ehh I wanted to like this place but shoot, it was really disappointing. we walked in and the server immediately asked if we were Vietnamese lol. Kinda weird but maybe Vietnamese patrons are a dime a dozen here in Eureka? He was playful but kinda sarcastic — I can see how people would find it rude. Okay, but riddle me this: this is a Vietnamese and Thai restaurant. My dad ordered a pad thai– pretty standard Thai food right? I quote my dad«I swear the cook must be crazy, like did this guy just not have any sugar when he was young? It literally was just boiled noodles drizzled with honey and peanuts. No eggs, no vegetables, no lemon. I had to force myself to eat it.» I had the green curry with seafood, which was decent the first 3 bites, but it was way, way, way too sweet. I really wish he had come to refill our waters since the sugar was just overwhelming. Nearly the titration point of saturation. My mom ordered the com tam with chicken but as soon as it came out we were like«wtf is this». It was boiled chicken drizzled with the sauce, rather than just cooked within the sauce — so it was bland af. My dad said he feels bad for the people who live here — they don’t know what real viet food is, and those who like this place probably never had it. It’s all. in a nutshell, whitewashed. The server insisted that we order the phở since«it’s better than down south»(okay man, we’re from SJ, I don’t know if you should be talking big game about phở), but maybe that was just his polite warning sign to us as the flagship phở might’ve been knowingly the only thing palatable here

While the food was cheap and just OK, everything else about this restaurant was disappointing. Everything looked dirty, skanky and unclean from the tables to the cutlery and worst of all, the washrooms. Service was abrupt and uncaring. Menus were tossed in your direction and servers appeared bored disinterested. Food came when it was ready even if that meant minutes apart for partners dining together The Phở was just OK, a mild broth but a huge gloppy hunk of noodles sitting in the bottom. My wife’s vegetarian option was barely edible Only later did we discover that there are other Vietnamese restaurants in Eureka. If this is the cuisine you’re looking for, shop around and avoid this dump.

Tempted to rate them at 2-stars, but not more than a 3-star rating. Prices? Very high. Quality? Meh. Unilocalers. I’m not recommending this establishment. Folks in the LOCAL area like it, but if you’ve previously experienced excellent Vietnamese food in places where it’s the norm, not the exception, then you’ll understand when I say that this restaurant NOT going to satisfy your craving. High prices, so-so quality and that’s all you’ll get here. The locals who don’t know any better are artificially raising the Unilocal rating here. It’s like paying for steak, but getting served a crummy hot-dog by a waiter. My review is harsh but it’s my opinion and I stand by it. Don’t waste you time and money coming here.

I really like this place. Sort of deceptive from the outside. Never would suspect it to look inside based from outside. Usually I order the chicken rice noodle soup. Phở. Yum! Had a couple curries and spring rolls. Very pleased with freshness and quality of food. Waiters are a reflection of the owners personality. Not that engaging and down to business. Eat and get out. Just kidding. They’re all super nice. Highly recommended.

This place is doomed! Horrible service, rude service. If the owners are allowing it then the place deserves to close. Too bad because it would be nice to have a variety of restaurants in Eureka. After my experiences there is no reason to go back again.

Complete professional incompetence. Ordered a drink and Phở. Never received my drink and when I asked for it again several minutes later, it was wrong. I asked to order something else because I was not a fan of the flavor of my Phở, fully prepared to pay for everything. They brought me another menu, and never returned to my table. So I sat with my friends watching them eat and I could not order something to replace my meal. I waited for them to come check on my table for thirty minutes and watched the waiters walking around checking on other tables but not ours. A waiter came by and picked up my menu from the table without saying a word to me. I was so angry I walked out of the restaurant. Good thing I don’t live here because this was extremely frustrating and flat out TERRIBLE customer service. I wish I could talk about how great the food is but it’s really too bad I couldn’t even try anything at all. I sat at my table MISERABLE and ashamed to be in that restaurant and then I had to leave hungry. Thank you.

