things interesting. Definitely a menu to explore on multiple visits. We were very happy with the Porkie Fig pizza and the Frenchie burger recommended by Michaela our very helpful hostess. Great décor — love the booths for two. Outdoor patio with fire pit looks like it’ll be pretty inviting when the weather is better, and they’ve designed the space with large garage doors that will really open up the indoor space on a nice night. Best of all, they take reservations — highly recommended because the word is out on Oh George, by George!

Something for everyone here. The bar area is separate from the main dining area which cuts down on the noise. Waiters and staff are helpful and friendly. We ordered onion rings for an appetizer — more than enough for two people. We split a Texan –which was juicy and tasty — and we were stuffed. We will be going back!

First of all lets get this out of the way, when it says«Tables and tap house» it is not referring to pool tables, which was very disappointing to me, however having another bar near my house if a plus. I absolutely love the atmosphere of this place and have visited a few times not sense they open. I am a little disappointed in their service and quality of cocktails. Every time Ive gone the service has been lacking and slow, the hostess even rolled her eyes when we say down and she had to bring us menus. We went one night close to last call and our server came up to tell us it was last call, walked away and by the time he came back and we wanted to give him our order he said the bar was already closed, the same thing happened when we wanted to order food, he told us the kitchen was on last call, then left before we could give him our order and when we finally found another server they told us it was closed. I am also not to sure on the cocktails, the grapefruit mule tasted so sour and like it was all juice and missing the vodka and ginger beer. the mojito was even more disappointing and couldn’t even be drunk The first pit outside and the convenience of location are the highlights of this place. I will give it a few more tries and hope the service quality picks up because it really could be a great location. but with the prices they are asking for drinks and food, they need to have better quality staff.

Great new restaurant at university mall! If you are a beer lover then you will be blown away by the selection of craft beers. The food is fantastic — I’ve had the ribeye and burger and my wife has had the crab cakes and the salmon. Very cool bar environment. Bartenders are great and had fantastic service from Krystal tonight. Looking forward to the spring when the garage doors open and provide an open air experience. Oh George is a must try!

Great addition to Fairfax, nothing else like it around this area. Our service was wonderful and we felt very welcome from the moment we walked in the door. Great beer selection, and the food was INCREDIBLE! Recommend the crab gratin appetizer, and the porky fig pizza! The brisket tacos were also a big hit at our table. You must check this place out!

I was torn between rating Oh George with a 2 or a 3. I finally went with an optimistic 3 since they’ve just opened within the past month and are still adjusting to some of the pressures of being a taphouse. I went on a Friday night. Service was very slow, which to an extent I understand — since it was a peak time and since they are so new. I ordered a cocktail and a water for drinks. The cocktail came after 15 mins, but the water didn’t come until halfway through my meal when I asked a second time. My partner’s water didn’t come until we asked a third time and he was nearly finished with his burger. We also inquired about whether one of the TV’s could be changed to a hockey game we were interested in. The waiter said he would ask, but never came back with a response and the TV was never changed. Additionally, the quality of the cocktail was lacking. I had the Harvest Sangria. It had potential, but tasted like it was watered down. Rather weak and with little fruit. My guess is that all of it’s ice melted while it sat on the counter waiting to be picked up by our waiter. The most pleasing aspect of the night was my entrée, the Frenchie Burger. It tasted great and was full of flavor.

University Mall was way overdue for a cool place to hang out and grab a proper cocktail/craft beer or dinner. And all are fantastic at Oh George! Great ambience: the décor, firehouse doors that open the patio for summer nights and the fire pit for chilly ones. Lots of parking and being close to home will make this a regular go to for me. It is the type of place you would find in Arlington but you don’t have to drive or über all the way to Arlington. Which is awesome.

There’s a lot to like about Oh George. The décor is fantastic, and the garage doors will be great in the warmer weather to really open the place up. Prices are a bit on the high side for what you get, but I can’t complain about the quality of the food. I’m assuming the prices are to keep Oh George from becoming another college bar, and instead cater to a more upscale crowd, even though they do have televisions up like a sports bar. It’s not a huge restaurant, and I’m guessing once word gets out, this place will be packed every night. The onion ring appetizer featured substantial-sized rings with delicious remoulade and spicy ketchup sauces. I had a reuben, which was well stuffed with meat and sauerkraut, and my friend said his burger was juicy and flavorful. We’ll be back, and I really look forward to trying the pizzas.

Came here for dinner with my family this evening and everything was stellar. The food was cooked perfectly and tasted great! The service was exceptional Kuno was our server and with him you can expect the best. Prices are absolutely fair when the food is this good. We had the BBQ wings, ribeye steak and crab cakes. If you want a great dinner come here. Family friendly or great for a dinner date!

Wow — we’ve been waiting a long time for a place like this to come to the area. Our family went tonight to give Oh George a shot, and we weren’t disappointed. The food was really good — between us we had the bbq wings, parmesan fries, pork tacos, the«Red Eye Burger», a kid’s pizza and the short ribs. We all sampled around the table and agreed that everything was great. The beer selection is the best I’ve seen in Fairfax — though if you want what you’ll find at any other restaurant/bar(aka, bud and miller lite) keep looking. For those of us who like craft beer, look no further, this is your place! The atmosphere is casual and décor is funky/modern. There is outside seating and a fire pit. In the warmer months, it looks like the walls roll up to let the air in. We’ll be back! I have no doubt that this is going to be very popular place.
