Leonardo’s Cafe

Love this place! Great food, the freshest salad bar for miles and great customer service. I’ve sat from open to close before, working while logged into their wifi. All I saw were happy patrons and staff. The acoustics aren’t the best if you are looking for something quiet but that didn’t bother me one bit. I just wish they were open longer hours or on Sundays!

Leonardo’s Café is a cozy spot to grab a hot bowl of delicious soup during the cold weather season! There is always something different and special to try on the menu. The staff is helpful and pleasant and the Café is clean and the delivery is speedy! A wonderful place to enjoy lunch with a friend. One of my favorite places for sure.

What a great little find! Love all of the homemade choices and the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant is a must! They have great daily specials too!

My wife and I have supported this place and love it. But what the heck is going on. No more breakfast, so we wait until 11:00 come eat lunch. We show up at 11:25 on a sat they open at 11:00 and are told they are out of the quiche that I love. Then to be told there was only two of them made today. Its unfortunate that a great little place with pretty good eats (probably the best food in town) can’t seem to get it together. Atleast we got our food in a timely manner today. Just hope things improve, hate it that our town gets great things that go away.

I’m vegetarian and their menu has many foods I can eat my wife is not vegetarian and lots of good food for her. We eat here once a week cool little atmosphere all food is fresh and great flavor. In my top ten deli places I’ve been.

Fantastic food. Best in Escalon. The only reason they are getting 3 stars instead of 5 is their hours. It’s hard to support a business that is only open 4 hours a day. And please start serving breakfast again. It was a nice change from the greasy breakfast every other restaurant serves.
Edited ⁹⁄₂₅. I went in after the Escalon homecoming parade to grab a sandwich for my wife and I. I waited in line for over 10 minites, and was told as I got to the register the kitchen closed at 3. It was 3:05. So it closed while I was in line. If I was already waiting in line before you closed your kitchen, I should have been served. Your customer service is terrible. It was a complete waste of my time. We have supported your restaurant ever since we moved to Escalon, but I think we are done. We’ll be taking our business to surrounding towns. It’s a shame, because I’m all about supporting local businesses.

Decided to try this place out based on the reviews. The food is good. The place is also clean. What I didn’t like was the attitude of the employees. I don’t know if that was the owner but he seemed so unfriendly not sure if he was having a bad day, but I was scared to even ask him a question. That bad. Not only that but when I was getting salad from the salad bar the salad looked old. Thinking about giving this place another try.

Stingy with portions.
Staff is not entirely rude, but not at all pleasant.

All of their food is great… But the tomato bisque is THE best! It’s nice to sit outside and have lunch in this cute little town.

Have been here three times now so time to write a review. Sandwiches are very good but today had the fish tacos — very good! Simple, casual environment — it’s a country café!!! I really like the broccoli salad — was never really a fan til I had it here.
They have free, fresh-​fruit infused water which is really good.
Will be back again and again!

The sandwiches are to die for!!! All fresh organics and awesome staff!!! A place to stop on a nice Harley ride!!!

Growing tired of Hulu’s as my usual in Escalon area lunch sport, I turned to Unilocal for something different. That’s when I found this place and I’m glad I stooped in.
I had the blue cheese and bacon burger with their homemade broccoli salad. Both were outreous and I almost asked for a side of the broccoli salad. Paired with some strawberry basil water made a great lunch stop.

Yea, they are open on Sunday’s for breakfast and lunch. I get to have a great salad and soup from themI am a happy person

Met 3 girlfriends here for lunch, and though we all have specific tastes, we all loved our food choices! All of the food was so delicious and fresh! One had a gardenburger, one the chicken salad sandwich with cranberries, one the French onion soup and the chicken pesto sandwich and I had the prime rib sandwich– which was a special. You order at the counter, but service was fabulous, and they were kind enough to let us stay and visit while they closed up! Definitely will be back! So many other things on the menu sounded delicious

Stopped here with some friends for lunch, driving through one afternoon. What a great little find this turned out to be.
My buddy and I ordered their Prime Rib Sandwich, which was on the Specials, not the menu. Holy Hand Grenade was that a good sandwich. Probably the best I’ve had. My buddy told me he’s been craving that sandwich ever since.
Everyone else loved their food. Sorry, don’t remember exactly what they ordered, but it was off the menu.
Décor is nice and the café is open with lots of seating.
They have a great selection of beers, and we were told they serve breakfast on Saturdays till 11am. We are definitely going back to try that.

Went last night for the first time! We had a wonderful meal and the service was fast and friendly. Fish tacos were fresh and delicious but it was the clam chowder that will have my family making a weekly visit. They also have a large assortment of wines! I was very impressed with this gem located in this small town.

Love love love the atmosphere, food, and service here. Wish they were open more hours just so I could go more often and later in the day. My mom is a big fan of the sangria and we both love their chicken salad, turkey pesto sandwich, garden burger, and everything we order there in general. What a wonderful local business and selection to choose from. Stop in when you can. Cheers!

I don’t always remember about Leonardo’s and I’m right here in Escalon!
I’ve been going there more so recently and I LOVE this place!
I went a month ago and ordered their Greek Salad and loved it! I loved the rotisserie chicken and all the fresh crisp veggies!
A week ago I was running late, needed lunch and called in «my salad». The owner answered and I told him I loved the first salad but the second time I ordered it wasn’t as great cause the chicken wasn’t rotisserie. He told me I could ask for either on my salads… So I did!
When I went to pick up my salad Mike told me «this one is on me». He apologized for the last salad and I REFUSED to let him buy my lunch! I assured him I ate every last bite of the last one and will this one as well. I’m so glad I communicated with them and now I know what to order!
I have only had great food, great service and a great atmosphere at the little hidden gem of a café! I hope they are around for a very long time!

I am so impressed with the freshness of the food at Leonardo’s Café. I have had similar quality food at the Fairmont Hotel on San Francisco and other high-​class eateries in New York. The food was not over-​salty as one of these reviewers stated and I live in Escalon and have more exposure to the menu at Leonardo’s.
You just have to taste for yourself, it’s definitely worth the trip.

The food here is not as it was when I first went there. Thought I would give them another chance but the food was overly salty. Being a previous Secret Shopper I know quality and standards.
