Note — this review is only based on the bar and on the breakfast buffet at The Balcony. BF and I stayed at The Basin for a weekend getaway. The room rate included breakfast both days of our stay. The Balcony is on the«first» floor of the hotel, which European-style is actually a floor up. It does indeed have a balcony where one can sit, watch the action on the streets and enjoy a nice view. The atmosphere is warm, decorated in a mission style, like much of the hotel. The service was great! Our breakfast server, Sara, was friendly to all and very attentive. Our bartender we visited one time was also friendly and accommodating, but I didn’t catch his name. The buffet included an omelet station with a super nice cook, a cereal/fruit/yogurt table, roasted potatoes that were very good, biscuits and gravy and sausage(which BF said were fine), small breakfast pastries, bagels, juices and coffee. From signage, it seems the buffet price is normally $ 7.99 without a voucher. Bloody Marys were big and spicy, with okra, celery, olives and pickled green beans and were $ 16 for two.

This is a neat spot to catch a meal. As the name implies, most of the seating is outside on the Balcony. They have Canvas walls and heaters that keep things cozy in the winter. The menu has a wide range, from heavy apps to burgers to pasta dishes, and of course, yum-o dessert. The food here is good, and the ambiance is great during the warmer seasons, when you’ve got a nice tree-top view of the surrounding downtown area. You also get to pass through the first couple floors of the historic(and haunted) Basin Park hotel to get to the Balcony Restaurant & Bar. The hotel itself is an interesting place to check out as well. I’ve eaten here twice in the past month or so and been very pleased. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Expect to pay«tourist» prices for you food, but depending on your timing, you’ll be able to take in some live music and rub elbows with the locals, who can be very colorful. ;)

Best place in town for people watching on Spring street below, or overlooking a small park on the side of the hotel(not part of restaurant so you can slip over there and smoke, too). Doubt I would bother with this place much if it wasn’t for that balcony though. The staff is nice, the food is good, but unremarkable though you do receive good portion value for price.

Food took almost an hour and then so-so. And not much of a view unless you sit at the rail. And that’s hard to have a conversation.

Terrible food. Went for the«voted best of Eureka» burger and it was awful. I couldn’t even eat it. It was a cheap frozen patty. My husband’s food was just as bad. We left hungry and out 50 dollars!

This is undoubtedly, one of my favorite places to go in Eureka Springs. It was recommended by a friend, on my first trip, and I’ve been grateful for the tip. Now I try to arrange each trip to E.S., to include at least one stop at the Basin Park Balcony Bar & Restaurant. I know it’s an old place, and there could be updates, but there is just nothing quite like the ambiance of the old, the certain smells as you walk in, the fun of sitting high above the city, watching the cars go by, while you sip a drink or eat a snack. My favorite time to go, is during lunch, when they have a live musician, usually with a guitar, serenading the crowd. I’ve had a lot of meals on that balcony, and I just keep going back. Their specialty is their 1905 Margarita, which is second to none. I’m still trying to copy that drink at home. All of their food is great, and they can usually accommodate special diets, like gluten or dairy free. Haven’t had anything I didn’t like yet. They get four stars, only because, when it gets very busy, I have had some bad experiences with servers being a little rude or slow. However, those experiences are few and far between, and I can’t wait to go back.

I think I must have visited this place on an off day. It took over an hour to get our food and it just wasn’t good. The appetizer nachos didn’t even have real cheese on them(or guacamole as the menu advertised). Our waitress knew very little about the menu; overall a very disappointing visit. The location and ambience are great, but that’s not enough to bring me back.

Our bartender Norm was very friendly and helpful with local places to visit. We enjoyed the bluegrass music from the balcony. Great spot to enjoy a relaxing drink. Highly recommend you stop in.

The spinach artichoke dip was amazing but you won’t need the chips. The bread bowl it comes in is crusty and delicious dipped in it. We ate every bite of the bread bowl! The black n blue burger was also a hit! And the apple — tini was yum! I wish it wasn’t sweltering hot when we were there or we would have loved to have enjoyed the outdoor seating.

Love this place. Everything is delicious. Ok service. Great view of downtown Eureka. Fair prices too. Cheese dip is good. The black n blue burger is the only thing thats nasty on the menu

My family and I ate lunch here. The balcony had a great view of shops and the kids kept busy watching all the activity on the street below. We kept cool with misters on the balcony. Food was good but atmosphere and view is what sets this place apart from others.

Great place to grab a daiquiri and bloody mary. The appetizer platter was a perfect snack while shopping. People watching on the balcony along with a nice breeze.

I would have given this place zero stars if I could. Not only were other people helped and fed before our group(after being sat after or at the same time), but the waiter was rude, condescending, and argumentative. It took almost an hour before we got water and another hour and half before we received food. As a first impression it was not good. I would not recommend this place and I will not be back. If you have three hours to kill and don’t mind being dehydrated, then this is the place for you.

This place was fun! My wife and I got the Texas egg rolls, they were delicious! My wife got the white mac and cheese and I got the Philly cheese, both were good. The atmosphere and the view were fun. The only thing I would complain about is the service was a bit lackluster. Overall good experience though. Didn’t see any ghosts though which was a bummer.

We sat ourselves and it took forever to get our menus and drinks. We weren’t given enough silverware and the waiter didn’t visit our table very often. He was nice enough but I asked that he switch my tea to lemonade because it tasted funny, like it was from a can… However by the time he finally remembered I said it was fine and drank my sons water. The onion rings were good though, as was the ranch on my salad. My husband felt soso about the filly and I got something called the crown down and it was decent. Took him forever to come back to our table for the paying process so we left and paid at the bar. Food was good but service was Nothing special. At least our food came out relatively quick. If I ever went again if prob make it a point to sit outside so I could at least have fresh air during the wait.

Great place to grab a Bloody Mary and people watch. The food is just okay but I’m giving it 4 stars because of the location and view.
