Exeter Tailor Shop

Just an OK tailor. Sometimes you will wait for her to return to the shop as if she goes out to lunch or grabs a coffee. She’s lost a couple of things and found them later with never an apology. She’ll rarely do a rush but if she does it’s like the world is coming to an end with her attitude. Not the friendliest of people but unfortunately the only game in town unless you want to drive to Portsmouth.

Joan Gallagher is a genius. She has done a number of alterations for me on pants that I need shortened (as it is almost impossible for me to buy anything off the rack that fits), all at a reasonable cost and turns around within a couple of weeks.
She is currently working on my wedding dress, which required a LOT of work — shortening, putting in about 9 permanent bustles, creating cap sleeves, and replacing the sash at the waist. A huge undertaking and it’s coming out beautifully. Her ideas have worked amazing. She’s also working on my maid of honor’s dress, and two of my bridesmaids.
She understands right away what is needed to make any garment look right on you.
I will continue to use her services as long as I live in the area.

Quality work for a very reasonsable cost. Usually turns items around in 2 weeks. She’s very honest too — she knows what she’s doing and she’ll tell you if something isn’t going to look right post-​alterations so that you don’t waste your money.
