I was looking at the overall rating for this place and was hoping for more, but I would give this place a solid 3 star… they do have a great selection of long rolls which for us is what we were looking forward to and where they fell a little flat and landed the 3 star. We ordered the Godzilla roll and the So So roll and both were just ok. The So So roll had kind of a weird after taste and didn’t even finish that one. I will have to add we did order a few orders of nigiri and this was my favorite part of the the meal along with a couple hand rolls. The salmon and yellow tail were very good and some very nice generous portions and so were the hand rolls. Next time I might just stick to this, but being a little ways from home not sure it would be worth the drive just for that. I did like the open atmosphere and the very attentive young waitress that kept our drinks full. I would give this place another try and look to venture around the menu a little more… so we will see what happens the next time.

A first time visitors to Express Sushi. Blacked out windows but when we walk into the restaurant, very nice, clean n we have light. No wait as we were seated immediately. The server provided us with recommendations on rolls. We ordered the House wife special, a modified Rainbow to be spicy, n i forgot the 3rd, a combo nigri, spicy tuna hand roll n hawaiian poki salad. We all commented on the freshness of the fish. Also ordered the spicy edamame for appetizers. For desert we each order our favorite flavored mochi :) A little mixup on who our server was… we had 2 different servers come ask for drink order, food order… All in all a GREAT experience and will definitely be back again

So good! I’ve been a long time patron of a sushi restaurant not far from here, but after hearing great things we decided to have my husband’s birthday dinner here. I called earlier in the week to make a reservation for 20 knowing the place isn’t huge and they were able to accommodate us no problem. They had tables reserved for us when we arrived and despite us being kind of a mess with many kids, they never seemed annoyed. All of the food was amazing! We got a bunch of random rolls and a boat and had zero complaints. I am so happy to know we have a place super close to the house where the food and service are awesome. We’ll definitely be back, sooner rather than later!

I love coming here, great service always and great food! I always tell friends and family we should eat here! Usually I come with my boyfriend and we get the 3 meat Bento box(beef teriyaki & Spicy chicken) sometimes double sometimes Thai chicken, and we get 2 or 3 sushi rolls! I love trying new things but man I always come back to the«Baked Snapper Roll«» Deep Fried Alex Roll«& «My Favorite Volcano Roll«. Once again I love coming here and I won’t ever stop! Ou! Sunday’s is I think 10% or 15% off Sushi Rolls!

Based on the name alone, I didn’t want to try this place. However, my brother recommended that I check it out. I am glad that I did! You can’t see much from the storefront, however, once you step inside, you’ll see that the restaurant is very clean, spacious, comfortable, refreshing! I expected the typical plain, dirty, cramped atmosphere that you get from so many hole in the wall Asian places, but Express Sushi is exactly the opposite. The staff is also super friendly. Owner Alex mingles with the guests to ensure a good experience. I always appreciate the owners taking the opportunity to get to know their guests. The food was delicious. The fish is fresh, presented beautifully. The wasabi is strong, just the way I like it! The green tea is strong in flavor; tastes like it was brewed from leaves, not tea bags. This isn’t the world’s best sushi, but it is easily one of the city’s best. I will come again, and recommend to others!

A perfect spot for Americanized sushi and probably one of the better Asian(fusion) restaurants in this area. Don’t bother with nigiri, chirashi, or even hand rolls. You will not be getting the freshest fish here and the cut is way too think to be appetizing. I come here for their rolls drenched in teriyaki and chipotle-like sauce. Rolls range from $ 10 to $ 13. My family loves the Manzanita torch which has a smoky flavor and is moderately creamy. I don’t like any of their baked rolls because the aluminum foil smell is remnant every time I order those. If you are not feeling sushi, I would recommend getting the salmon bento box. The portions are large so it’s very filling. Salmon filet is very decently sized and is complemented with a slightly creamed salad mix. There’s some acidity coming through the vinegar flavored cucumber slices too. Overall, it’s a well-balanced meal. The quality of the food and service here is always consistent. The place is spacious and clean. Not to mention, there are good deals on weekdays.

I wrote a tip that I thought was a review for this place before, so go ahead & check that out. I think this place is kind of dirty, the staff seem kind of grumpy, and the bathrooms are dirty. For some unknown reason my hubby likes this place which is why I’ve checked in 3 times here. I’ve never had any digestive issues after eating here but I’m not wild about this place. My advice? There are several sushi restaurants in the close proximity, go so somewhere else! Addendum: it seems like every time we’ve gone one roll is made incorrectly according to the menu. Why is that? I dont eat spicy and one roll the last time had spicy when it should not have! Can we get it together please?
