The Fairfax farmer’s market moves to Sundays 10 – 2 pm in the Fairfax library parking lot for the fall/winter. The location is not as picturesque as the park on Bolinas and the number of vendors is less, but it still has the downhome warmth and fresh produce you’d want from an outdoor farm-fresh market. Today was a blustery day(afternoon) and there weren’t many people out and about :-(but the vendors were there selling kales, fruits, cheeses, soaps, Filipino food, Mediterranean food, chai tea and there was a live band too. I also got a great a great Thai massage from Ayah. Support your local farmers and vendors and check out the Sunday farmer’s market!

Do you enjoy redwood trees, vegetarian food, bare feet, and live music? If so, the Fairfax Farmers Market is for you! This market has a quintessential Fairfax vibe. If crystals, elixirs, and raw chocolate are too much for you to handle, head elsewhere! It’s a quirky little market, and I love it. The park transforms itself on Wednesday evenings. Lights are strung across the redwood trees and the park feels magical. At the market they have food vendors serving up Himalayan food, vegan dishes, crepes, Roli Roti, and more. They also have wine vendors, breweries, dessert, olive oil, hummus, bread, cheese, and henna along with your more typical fruit and veggie vendors. The only vendor I would avoid is the tea/elixir guy. He’s very nice, but I ordered a ridiculously overpriced tea that tasted like lukewarm water. I don’t even think it was what I ordered… but it’s all good! My friend and I had a nice time regardless. Besides the location, my favorite thing about the Fairfax Farmers Market is the live music and community vibe. There are people of all ages and walks of life gathering at the market. It’s a wonderful place to people watch! If you go with a group bring a blanket, otherwise grab a table or log to sit and hang out. Be sure to check out the hours online, as they close during the winter season. Highly recommended to anyone living or visiting in Marin.

Cute farmers market. The hummus guy is absolutely amazing, there’s live music that plays until 9 pm! There’s also a crystal vendor named Joseph who I see all the time, one of my favorite booths. Lots of variety and especially the food! When it gets dark the redwoods are illuminated by light, it’s beautiful! and kid friendly too!

Very sweet little farmers market. Wonderful energy set in the redwood filled city park. Stuff for the kids to do and there is a great kiosk that serves Tibetan food that’s really good and inexpensive. Not to many vendors but enough. It’s a nice way to spend an afternoon/early evening in a lovely place.
