My first time visit today, so pleased. The very freshest ingredients. My dish was on the special board, can’t remember the name, was brown rice with spicy chicken, pineapple, onions, vegs. My friend had the beef phở and spring rolls. Many choices, must go again.

My favorite store/restaurant in town. I stop by here all the time now, trying a new menu item or to shop in market. They have all my favorites, from phö bo to chicken curry to bean curd noodle stir fry and shrimp spring rolls. I’m addicted to their basil chicken with stir fry veggies and rice. Have roasted whole duck I still need to try they looks fantastic, sold as half or whole. Love the costumer service. Family owned, sweet lady that runs the store is efficient, hardworking, thoughtful and cheerful. THIS is where you can finally try fresh, hugely portioned authentic Asian food. Vietnamese, Thai, Korean. And you can get addicted to it without breaking the bank. Fresh order made from the wok. Stop eating expensive Chinese garbage swimming in gravy and enjoy something great.

Uhhhhhhh-mazing!!! This little hidden diamond is a great place to try Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai food! The owners are super sweet and always have a laugh or smile to share no matter how busy it gets. I went in tonight and it was slammed. They had a lot of people come in and the wait for food was about 20 minutes after ordering it. There were only two people trying to meet a high demand of orders and with that being said I think they did pretty good. The environment is calm and light. I had the cabbage salad with roasted pork, BBQ pork and a side of chicken egg rolls. The Flavors were great, the texture was spot on and the consistency was perfect. If you are looking for a new fun little place to check out, I highly suggest this place

A market and restaurant in one? Cool. Although it seems they have too wide of a selection of food here. I got the phở about 3 times and it taste average, nothing special. Also got a pound of BBQ pork another visit and it was expensive compared to restaurants in Portland. I’ve stop coming here for the restaurant and more for the grocery store. But one time I’ve bought dry noodles for homemade phở here and found mold. When I came back and told the owner about it, she didn’t do anything but say«oh» and didn’t even refund my money. I go to kings market down the street because they have a greater selection of products now

Good but not great. I’ve had phở here a few times(when I don’t have time to drive to Phở The Good Time). The broth always seems thin, insipid and flavorless. Where is the star anise and cinnamon?! I ordered tendon today — some of it was too chewy(not simmered long enough). I don’t like the wide rice noodles in the soup and today they had a musty flavor. Again, it’s ok –my daughter loves the crispy noodles.

Okay, really, but a bit on the greasy side. I’d give it another try though. Great service, and a cool import store to peruse while you’re waiting.

So good, made to order, and meats to go home! We had pork dumplings, slightly greasy for me, but my husband loved them. BBQ pork buns were good too! We had the #8 Phở with BBQ pork in chicken broth, not as much flavor as I had hoped for, but still really good on this chilly day! I have an obsession with BBQ pork and its sliced super thin and its delicious! I cant wait to go back and try more things on their large menu!

Whoa. This place is a gem!!! The phở is really great. I grew up outside of the area and had a lot of Vietnamese options. This reminds me of some of the best back home. The broth is phenomenal: rich, savory and full of flavor. Meat is fresh and veggies are all crisp and delicious. Potstickers were great too! BYFAR best Vietnamese restaurant in Eugene, probably the entire area. Very impressed!

Went to get takeout, and there was an Asian market attached to it. What a great find!

Why have I NEVER been or heard of this place until last night! AMAZING!!! The service was excellent and hospitable the Phở was great, portions HUGE, prices VERY reasonable. Ordered the sliced beef phở(I wished it was spicier for ME) and had summer rolls as an app(wish it came with peanut sauce) and it was all awesome! Bought a bunch of items and groceries too! All in all my new favorite place!!!

Love! This is my first time here and I came because of reading the Unilocal reviews, and I’m so glad I did! Battling a cold and a big bowl of spicy Phở is just what I needed. I will definitely be back, so good!

I have been a regular at Yi Shen for years and can solidly recommend several dishes: The Singapore rice noodles are amazing, a very flavorful yellow curry dish that never disappoints! On cold days I order this dish spicy. Spicy chicken Chow Fun, wide noodles in a delicious sauce… Combo soup, everything great in one bowl! Spicy pork udon House special salad I could go on and on, the menu is large and the flavors are authentic. The owners are dedicated very hard working genuinely awesome people and these qualities are reflected throughout. Yi Shen will remain a favorite place to visit!

Reasonably good phở, but why not fill the bowl with broth? It isn’t as if the prices are low, and broth seems fairly cheap. Come to think of it, they’re a bit skimpy with the noodles and beef too. My wife had the bun. I tasted it and wasn’t impressed. But she’s nicer than me by far. Nice shady parking lot on a hot day. The attached Asian market is interesting too.

I am not going to lie, when I first walked into this place I was hesitant to order. But what I found was an amazing hole in the wall with great food and an Asian store mixed together! If you are looking for the best Phở in Eugene, this is your place to go. Every time I go in, it is busy, which speaks wonders for the quality of their food. You order from a counter, and your menu is a number of signs behind the counter. So far, I haven’t ventured outside of the Phở and kimchi, but I am ready to make that jump!

Yi Shen offers excellent authentic affordable Vietnamese cuisine in a simple setting in Eugene, OR. There is a plethora of vegan and vegetarian options on the menu with helpful staff to help you navigate some potentially unfamiliar selections.
We enjoyed the flavorful basil tofu vegetable dish with wide rice noodles. The veggies, tofu, and especially the bok choy were cooked perfectly to perfection. We also shared a gigantic vegetarian phở soup. We left full, happy, and look forward to returning again to explore more of the menu including nectar from heaven young coconuts also available on the menu. After dinner be sure to check out the Asian grocery located in the same store as the restaurant to pick up everything from kimchi to sriracha.

Yi Shen, run with a true mom and pop vibe this is by far my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Eugene. I adore the work ethic and dedication that is apparent from the grocery side of the establishment to the amazing soul warming phở and lemongrass pork with vermicelli. I absolutely love love the kimchi potstickers! They are so addicting! My go to food when I am sick is phở, and so I will drag my sick sorry butt into this place, order from afar, and go home to indulge in the rich and savoriness of the phở. My parents and I will come here, order our respective dishes and then order a couple more to share. The portions are perfect enough to eat there and then box up the rest to eat later for a midnight snack. Besides the ready to food, they also sell pork belly and chines bbq pork to take home and cook up. In fact, I think I’m going to head over there now to indulge myself once again. Oh wait, it’s Sunday after 7… damn.
