The $ 17.95 all you can eat and $ 0.99 large bottles of sake keeps me going back. The prices are great, and I absolutely love their Ken & Charisma rolls. Great environment, good service, and right around the corner from my house.

You kind of need to figure out which rolls to get, if you know what I mean, but that’s not so bad a task with cheap all-you-can-eat! The matriarch here is nice too. And if I remember right they have $ 1 sake.

Being one of the few Japanese restaurants with an entertainment book coupon, I definitely had to give this place a try! My friend and I had the Bento Boxes. The food was very tasty. From the previous reviews, it appears that this place doesn’t have the best sushi. We were quite satisfied with the chicken katsu and teriyaki beef was very good! We paid $ 25 total for the both of us after the buy one get one free deal and sodas. The staff was also very friendly and helpful with their menus and recommendations.

We went because we promised some friends we would go from a previous evening where we blew it off, so… I ordered the $ 17.95 all-you-can-gorge sushi experience, more because I was in the mood for a buffet than because I thought I might enjoy a bottomless tray of sushi. As I suspected, I like sushi in small amounts, but I’m not one to want to make an entire meal of it. One of our party ordered a tempura chicken box of some sort. I tried it and kind of wished I had ordered that or something like it as well; it would have been half the cost, and I can only enjoy so much fish and rice in one sitting. I give it four stars because not only was the food very tasty and prepared as requested, but also because the staff is so remarkably friendly and enjoyable. You can’t go to just any buffet to get batter-dipped shrimp straight from the fryer incorporated into a sushi roll and served right away like you can here. It’s delicious, and if you LOVE sushi this place is wonderful. I just LIKE sushi myself, so I prefer to go to a buffet that lets me eat normal food and get a few bites of sushi as I go along. I would return to try other items on the menu. I like Midori Sushi.

I’m giving 3 stars, because the service, the staffs friendly, and the sushi is not the worst but far from best. My sister didn’t care for it, and had to get food elsewhere. So that may be something to put into consideration. I am however, giving this establishment another try, maybe I came on a bad day :(

Sushi restaurants are really a dime a dozen nowadays! You don’t really see anything unique or original very often anymore. I feel like the experience has gone the way of Starbucks! Midori is right in line. Not to say that the sushi here is bad, cause it’s not. The prices are even pretty decent but when it comes down to it, Midori is no different or set apart from any of the hundreds of other sushi places popping up on the west coast. Decent sushi decent prices, I could name 50 others just like it.

I went in for lunch the other day after hearing they offered all you can eat sushi, a rarity here in California. I waited a few minutes for our server Mikhail to seat us. I asked about all you can eat, he said he didn’t know, but never got us a real answer. The sushi was good. Just when it’s not all you can eat, it gets expensive. The service was only ok. Mikhail never got us more water, asked if we needed anything else. It is not like it was even busy. Only 2 other tables. The food was good, but I won’t be back.

I’ve been to Midori twice in the past six months, and had vastly different experiences each time. The first time I went there with a friend who knew the restaurant. We had the All-You-Can-Eat(AYCE), and we both managed to eat 4 rolls. The service was a good pace for us, as we wanted to sit and talk in between bites. The spice tuna handroll was AMAZING. The chairs are a little uncomfortable, and there is a tv with sports on. All in all, it is like most local sushi places. I had fun and enjoyed the sushi. The second time, I convinced my husband to go with me. We both love sushi, but the restaurant is really out of our way. We got there around 5:30 on a Saturday. The waitress who greeted us seated us at the bar, saying that there were no tables available. This put us off a little, as there was one table that was clear. We then waited for over ten minutes before anyone else talked to us. We were not given menus or water. By this time, my hubby was ticked off and wanted to leave(he gets grouchy when he’s hungry). The waiter who noticed us sitting there promptly moved us to a table, got us waters and took our order. Two minutes later, he came back with miso soup, and ten minutes later, brought out our first rolls. We enjoyed the rest of the evening, and the food was good, if fairly typical. I’m hoping to go back and try it again, in hopes that one night of bad service was just a fluke.