It’s a shame that my very first review has to be a negative one but this place is literally a health inspectors worst nightmare, not to mention every single time I’ve been here the service has been horrific! Nothing compares to my dining experience this evening though. I walked in around 630 with my boyfriend and his mom. we stood by the cash register waiting to be seated when a lady that had already ordered take out walked up and told the man at the register that he had forgotten part of her order. The man said«oh yeah, you didn’t get your broth» insinuating it was her fault and simply handed her a bag that must’ve been sitting out for a while without any apology. Another waiter then walked up and told us to sit anywhere, but as we started to walk around the premises of the dining area we realized every single open table was still dirty from the previous customers so we were forced to sit at an 8 person table in the corner. Our waiter walked up, threw three menus down on the table and said«don’t worry guys, we’ll make this work» as he pulled the other table away from ours leaving maybe six inches of space between the two tables. At this point I got up to use the restroom, upon entering I noticed a fowl smell and when I opened the bathroom stall I was GREETEDWITHTHELOVELYSIGHTOFFECESSMEAREDALLOVERTHELIDOFTHETOILET. I proceeded to the second stall only to find that there was no lock on the door, no toilet paper and no sanitary toilet covers. When I got back to our table the waiter was in the midst of taking my boyfriends order. When I sat down he looked at me and said«what you want?» I ordered the b8(lemongrass chicken and prawn bun with egg rolls). We waited maybe 10 mins or so when my boyfriends moms dish was brought out by another guy who slide the bowl across the table, said«tofu» and walked away. Then he came back and slid the two other bowls across the table and said«beef» and«chicken». I sat there staring blankly at my dish because I was really confused about what the giant hunk of pinkish grayish meat sitting in the middle of my bowl was. I debated whether or not to return my meal but really didn’t want to make a scene in front of my family and WASREALLYWORRIEDTHATIDSURELYRECEIVESOMESORTOFREPERCUSSIONFORMYCOMPLAINTBASEDONTHESTAFFSBADATTITUDE. I decided to chalk it up one last time and never return. I sat through my gristle and chicken fat without any water left in my glass to choke it down as I watched our waiter refill drinks and ask other tables how their meal was. When we were done eating I got up to pay at the register; our waiter gave us the total and proceeded to say something to another staff member in a different language, gave me my change, and walked away. I never have gotten warm fuzzy feelings from this establishment but today I just felt flat out disrespected. This is one of maybe three Vietnamese restaurants within a 200 mile radius if you count the bahn mi drive thru in Eureka. It’s really sad that they don’t take any pride in providing high quality food and service so that they can give the best representation of legitimate Vietnamese cuisine to an otherwise devoid area. *I fell asleep last night before posting this review* All through the night me and my boyfriends sleep was disrupted due to extreme gastrointestinal pain… I guess his mom made the wiser decision by ordering tofu. I’m completely and utterly disgusted…

I’m in town for business and have been eating here for lunch most of the week. Service is a mixed bag. One of the servers/cashiers seems to have a cold and needs some serious food handling education. 1. Money and food don’t mix. 2. Wiping your nose with your hand and then handling my credit card and mixing my drink is NOT alright. The food is good but overpriced, every day I ask myself how I spend $ 15 for spring rolls and Thai boba tea and I am from SF, the land of over priced. The sauces are all seriously watered down with fish sauce, I like fish sauce but a watered down peanut sauce and a even thinner sweet chili sauce just comes off as well, cheap, and for what I’m paying I’d like my sauces full strength at very least. Portions are good, don’t attempt any type of special order unless you want some randomness. The boba is a wee bit soggy but I like it, great flavor on the Thai tea.

I love the food here. It’s delicious and affordable. I have eaten here probably 20 times and the customer service is always poor. My last experience was so bad I am reluctant to go back. I have been served the wrong food and treated as though it was my mistake and not their’s. I have paid for food I didn’t order. And the last time I was there the waiter greeted me without looking me in the eye and said in a dry voice«what do you want.» I didn’t leave a tip. I never do that.

