This was a great hotel, until they stole a pair of $ 220 boots I had accidentally left behind. I was moving in to my dorm the next morning so I was hurrying to get out of there and mistakenly left them. After I realized they weren’t left in the car, I called and asked if someone turned them in. They said no. When I called a few weeks later to check again and ask for the security department, they lied and said they had no cameras! Never going here again. Thieves…

Needs improvement with cleanliness, sanitation. Safety is also an issue; two fires In two weeks and elevator makes scary noises. Closet doors won’t slide, front door sticks open, door key constantly must be reset.

Everything here is GREAT except for the fact that the floors are paper thin so you can hear EVERYSTEP that people take in their rooms. The hotel was booked solid so they couldn’t change my room. I highly recommend if you stay here, ask for the 4th floor. SERIOUSLY. Now I see the previous review that the floors were paper thin and management completely denied they had ever received another complaint. I’ve now changed my rating from a 2 to a 1 for blatantly lying.

The floorboards are very thin so you can hear people walking around in the rooms above you. If possible, ask for a room on the fourth floor. Other than that, this is a typical Residence Inn property. The breakfast selection is nice and the rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable.

Stayed here in June of 2010 with my wife and toddler, booked under Marriott Rewards points. Notes: The facility is in the grey area between being new and needing a remodel, leaning toward a remodel. Carpets were starting to show wear, elevators were squeaky, interiors were dated. We were there during a very bad thunderstorm in which power was lost to the hotel for about 18 hours. Given that local roads were closed I decided to take my son down for a dip in the pool. Dan F. had some trouble accessing the pool with the power out but went out of his way to help. Thanks, Dan! The service level of the staff was, in general, very good. I felt that despite the tribulations of the storm, they always put their best foot forward to help, keep us informed, and provide the best experience possible. While the power was out they provided a «cold» breakfast of doughnuts, fruit, granola bars, and other items. The HVAC(Air Conditioner) in our unit was too loud. the fit of the door dividing the kitchenette/living area and bedroom was a poor fit and would open when the hallway door was opened — an inconvenience with a napping toddler. In the kitchenette there was 3 sets of dishes, and no liquid dishwashing soap. We called down to get some and they seemed surprised by the request and suggested we run the items in the full-size dishwasher. This was a contrast to the«we’re going green!» labeling in the hotel — the recommendation was to run a full-sized dishwasher @ 90% empty over providing dish soap so we could handwash? They did provide the dish soap but I’d suggest that they call this out as part of their green initiative and provide a drying rack as well. The fitted sheet for the bed was too small and pulled off while sleeping, repeatedly. We called down in the AM to get it replaced, which kicked off a series of comical calls whereby they finally delivered the replacement in the late afternoon. This was a smudge on the otherwise good service. TV’s are small CRT’s(not flat). Wireless Internet worked well. Conveniently located near Exton and about 15 minutes from West Chester. Several food options available within walking distance. Included breakfast was acceptable for this tier of hotel. Nothing special. Generally it was a mediocre hotel with better-than-average staff. I’d consider staying again but would also probably check out other options nearby. UPDATE: Stayed at the Malvern Homewood Suites over Holiday 2010 and prefer it to the Residence Inn — see my review:

This is a good example of the generally pretty-good Residence Inn brand of Marriott’s. The hotel common areas and(at least our) room are all in good condition, and cleanliness was excellent. Staff was very friendly. We stayed in a true one-bedroom suite. As with ALL suite– and apartment-style hotels, it is critical to see a floor plan for your category, or call and ask, to make sure you understand what you’re getting and what you’re not getting. As true one-bedrooms(fully separated bedroom) go this one is a bit smaller than average in our experience in the suite /extended stay category, but still adequate. Kitchen is mostly full-sized; good floor space, full-size fridge, a bit short on counter space, and only two burners and possibility no conventional oven.(There was a microwave). As is usually the(annoying) case for extended-stay properties, the bathroom is accessible only through the bedroom. This works very well for a single person or couple who just wants a living room in which to relax, not so well if you’re using the living room as a de facto second bedroom for kids. Breakfast service is seven days per week and is standard Residence Inn full breakfast(eggs, potatoes, baked-goods bar, cereal, and make-your-own waffles, etc.) Did not go to manager’s evening, but it appears to be four or five(weekdays) per week. Wireless internet was free and reliable in rooms and lobby, and the selection of cable networks on the TV was good. No in room DVD players. Free printing in the lobby. Did not use the fitness center. There is a nice-looking indoor pool but did not use it. Parking is all outdoor and as typical for brand no valet or bell service.
