It’s 1 pm on a Friday and the place is empty. After eating their food I can see why this place is empty. The service is slow and their salsa station is a joke. I ordered 5 rolled tacos and they were terrible! They put a small portion of guacamole and barley any cheese on my rolled tacos. I got a large lemonade which tasted like Kool Aid lemonade and they didn’t even bother to put ice in my drink in this warm day. Definitely will not be coming back and this place shouldn’t call itself a Mexican restaurant.

Tiny tacos. Ugly restaurant. And the quality was below average. It was completely empty and the guys were just talking in the back, meanwhile the salsa bar was messy and low.

Cash only, staff was ok but food tasted like fuel, might try again one day but we were not impressed at all

Cash only, greasy homemade mexican food. Serioulsy it is like going to someones house and eating their Mexican food. Very good. Very greasy. The place is super empty and the workers were bumping old school rap at level 11 on the speakers when i showed up(they turned it down when i walked in… it was awesome though). They have a number of options, but it is a simple, homestyle taco shop. No frills. Just a lot of flavor. Its a hidden GREASY gem! Perfect for those days after too much indulgence of liquids.

Let me just say that I have been a lot of Mexican restaurants, have had street tacos all over San Diego, and these are the best! A small mom and pop joint, but BOY is the meat really flavorful. My husband loves the carnitas and I love the adobada. And the chili verde is sooo good, lots of flavor, and you can tell it is slow cooked becaused the pork is so tender. Those other expensive Mexican restaurants cannot beat these tacos. The only problem I have is that they have a limited menu, but what they do have is excellent. My husband and I highly recommend this place. You gotta try their tacos!

Place was empty on Sunday at 12:30PM. Not a good sign. Meat in my three street tacos was tough; like it was cooked in a batch and frozen or refrigerated. Not good. The rolled tacos my daughter had were hard as a rock. The meat in the taco combo was tough and stringy. The salsa bar was just sad. Will not be back. Much better spots near by.

Stopped in here after passing this place for months. The food is very good. I got the fish tacos and they were pretty good. Service is friendly. Definitely a nice quiet place to have lunch.

I was next door at the Appliance Depot on the day we were shopping for large appliances and every time we walked by, it made me feel like one of those moments when you smell something so delicious you can’t resist but come in and look for it. After about the 5th time of walking around the building to finally get a set of a washer and dryer from Appliance Depot, I walked over to Nayeli and was so excited to try something. I already had a big brunch and it was around 11:30 am by the time I walked in Nayeli but OH. MY. GOD. Why don’t they make this stuff all over California??? I only got one street taco because my fiancée was nagging about something that we just ate and I’m gonna turn into a fat lady but I digress… I had the carne asada and it was the best, heavenly thing I’ve ever put in my mouth(hey, keep your thoughts clean!). Holy mother of… What do they do with these things? That little street taco was so mouth watering, the beef was so tender and bursting with goodness and flavor. I wish there was a little place like this nearby my home but then again, yeah, I’d probably be a fat little gal. But at least my tummy is happy. Better fish all the coins you could find in your pockets, I’d even ask strangers for change for a street taco. I think it was $ 1.00 to $ 1.50 for the taco. It is cash only :( Definitely a must try. And try and try again. Absolutely delicious.
