Came here because I thought I’d get better quality suits than Men’s Warehouse. I also thought they’d be more expensive, which of course, they were. The quality may have been a bit better, but the service was horrible. I will say, the guy who helped us seemed like a friendly guy but he knew nothing about the rental policy therefore, he was useless to us. He tried getting information from a colleague of his, and his colleague didn’t seem to really help him either. To me, you could tell he worked on commission and once we said we were interested in learning about suit rentals, he shut us out and knew he wouldn’t get a sale. This drives me crazy… if you work in retail and work in sales. you have to have the right attitude and be willing to go above and beyond even if suit rentals isn’t your specialty! Needless to say, my fiancé and I went to Men’s Warehouse and had a great experience.

When you’re there to buy something, the associates are helpful. But as soon as you swipe the card; the great service evaporates. Suits take an eternity(3 weeks+) to get altered; so hopefully you’ll not in any hurry to get them back. Conflicting phone calls led me to believe the suits were ready for pick-up(twice), resulting in wasted trips to attempt to pick up my suits that weren’t actually ready. Overall I felt the store was a little disorganized. The associates even insinuated that I was lying about the phone calls and refused to take credit for the error. May have been just an isolated bad experience for me but as such I cannot recommend this particular store.

Jos. A. Bank has a nice selection of men’s clothing, everything from suit separates to casual gear. My husband likes the quality of their clothes and they hold up well. Their regular prices are quite high, but with the number of sales they have throughout the year I find if I wait a week or so, the item will generally go on sale. They do of course have the end of season sales to clear out their stock, but I do appreciate the in season sales even more. My husband loves cashmere sweaters in winter so I’ll always stop in for a couple when they have their buy one, get one sales. The associates in the store have always been friendly, helpful and never pushy. The store has a no-cost rewards program which offers a 20% discount on non sale items. I do wish their regular prices were a bit more reasonable rather than relying on sales to draw customers, but it is what it is. I recommend you wait for a sale to make your purchase.

I’ve shopped at JoS. A. Bank for a number of years, and I am generally pleased with the quality of clothing I have purchased there. Their clothing holds up well and is of good quality. The suit separates are great for finding a good fit & the Traveler suit separates(though pricey) do a good job of resisting wrinkles. I went in this time to take advantage of one of their«Buy 1, Get 2 Free» sales. This isn’t really as great a deal as it sounds. You can usually put together one of their Business Express suits for about $ 250($ 150 for the jacket, $ 95 for the pants); but when their big sale comes along, the suits jump to $ 600($ 430 for the jacket, $ 165 for the pants). So, yes, you can get 3 suits for about $ 600(+ tax), but you have to drop about $ 700 to get the deal. Anyway, I needed a couple of suits, so I was just going to spend the money. Once I got in; however, the salesman steered me to their Executive suits(not a suit separate so it would need alterations), which were on sale for $ 200 regardless of the number purchased. I bought 2 for $ 400 total, and I appreciated the fact that he listened to what I wanted and didn’t try to up-sale me on the more expensive suit. Okay… that’s the«good». Now the bad. I made the mistake of getting the pants altered at the store. I generally take everything to Tang’s Alterations in Manassas(fantastic work, btw); but I wasn’t going to Mananass anytime soon, and since I live around the corner, I decided to just have the pants altered there. I was expecting to pay about $ 20 a pair. Wrong. To take in the waist and hem the bottom on both pairs: $ 64! As if that wasn’t bad enough, the seamstress told me it would take 20 days to finish them! Seriously? After a little back & forth, I talked her down to 10 days, but for $ 64, they should have been finished in 5. Join their«Corporate Club» which saves you 20% on all NON-SALE items. Pros: Good quality clothing. Frequent sales. Cons: EXPENSIVE alterations! Their«sales» usually require you spend a lot to get the savings.