This place is pretty off in the nowhere zone. Once again I left it up to my trusty GPS to guide me to the nearest Sushi place and I ended up here for a quick lunch. The place was not crowded at noon at all. I was immediately shown to my table and the server took my order. I ordered a few things thinking I’d eat what I could and take the rest. The presentation is beautiful but those rolls are tiny. I polished it off in no time and the bill was a lot bigger than the rolls. The food was good but… I don’t like wasabi(bad experience) so I always push that off to the side. Besides I like tasting the roll for what it has in it without any cover up. Well, as I ate I kept tasting wasabi and I thought that somehow one of my chopsticks may have touched the wasabi(YES! I used chopsticks without cheaters this time). I kept wiping the chopsticks with my napkin but I kept tasting it. I checked under the layer of fish on the rolls and they had snuck it in there. UGH! Let me decide if I want to put that in there! The rolls were still very good but I didn’t like the fact that nowhere did it say it would have wasabi already in there. So… taste-good service-good price-too pricey for the size

Jim and I love this place! The food is always good and it doesn’t break the bank like so many sushi place can! This last time we had the sushi and sashimi bento box! The sashimi was like butter! The box came with tempura shrimp and vegetables, rice miso soup and was enough to fill two big guys like us! Stop by and try them out!

After the recent demise of Kirala Sushi in Folsom($ 15 for AYCE all you can eat, made to order sushi, including items from appetizer menu, and included suda) my group and I were craving for an alternative spot. Thank goodness for the Android smartphone and Unilocal.Midori saved the day. We’re not from around the area, so plugged in the address in the car GPS. The place is located in a small strip mall. Very«off the strip». We knew we were in the right place as there was plenty of signs and advertisement outside the place. Inside was just as busy when it comes to the décor. This place definitely will not win any décor awards. But I enjoy the casual atmosphere and really only care about the food. They aren’t located anywhere fancy, so why not just go with the theme of things. As we walked in, we were greeted with a smile and taken to our table. We knew what we were getting. The AYCE«all you can eat» sushi. It was dinner time and the price was $ 17.95 per person. I know a lot of people want details on this particular part so here we go. Of course there is no sharing. If you have no shame of course you can try to pull it off. The AYCE is not a buffet. It is made to order so you select from a given list. The list is lengthy and consist of several rolls to pick from. Also a few handrolls. You will notice a huge familiarity on the inside of the rolls, usually of a shrimp tempura roll then changes in the outer layer. Also drinks are NOT included with the AYCE price. They let each person order 3 rolls each at one time. So how was it? I should point out a very important thing that deserves some points. A lot of AYCE sushi places/buffets overstuff the rolls with rice. Of course it is to make the diner full quicker. This place does NOT do that. This allows the diner to experience a variety of rolls since you don’t get stuffed from the first few. Another reviewer mentioned the rolls being small? NOWAY! They were just the right size. That person probably was use to the buffets/AYCE places that oversize with rice to get them full. Now back to the taste. I was very satisfied with what we had… and we had A LOT of different ones. The service was great at first. Our waitress was attentive and made small talk. However, it seemed like after they realized we had big stomachs we noticed them attend to us less and less. Maybe they don’t get too many people from the Bay Area visit their establishment because we like to overstuff ourselves. Maybe people in the Sac/Fair Oaks area have shame and try not to get the most for their money. Either way, we noticed the change in quality of service towards the end of the meal, but still not bad to make me remove a star. And yes I can confirm it is run by Koreans. Maybe that is why it isn’t shady like the CHINESE run Sushi AYCE/buffets in the Bay Area! LOL! Also THEYHAVE $ 1BOTTLEOFHOTSAKE! And NO you can’t ask for togo box for your all you can eat sushi. The sake was ok. It had good flavor, but I think you would need 2 to get a buzz, for yourself! It wasn’t really that strong – thus maybe why only $ 1. If you are craving an all you can eat sushi spot in this area. This is the spot! Please do not change a thing.

the hubby wants to take me to an all you can eat sushi place he found during work. who am i to say no to sushi so off we go on an adventure waaaaaay out of the way. other Unilocalers weren’t lying about the small rolls. i actually dig this as it allows for more room in the belly to try different rolls on the *all-you-can-eat menu*. i noticed the rice was a bit hard, like yesterday’s rice was in my roll?! no bueno. i also noticed almost all of the designated buffet rolls have snow crab in them? wtf but if you ask nicely, they’ll happily leave out the snow crab or any other item you don’t like on your rolls. the servers and chefs were very nice and welcoming so i’d definitely return for more sushi. went back a few more times: the rice was fresh and delish each time, but sadly the last visit i got some serious food poisoning from the white tuna. it also took almost 45 minutes for our rolls. not ok when you’re offering ayce!

Good sushi here, especially considering that it’s all you can eat. I didn’t care for the sauce on the rolls, but since it’s all made to order, then it’s no problem, I just asked for them to leave it off The rolls are tiny compared to normal sushi rolls, but remember it’s all you can eat, so that just leaves room for more variety. Also, my wife, who has never been a big sushi fan, ate more sushi than I had ever seen her eat, so that’s saying something. She especially liked the fact that the rolls were smaller because it made them easier to eat. Probably won’t be able to go here often because of budgetary reasons, but if you ever want to indulge in a ton of made to order sushi rolls, then check this place out. Also, since the place is run by Koreans, they have amazing Bulgogi. I only tried one piece, but I can still say it was amazing. So sad that if I come back here, I will more than likely skip the sushi and order the Bulgogi for myself, but it’s tasty enough to pass on the good sushi.

