Who does not love a big cat? Tigers are one of the most beautiful, powerful mammals on the planet. People have worshiped these giant felines since the beginning of time. Evidence of their influence dates back to ancient mythology and folklore. Modern sport teams, films and even national mascots cherish tigers. Tiger trail is the renovated tiger exhibit at the San Diego Safari Park and home to 5 magnificent tigers. Visitors enter through a bamboo path embellished with Sumatran style benches and a statue. The next stop is a fun stairway built with zigzags and steps to give visitors a closeup above a favorite tiger hangout. These tigers even have a swimming hole, I can not wait to witness them swim. 11:45 am is prime Tiger viewing time, and their trainers have several enrichment opportunities for these big kitties. They play hide and seek with rabbits(the poor rabbits), or hand feed them through the cage to stimulate cats and people alike. You can even grab a 32 ounce cold beer from the Macan Market and enjoy it during the close up encounter with tigers daily. SO forget the online cat videos and get your a$$ to the Tiger trail for a roaring great time.

Tiger Trail is a vast improvement over the old Tiger Territory trail in which you would never see a tiger… ever. At Tiger trail you’re practically guaranteed to get a good view of these beautiful cats. — Great tranquil water features — One of the few things that the Safari Park doesn’t charge an extra fee for. — King’s Tip. If you have a reusable souvenir cup, there are other drink options besides water or soda. China Mist tea! The larger sit down restaurants have iced tea so make sure you fill up there with your free refills. This is also the same at the Zoo(Yes your refillable cup works at both parks).
