I read a few good reviews about Maria’s alteration shop and decided to take a bridesmaids dress there. I was shocked when a simple hem and strap alteration was $ 100.00. I will never go there again. I SHOULDHAVEASKEDFORANESTIMATEFIRST. Added on 9÷8÷14: So, after speaking with other bridesmaids in the wedding party, I am convinced that Maria took advantage of me and my wallet. One lady, who lives in NYC, paid $ 65 for her dress to be taken in, hemmed, and staps shortened. Other women told me the prices they paid and they were all much lower than I paid for the basics. I should have known that I was going to be sucker punched when Maria told me that she had to pay $ 5,000 for repairs on her fireplace. Shame on you, Maria! I am appalled at your thievery.

Maria has been in business for quite some time, located at several different spots within the Glenroc Shopping Center in Ewing NJ over the years. While I understand she brings in help from time-to-time, she is extremely busy which results in extended turn-around times on occasion. Maria has done a few small alteration jobs for me in the past and does good work. If you’re in a hurry to have something altered, you might want to check with other shops in the Glenroc Center to compare the time it’ll take. Since I’ve used them all, in my opinion they’re comparable in terms of expertise. If cost and turn-around is important to you, it might pay to compare alteration businesses.

Walked into Maria’s with a bridesmaids gown that was so tight it made me look like a stuffed sausage. The dress shop I got measured at was so off on their measurements I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to make it work. Maria reassured me she would do everything to make me feel and look good in the dress. Sure enough she made it work! My biggest surprise was the reasonable cost! Some of the other bridesmaids paid the same amount at other shops to get a fraction of the work done that my dress needed. What a great find in a sleepy strip mall I’m Ewing!

Love Maria’s work! I bought a silk dress off the rack in NYC garment district(ice-blue sleeveless, fitted bodice and full short skirt, broken zipper). I bought a yard and a half of black silk shantung for her to add 6 inches so it was just above the knee. It’s beautifully done and she added her own fabric to line the addition and replaced zipper all for $ 60. It’s going to look amazing with black heels and a black wrap! Note, leave enough time to get your dress cleaned or pressed at a cleaners, she is strictly alterations and tailoring. Well worth it!

Took a bridesmaids dress here. Maria was so nice, her work was perfect and the price was more than reasonable! I had the bodice taken in and she created a deeper sweatheart neckline. It was chiffon with a lot of ruching and it was only $ 35.

Maria brings great skill and care to every garment she works on, from the simplest repair to large, involved alterations. She’s the only tailor I’d trust my clothes to. In short, you can’t go wrong going to Maria for tailoring or alterations.
