Horrible food the food was uncooked. The staff was extremely rude they didn’t even pay much attention to the customers. Bill was way more then it was suppose to be. We tried to talk to them about the extra fees all they did was argue with us making excuse after excuse. NOTRECOMENDED

This place is awesome! Fast friendly service and some really amazing flavors! The phở is great! Love love love the meat balls. Pretty much havent had a bad meal yet and frequent Lanphuong, like 2x a week minimum! They dont skimp on the portions and utilize fresh ingredients and it shows! On that note im getting back to my phở!

Avoid it! It’s next to 101 and still inconveniently located! I felt unsafe in the area. I ordered the veggie phở, which did not taste like the phở at all! It was sweet! It was $ 11. I can’t even imagine how other things would taste like. I’d rather recommend the Vietnamese place in old town Eureka!

Had the chicken rice noodle soup. It was so so. Soup stock was light and flavorful. Fresh ingredients. I’m sure their more hearty soups would be good. This soup is great if you want flavor but not greasy and over the top. Pretty dead in here for lunch hour.

Efficient and inexpensive This is an OK place to eat but not particularly good food. You can get a large glass of cheap wine for 7.50 and a decent dinner for not much more, served with brutal efficiency. The restaurant is attractive, the food alright and served in large quantities. The green curry with pork and noodles was good, even though the pork had been cooked into flavorless little leathery flakes. The Pad Thai was much too sweet and should be avoided.

Worse service ever! Waited for over 30 min for a menu. When we finally got the menu and ask that we are ready to order, the server said he had to take the other table first. And the other tables was not even ready. The server look like he just got out of prison. Very unprofessional with all the wrong attire to work in a restaurant. Finally after another 30 min he finally ask to see if we were ready, which we were 30 min ago. Now the wait for food. Took over an hour to get our food. The food looks as it was old and was just reheat and served. Not impress with the food or the poor service. Guess customer is not important to their business. Will NOTRETURN!

Not impressed at all. Broth was watery and flavorless. Soup itself was served lukewarm. Only a few partly slices of beef in the bowl. Would not recommend.

The service was good, but thats about it. I ordered a rare beef/meatball phở, and sadly. it was barely edible. I have had delicious phở in Little Saigon, Westminister(Phở 79, 86, etc) plenty of times, and absolutely love it, and know how it should taste. I dont expect the same quality in Eureka, but the soup really, really, really, sucked at LanPhoung. The broth lacked any real aroma or flavor, the rare beef came fully cooked and was a small portion, and the meatballs were slightly tough and flavorless. The side plate with the beansprouts, thai basil, jalapeño and limes was very skimpy portion-wise. I really wanted a large sprig of basil to attempt to salvage some flavor for the lackluster phở, but to my chagrin, I got a stick with only 3 small leaves. I had to resort to extra sriracha, hoisin and chili garlic sauce to make the broth even somewhat appealing. Needless to say, after the noodles and meat were gone, I didnt slurp the rest of the broth like I normally do at other Viet restaurants. I will not be returning to this Lan Phoang. If you want some decent phở in Humboldt, Phở Thein Long in Eureka is good, and the place at the top of the hill in Arcata is also decent(Phở Hoang I think its called). There were a couple nice things about Lan Phoang: The service was fast and friendly, food came out quick, and my vietnamese iced coffee was great. They really need to work on their phở broth though!

1 lunch order and I am driven to write a review! These coconut shrimp are bombastic!!! Light crispy meaty coconutty goodness complete with some thick sweet chili sauce that wasn’t watered down. Mmm 5 star, deliciousness. I also ordered up some fresh spring rolls, they came thin burrito style«uncut» a little odd but that’s OK they had a nice mix of herbs, noodles and meat and again a peanut sauce that is thick and tasty not watered down. Two other small containers of chili sauce thoughtfully included. Recycled to go containers, nice. No Boba, boooo the Thai Ice Tea is lacking. Get some boba and I’ll add another star!!! But the service is not lacking; fast friendly efficient, thoughtful. I’ll be back. Also the price was right.

