Covenant Nursery School

I too searched the north side and surrounding suburbs for just the right preschool for my daughter. My priorities were to find a nurturing, creative, artistic, welcoming first school experience. Covenant went beyond my wildest dreams. The tuition is among the lowest around, the scheduling is incredibly flexible and convenient, and every teacher is amazing. They provide a creative, artistic, nature based curriculum infused with subtle but effective learning. Everything the kids do is community based and delivered with love. Class sizes are small but filled with enough diversity so that all kinds of pairings and groupings happen during play. Both my daughters started school as very shy, left preK confident, secure, social, proud of their skills in art and music, and extremely well prepared for kindergarten, even though this isn’t a school that forces academics. It was a long commute for us, there were several choices nearer to our home that offered full day (more like day care) options, but Covenant was so worth it. If you are looking for an extension of a fine arts, creative play, attachment, and/​or nature-​based family philosophy, I couldn’t recommend it more!!!

A few years ago my partner and I were looking for a quality preschool in the Wilmette-​Evanston area. I am extremely picky about my child’s education since i am a teacher myself. After visiting over ten preschools, Covenant had the best mix of engaging hands on curriculum, teachers that were friendly, warm, caring, and knowledgable about child development, and a community environment. 2 years later we often talk about what a great choice we made. We couldn’t be happier. Our daughter became so close to Ms Jung and ms Goad that we chose to keep her there two straight years. We have also had great experiences with the other teachers in after school classes. In general this is a well organized and well run excellent preschool.