Decent food, terrible service. First plate that was served had a hair in it was promptly replaced. Only one glass of water throughout the meal.

The food was fine, the lack of service annoying. There were several employees, but they were occupied by singing to one another and avoiding eye contact with the customers. Our server offered three words during our visit. «You ready? Two?»

I love Pad Thai but I never had Pad Thai that I liked around here in the humboldt area. The coconut shrimp with peanut sauce and fried rice is the bomb and those bobo milkshake type drinks are good too, it seems like this place may have gotten a little better recently

Service was horrible. Our server couldn’t speak English enough to understand our order(and I don’t speak Vietnamese). He became frustrated with us when he couldn’t make sense of our order, and became very rude. While the place was clean and smelled good, it has a very poor layout. Servers should have a dedicated pathway to seated guests almost directly from the kitchen, without telling guests who are in the process of being seated that they have to «get out of the way,» Very rude service. Too bad, because the food smelled pretty good…

The closest Phở place I could go to, 2 hrs from where we live! I love it! I took my kids here and they had chicken curry and the pad Thai and they totally loved it, which it’s really hard to please our kids as they have travelled and tried all kinds of food! The food is great and what makes it even better is the service! They also serve Boba which is my other favorite! I also took my husband here to have him try Real Phở and he liked it! The ambiance is also nice!

A great place with lots of different choices of Vietnamese food. I’ve tried the pad Thai, the chicken phở and the beef phở they are all great!!! Their Thai tea is also amazing, so is the taro shake. All of their fresh rolls vermicelli spring rolls are delicious as well! I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant.

Great phở. The extra large is a ton of food — better be hungry if you order it! This place is the real deal. You can tell because they will serve your phở with nuoc beo on the side if you ask for it. What is nuoc beo you might ask — why it is the fat skimmed off the broth and infused with green onion. This fat is only available if the broth was properly simmered for hours instead of created from a powdered mix. This fat is infused with the spices and seasonings used to prepare the broth. And if you subscribe to a ketogenic or paleo diet — fat that is perfectly healthy for you. Word of caution — ask for a small amount. They gave me a giant bowl of the stuff(see my photo) and there was no way I could finish it. I came back another night and tried their rice plate with grilled beef, egg roll and shrimp. The beef was awesome — slightly sweet and seasoned with lemongrass. The nuoc mam and eggrolls however were no where near as good as my family makes them — but the family recipe is tough to beat so no lost stars here :) Service was prompt when I ate in. When I ordered out I was offered a cup of their cucumber water while I waited.

We came here on New Year’s Day, as it was one of the only places in Eureka open. The atmosphere is really cool. A+ for ambiance. When we got there, we were the only ones there, but by mid-meal, the place was packed and the staff was drowning. Our dishes did not come out all at once, and came in a strange order. My son’s kids meal, which we had to order separate because of a peanut allergy, came last, after we reminded them about it, which sucks, because he couldn’t eat what the rest of us were having. The veggie egg rolls are supposed to be an appetizer, but they came in the middle. We got two entrees. Finished those, Then the egg rolls came. Then we got the last entrée. Then the kids meal came. The veggie egg rolls(fried, not spring rolls) tasted kind of like Indian Samosas. Different, but not exactly«veggie» tasting, like I expected. The pad thai was the best part. The veggies in the stir fry were not cut up small enough. I truly feel a stir fry should have bit size pieces, but each pepper was like a ¼ of the pepper.

I usually don’t come to this place because every time I had the service was pretty bad. This time it was okay. The phở was really good and the pineapple fried rice was amazing. My sister enjoyed her phở as well. Overall would come again for food.

Back for a second time & have no doubt I will keep returning. This is –by far– the Best Phở I have ever experienced. The waiter remembered us from before & we felt like we were treated like royalty. **Round eye steak & meatball Phở Yumm
