Studio Hue is a laid back, relaxing place to have your hair done. I love that they use natural and organic hair products. Dauna is a fabulous stylist. She does my hair exactly how I like it. Glad I found this place.

I don’t even know where to begin because my history runs deep with this hair salon. I’ve been a client since they first opened and even before that. Dawna is my hair goddess and inspiration!
I met Dawna when she was in hair school and went through years of guinea pig experimentation! Playing with levels 1 to 12! Yeah I was platinum blond for a few weeks but my warm skin tones, natural level 3, and red undertones did not allow me to live too long as a Gwen Stefani towheaded rocker.
I have done promotional photo shoots in exchange for services and believe I got the better end of the deal! As I have stated before since living in Pittsburgh I only get an appointment a couple times a year and prefer to «do it myself» not always with the best results. The 2^nd time I fried my hair trying to go Marcia Cross Red I actually got in the car and drove the 2 hours for the professional care I have yet to find in Pittsburgh. This time I damaged it beyond repair and Holding breath had to cut it off! Dawna has saved me time and time again but this time she laid out the verdict with the stern look of a concerned mother scolding her mischievous child. «Squeak»!!
Dawna set to work with correcting the color first. She explained that because of the extent of the damage an organic Yo color (a yogurt based color) great for people with sensitive skin after scalp injury would be best to use. OUCH! Yep I did that!
I decided to go back to my normal shade because if I kept the red I would have to get the roots touched up monthly as they grew out. The color was so beautiful! Rich, with hints of deep purple undertones. My hair was transformed and Shiny. The relief I felt can’t be understood. The cutting still could not be avoided because of the breaking that had started before seeing Dawna.
Wow she gave me the most kick ass rocker look! Geometric lines and chunky punk feel but still elegant! Plus I could style it myself. I only get my hair trimmed up in the burgh so I am in need of a visit soon. I can only say that it’s worth the wait in gold and travel!
