Stephens Custom Jewelry and Repairs

This place is a joke. I had been here previously and didn’t have a great experience but thought I would give it a second chance. I needed to replace a lost diamond from my wedding ring. Woman who runs this place is rude and had no customer service skills. All the items in the store look old and tarnished. Save yourself time and go to a real jeweler!

Not impressed at all! I came in looking for a specific piece of jewelry, nothing hugely expensive but vintage looking for my daughter. I picked the piece out and they tried to sell me a more expensive piece, nothing like the piece I wanted. I stood my ground. The whole time the owner and the guy who was helping me (not her husband) argued. It was very awkward. I had them hold the piece because I needed to double check sizing.
The next day I called and left a message that I did want the ring and I’d be in later to get it. When I went to get it, I stood in the lobby for about 5 minutes while everyone in the back complained about someone very loudly. The owner came out and was clearly irritated.
Let’s just say I got the ring and I will not shop there again!

I work in the jewelry industry. I’m not currently in sales but I have been. And the first rule of sales is to never assume. I came into this store on a Saturday afternoon to look at the beautiful pieces, and was interested in trying on a ring. But I suppose that in my jeans and t-​shirt, I did not look like I had enough money for the owner to bother with. I tried to get his attention but he bypassed me to greet other customers.
Great jewelry, for sure, but I won’t be buying any here because they obviously will only help women who come in flaunting designer handbags.

This place is very good. Stephen and his wife really know their stuff. Their shop is amazing with lots of jewelry selections in all different price ranges that all look beautifully made.
I took my wedding ring setting here to have a stone put in place and they were able to help me and did a great job. Only reason for four stars was that I had to bring the ring back to have it tightened and re-​polished. I’m not sure what the problem was, but they took care of it quickly and it looks amazing now. Great customer service and great workmanship. My fiancé and I are very happy — Thank you!

I took my ring to Stephen’s for repair. I was pleased with how quickly they scheduled my job and completed it as planned. However, I was not happy with the first job. I felt it was quickly done, not quality work, and deteriorated from the value of my ring. I complained. Was countered with, «that’s how it’s done» (and slightly felt like I was being pushed off as an annoying, uneducated customer). I persisted, and he took the ring back and did the repair over. I was very much pleased with the second go. The repair is well done and hardly noticeable as a repair. I appreciate Stephen’s effort to make the customer happy.