All you can eat made to order sushi for $ 17.95 is a deal. Unlike other places I have been to that only have a limited selection, the selection menu is huge. The sushi does taste good and the sizes are about what I call normal sized rolls.(I tend to eat 4 rolls to get my money worth and always leave over stuffed) My only complaint is that service is pretty slow, I know that making the sushi does take time so my complaint is not that, its the time it takes to make the order and get drinks. Maybe because I go here with a group of people, it always takes 1.5 hours to sit, order, eat, and chat for a few min after dinner. So if you plan on going prepare on spending some time here for dinner.

Been wanting to check this place out for ages — the window signage proclaiming«unlimited rolls» has been tempting me very time I drove by. Was not disappointed — cold Asahi beer, 99 cent saki, heaping servings of edamame and cucumber salad… Teriyaki chicken box was fantastic — actual BBQ chicken with flavorful sauce(not the usual bland chicken with bland sauce you find at too many Japanese joints… and the unlimited rolls — wow. I opted for 3 — all with deep fried shrimp at the center — and all were delish. Soft and chewy, fresh and tangy sauces, good to the last bite. Loved it — new fave sushi joint. Diggit.

I guess this review is a little restricted, as I am a vegetarian. My boyfriend has taken me here twice… the first time I ordered my rolls a la carte, and the second time I got the all-you-can-eat special. The vegetarian selection is pretty limited… you can get cucumber rolls, or avocado rolls, or avocado/cucumber rolls. They were delicious, but not worth the price. The Miso soup was good and they have a selection of Japanese beers, the atmosphere is pretty casual. My favorite part when you order the all-you-can-eat special is that the waitress will sort of question your manhood when you tell her that you’d had enough. «Four rolls??? That’s all you’re going to have?!?» I’ll definately be going back, but probably not as often as a fisheater.

Back again, again… Michelle is back and will tell some friends. Midori, Sunny, Monica, John, Nick, Susan, Aaron — THANKYOU!!! You just keep getting better. They’re now open on Sunday nights — thank god! — I was forced to have Takkas two Sunday’s ago — see Unilocal review – and now they are open on Sundays — 7days a week — hooray!!! Also, what’s even more amazing is now they are doing .99 sake night every night! Midori, you are so good to me. Thank you for your fresh fish, and unique rolls, your excellent and personable service, your free pot stickers every now and again, the watermelon dessert you serve at the end — no charge. You are so good!

This place surprised me. My house is about a minute drive from this place and I pass it constantly, but never tried it due to the weird location and lack of buzz. Looked it up here, saw the decent ratings despite low review total, and decided screw it. I went on a Wednesday night, and they have 99 cent sake, which wasn’t half bad. It did the job, and did the job damn well. The place was packed by 7, which was interesting. A large group of girls came in to take advantage of the 99c sake. The owners(or whom I assume to be the owners) are a husband and wife who are serving as well as behind the counter cutting fish were really nice and hospitable. First off, the peppercorn ahi tuna appetizer was just ok. Nothing special. The 18 piece sashimi was excellent. I expected it to not be as fresh as some of the bigger sushi joints in town, but it was great. The albacore literally melted in my mouth, the red tuna was excellent, the snapper good, and the salmon was fatty and superb. We ordered the midori spider roll which i have to say is one of my favorite sushi rolls anywhere now. i believe it had soft shell crab(tempura), smoked salmon, avocado, with a strip of maguro on top. the sauce was mediocre, but the roll was excellent. At the end of the meal, they provide Oranges gratis with a little cocktail umbrella, which was pretty sweet too. One minor thing that i liked: the soda/water cups were HUGE. I’ve always wondered why restaurants don’t give massive 7 – 11 sized big gulp cups for water so they would never have to refill them. Especially Asian restaurants with their booty ass dinky cups. Awesommmme. The service attentive yet not bothersome, and the prices are PERFECT. Their most expensive roll was about 12, averaging about 9, the sashimi was 19 for 16 pieces including rice and a salad, so this place is certainly going into the rotation. not only for the sake specials on Wednesday, but for the roll specials on weekdays as well. Overall, the quality of this place is a tad lower than Taka’s and Mikuni, the décor is a bit less classy, but the fish is still DAMN good. Within minutes of each of those two, I would EASILY suggest trying Midori as an alternative with great prices.
