I love this place! It’s authentic and delicious! The chief is super down to earth and the fondue is on point. Get the brat bites and try the burger. Plus you can order on delivered dish if you can’t get down there.

Ate at Pig and Turnip this afternoon. Talk about delicious food I order quite a bit off the menu and everything was full of flavor. By no means am I a food blogger but believe when I say«you can’t go wrong here». Chef Mike was super cool and I got to place my order through the«dine 24» app which is available on the Unilocal app, it was simple to use. I am going to be definitely returning and bringing a few people along with me.

Yeah, like 5THOUSAND stars! I literally did the happy dance when they opened! German food!!! Karteburger– tender, juicy patty… gooey, melted cheese, soft bun(who doesn’t love soft buns? Amirite??) CURRYWURST!!! I really dig the curry ketchup, it has a thicker consistency and chunkier texture, but it works. It’s even better than traditional currywurst sauce. The sausage snapped when I bit into it, which it SHOULD! LOL Potato salad– yes. Grainy mustard– double yes. Rotkohl– triple effing yes. Winning!

The pretzel rolls dipped in the fondue are to die for! And the Karteburger was the best burger I’ve had in Eugene. A little confused though since they don’t serve pig, nor turnips. But not a problem.

The cook was a super nice and sincere gentleman. I ordered a schnitzel strips meal, it tasted great, not sure if the strips were necessary but I guess it made it easy to eat with your fingers. Whole grain mustard aoli was on point here. Perfect to dip the schnitzel in. Huge bummer here, no potato salad of either variety german, or vegan dill!!! Bummer right? Luckily the fries are pretty good. I ordered a meal but when I got home I realized there was no kraut. I’m pretty sure it was supposed to be included but can’t verify that. The pretzel bun was underwhelming. Looked like it came from safeway. Fondue that came with it was cold and a large glupe by the time I got home in 5 – 10 minutes and had to be nuked in the mike. Could easily be a 4 – 5 without a few hiccups. Plan to be back to give it another shot. I’m a fan, will update.

Ordered the Karteburger and the Currywurst. Both were delicious as was the pretzel roll and the fondue but the intangible was how great the owner was. Had a great conversation even after the food was done and you can tell he has a real passion for food. Couldn’t have been more impressed with the food and the level of service. Will definitely be back to try the stroganoff!

I concur with other reviewers but have to emphasize that their frites are OFFTHEHOOKGOOD! Thin and crisp with a great aoli dipping sauce.

My friends and I have a great experience at Pig and Turnip, If you are in Oregon and visit Ninkasi Brewery you must stop at this place. The Quinoa salad and the burger were fantastic… but the most special of the place is the owner. I will return for his absolutely outstanding great service, other than food he will talk about football, best places to visit in Eugene and Portland, the best route to get to places, wine, and beers. my friends and I were more than happy.

Amazing burger! I’d put it up there against any burger in town. Everything is very reasonably priced, and the owner is extremely personable. Great addition to the Whiteaker neighborhood. Hope this place takes off!

This is an amazing new option in Eugene for delicious, elevated German cuisine! I highly recommend it to anyone in the area, or anyone passing through for game day or any other day! Chef Michael is the Cats pajamas!

Great little place to grab sone outstanding food! Had a grass-fed burger with an amazing cheese sauce, perfect German potato salad and red cabbage with apples. The chef is friendly and obviously loves what he does. Looking forward to going back to try the other items. A great addition to Eugene’s food carts/restaurants!

I lived in Germany for a few years, and though the food generally is brown, some food became favorites. Curries, cabbage dishes, dilled potatoes, most of the sausages, and real cheese cake. I found a little bit of Germany the other day parked next to Vanilla Jill’s in the Whit. I was so pleased with the curry worst, the fries(really crisp!) and the mustard seed sauce for dipping. OK, I am getting hungry.

What can I say? There is some off the hook German food in the Whit! The schnitzel is awesome and the currywurst is fantastic. The plates/meals come with braised cabbage and choice of german potato salad or dill potato salad. I look forward to eating many delicious meals from this cart in the future.