Vietnamese from Westminster. Stopped by on the way to Portland, Or. I was not expecting anything from a Vietnamese restaurant in Eureka but I was pleasantly surprised. The Phở is good and authentic. Com Tam Bi Tit Nuong(barbecue beef with rice) was better than any I’ve had in Westminster(Vietnam Town). I would definitely recommend. Best Vietnamese stop for miles and miles and miles around! Not biased. First Vietnamese restaurant I’ve liked while traveling and first restaurant that I’ve ever reviewed overall. Worth the extra effort to review this place. It’s a great place

Sorry to do this, but I must downgrade this place. They jacked their prices substantially as well as downsized the proportions. An order that I get religiously went from $ 13 to $ 23! Overnight! Also, are bean sprouts really that expensive that you can’t give out more than 15 old, wilting ones with an order? I suggest the owners go into any city where there is actual competition among phở restaurants and see what the portion sizes of bean sprouts, basil, lime wedges etc. are supposed to be for an order. Go back to how you were. Why do restaurants feel the need to fix what isn’t broken? You can’t charge an extra 3 bucks because you use paper instead of Styrofoam cups on a To-Go order. All that said, their phở is good for Humboldt I guess. Maybe I should just be happy there ISPHO in Humboldt and stop hoping that restaurants here strive to be more than just over-priced, mediocre eateries.

This is our favorite phở restaurant in Humboldt county. I have noticed in the last few weeks since the owners have been gone the restaurant has been declining in consistency. They have not been able to maintain staple items on the menu and have been out of ingredients the last two times we have ordered food there. Also this is the third time the soup has melted through the to go container getting plastic in the soup even though we specifically requested cold soup to heat when we get home. I would Definately give this place five stars if they fixed these issues. Even with these few shortcomings and no basil for the soup after sitting down with my phở I had a change of heart. this is still a great restaurant and their soup is awesome. they have set the bar high for them selves i hope they pull it back together. I would still say this is the best phở in Humboldt and they can have their 5 stars.

Their phở are ok. I wish they have more condiments out to put in their phở’s but it’s ok. Highly prefer this restaurant over phở thien long. Nice staff, don’t highly check up on guests but that’s ok because I don’t like to be bothered when eating. I always ordered their chicken phở because I do not like their lemon grass chicken rice plate. The chicken always looks like it’s old and not fresh. My husband always gets their egg roll vermicille noodle. If I say you want a better phở restaurant to eat at, this is the place. Phở thien long is just bad.

great Vietnamese food and friendly customer service. They sell banh mi but were out for the day. Banh mi for almost $ 5-expensive for banh mi but this is the only place I know of around Eureka that sells it

I’ve been to all the Vietnamese restaurants in the area and the Phở at this one is the best so far. Prices are reasonable too. The broth was flavorful without being too salty. Two dishes and an appetizer and two Vietnamese Coffee’s which were good too, $ 33.00 and was more than satisfied with the meal, overall cleanliness and polite service.

Absolutely amazing!!! Passing by the town on our way to Seattle and suddenly craving for some Vietnamese noodle soup and found this place on Unilocal!I wasn’t expecting any authentic Vietnamese but surprisingly, my Bun Bo Hue was absolutely ORGASMIC!!! The meat literally melted in my mouth! The staff was very friendly also! I would definitely recommend anyone passing by this place to try this place and give this place more credit!

This restaurant is my home away from home. Eureka might be in the middle of no-where California but they have an abundant amount of Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants. But I always enjoy their warm broth while I am in California’s North Coast. I haven’t tried anything but their #1 phở dac biet special and Vietnamese ice coffee. Which I will always keep getting. Their Phở Sepcial has a good combo of meats, not all places include meat balls in their special, this place does. And, there Vietnamese coffee is strong. Viet coffee has that reputation of being strong, but its not always strong. They’re Vietnamese here and that’s always a good sign that their viet food will be the better options on their menu. But like I said I always get the same two things! I am just offering opinion on what you should get.

Shared a Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup, and a vegetable stir fry with chicken(prepared the same way as the spicy chicken stir fry), and substituted brown for white rice at $ 1 extra. Both were very delicious. The soup broth was spicy hot, sour, and sweet, a tasty combination. But the ingredients were a bit lacking, other than a huge amount of noodles. There were 2 shrimp, 2 mussels, 2 pieces of fried fish(prepared similar to Inari) 4 – 5 pieces of calamari, and a few pieces of what looked like scallops, but tasted more like fish cake. No veggies to speak of at all. The stir fry was a bit more generous in ingredients, though still skimpy on the veggie ingredients, but with quite a bit of chicken(mixed, small white & dark meat pieces). Service was very friendly, if a bit shy(young kid).
