My daughter is five years old and started classes with Flying Dutchman Gymnastics in January 2015. She is currently in her second session and absolutely LOVES the class! The equipment is new and the instructors are talented and enthusiastic. Teaching kids can be a lot like herding cats, but Carrie and Dirk really understand how to encourage active listening and participation. My daughter looks forward to going to gymnastics every week and has learned many new floor, beam, and bar skills over the past several weeks. We have participated in classes at a couple of other gymnastics facilities around the Bay Area over the past three years and Flying Dutchman has been our best experience!

Our 5 year old son just started his second 8 week session today, and has been absolutely loving it! The skills Coach Dirk and Coach Carrie are teaching build a foundation with coordination, strength, flexibility, and maximum enjoyment. The equipment at the pavilion is state of the art and brand new. This is the most professional gymnastics program for youth I have ever seen in this area. We are thrilled to be a part of it and learning such incredible skills from such talented professionals. They are so good at what they do! I recommend this program for all children ready to broaden their physical abilities.

I have been taking my daughter to these classes since they began in January and could not be happier. The two coaches know how to work with young children to keep them engaged and enthusiastic throughout the practice. My daughter LOVES this class and is developing much more strength and balance in the process. Pros: Small classes, professional coaches, high level of attention/​safety, clean equipment. Cons: Absolutely none.

Dirk Ooijkaas is an amazing coach! Originally from Holland, Coach Dirk won several European World Championships and even qualified to compete at the Olympics. Fairfax is lucky to have such stellar talent teaching our kids! Thank you, Dirk!
