Get there early so you can ride all day. You’ll be glad you did. Scooters are the best way to visit Estes Park. You already know parking can be a challenge but a scooter allows you to pull right up to the exact trinket shop or fudge place that is pulling you in. But getting out of town is far better. Just pick a road and go. The little Honda Metropolitan 50cc scooter will let you feel the breeze and hear the stream and be a part of it all in a way that the car cannot. Now that the elk are down in the park en masse, you’ll love being able to zip into the crowd of parked cars and park in the best viewing spot. With these little engines, you’ll need to be ready to pull into the bike lane or shoulder to let uphill traffic pass. Occasionally you’ll just pull off the road and stop while the accumulated cars go by but that is no big deal. The pull-behind campers do it so you can too. But you need only a tiny pull-off spot. Scooters are fun! Learning how to ride them is simple and they will teach you. The down side is you will want to buy one when you get home.

Very rude woman. A group of my friends and I wanted to rent scooters but with that kind of attitude we didn’t want to give her our business!

So the bf and I thought it would hilarious to rent scooters and ride around RMNP and man oh man were we not disappointed. You have to take a quick«how to» and safety course with the owner, who btw is beyond nice. She will give you some great back roads to travel on and we did the huge loop she recommended it was AMAZING! I have the RMNP year pass which get 4 people in at a time so we cruised in for free. The only 2 downsides were: 1. The price is a little steep but not too terrible 2. Neither of us had a motorcycle license so we got the 50cc which is fine for me… I got mine up to almost 50 mph because I weigh next to nothing but the bf of course weighs more and so his topped out around 35 mph… hilarious for me… angering for him. Regardless, this is a fun time and you should try it!

DISCLAIMER: I own a scooter and have a motorcycle license. The Good: : the owner was an awesome, friendly, laid-back cool woman who actually is from austin, tx. bonus!!! : there are different scooters available with different engines. there’s the honda metropolitan(50cc), yamaha vino(125cc), and honda ruckus(250cc). depending on what you need, she’s got it. if you have a motorcycle license, you can ride anything. otherwise you are limited to the 50cc scooters : helmets provided : safety tutorial on how to use the scooters : cooler bag provided on the scooter. fantastic for storing a bottle of water and picnic goods!!! we took advantage of it : bungee bindings in the back : well-kept scooters. i love the fact that she doesn’t rent out crappy chinese scooters. she rents out japanese scooters that are extremely reliable and high quality The Bad: : i wish there were full-face and/or open-face helmets available, not just the half helmets The Ugly: : none. Would I go back? Definitely. Even if she weren’t the only place in town that rented out scooters, she was a delightful person I am more than happy to give my business to. The scooter ride into the Rocky Mountains made our last day gold. This place is IN.
