The food may taste good going in … But upon its immediate violent vomiting exit. You will swear you will never go back… I have been here twice. I wasn’t well after our first visit and wasn’t sure it was the food. I had observed very poor hygienic conditions as the cooks prepared meals behind the counter. Bags of frozen shrimp and scallops taken out of freezer ripped open and partially used and tossed on side counter and left there as they went about cooking. Wiping their noses with hands. Thumbs in every plate and using hands to place and adjust food on plates ! Second visit the cook put his entire thumb in his mouth to suck off some food on it and then went about touching food and his entire thumb in a bowl he filled. Then he scooped food from a dish in microwave with his fingers off into a plate to be served. His hands go from raw food, his face and mouth to the plates and cooked food!!! My husband was vomiting all night. Someone needs to address these unhealthy practices. Ridiculous!

We have been to Spinnakers twice for breakfast since we moved here in October of 15. Both times the food was pretty good, but the service was horrible. No one seemed to know who had our table and it took forever to even get drinks. Once our food finally arrived, that was the last time our waitress or anyone ever came close to our table. Waitresses were leaning behind the counter on their cell phones totally ignoring their customers. Finally flagged down someone to get a refill on coffee after our cups had been empty for over 30 minutes. We will go for breakfast once more, but there are too many good places in the area for people to eat out and hopefully Spinnakers will take note of our concerns.

My favorite dinner/restaurant in Englewood. I’ve been going here for over a year now, whether is breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The staff is very friendly and it usually takes only 10 – 15 minutes to get your food. Have a very wide variety of food and it’s all very affordable. The portions they give you on sides are also very substantial, I never can finish my meal. They also have tons of pastries and deserts. I very highly recommend this place.

I guess you would call me a regular customer. This restaurant always gives you your money’s worth. Excellent breakfast, lunch, dinner. Also baked goods prepared everyday. I would highly recommend this restaurant not only because of their fine food but also their staff.

We have been going hear for years. Mainly breakfast and lunch. The cooks do a good job and most of servers. Except, there is a taller, dark haired chick that always seems to have an attitude. Not sure what’s up with here. She treats people she knows alot differently, especially the males. My wife laughs because she reminds me of «Mel» in the old TV sitcom Anyway, food is all cooked on site, pastries are a real treat. We have had them make birthday cakes for us and they were great

My husband and I tried this place while vacationing in the area. We both had breakfast sandwiches with bacon. The bacon seemed to be the pre cooked kind that was probably microwaved. The corn beef hash was good but a little greasy. The service great!

First visit for breakfast. Food was ok. Our service rushed us to order. Once she took our order, she never came back to the table to check on us. At all. We live here full-time but I sure felt we were treated as «tourists». I wasn’t impressed.

If you’re in need of an old-fashioned counter breakfast, this is the place. The service is fast, the service is friendly, and the food is delicious. I had eggs Benedict Florentine and it was well-prepared. The coffee is hot and good. If you are from out of town like me, this is a great local place to get some homestyle cooking at a great price.

Don’t judge a restaurant by its location. This is one is in a tiny strip mall but definitely worth stopping in. We ate breakfast after leaving our Palm Island vacation. Service was fast and friendly. Portions were very generous but not ridiculous. I highly recommend the coconut French toast. The Mrs. had the meat lovers omelette and potatoes. The raisin bread was homemade. Our only regret was not finding this place sooner. We would have loved to try the homemade pastries but were too full. Prices were very reasonable.

This place is a complete dump! It’s dirty, the food is disgusting and everything has the flavor of rancid and dirty grill! And to top it off, the servers are flat out rude! Don’t waste your time and money!

poor service, blah food. Best thing ordered was the clam chowder. we were served beer and wine with no coasters as the beer dripped onto the table. The cup of chowder had soup running down the side of the bowl. Had to ask for menus and silverware. My entrée the cajun shrimp and scallops was very greasy and heavy on the garlic, the fries were undercooked. I asked for different ones and these came cooked correctly. My husband ordered the Fishermans platter. Huge piece of fish, unfortunately is was a soft white fish that was just blah. probably basa. The scallops and shrimp were also not so great. Suppose to come with coleslaw, never saw it. Lots of places to eat in Englewood, I would skip this one.

Great food and wonderful service. Prices are unbelievable! Would definitely recommend. The malt pancakes are the hub’s favorite and the breakfast ribeye or eggs benedict is not to be missed!

The food(Sunday after church breakfast) was excellent. The décor was tired but functional. I had chorizo eggs Benedict with home fries. The potatoes had a heavenly crust. The eggs were delicious. The wait staff was surly, and I’d hazard a guess they’d be happier if there were no customers. When we entered(first timers), we hesitated at the door, trying to determine if a hostess seats us or we seat ourselves. Orders from behind the counter were barked«anywhere, either side!» When we left, we noticed no one was leaving payment on the table, so we asked the buss/coffee lady if we paid up front. She affirmed, but everyone was too busy to take our cash, so after waiting, we just left it on the counter, with other’s cash. I hope they got it. Clearly, it was too much effort for our waitress to welcome us or exchange basic pleasantries. But in her defense, the management doesn’t invest in a hostess, so, is it the philosophy of ‘if they keep coming, why change?’ I’ll come back for the food, not the experience. Good food, understaffed.

Awesome breakfast for this area. The pancakes are DELICIOUS and are some of the best I’ve had. Their homefries are really good too. The service is excellent. They also have a huge selection of fresh-made pastires like muffins, cinammon rolls, etc to take with you on the run. I suggest getting here early though, because parking can be tough.

Great little restaurant at the corner of McCall and Spinnaker. Very friendly staff and lots of choice on the menu. The also have $ 2 bottles and $ 1.9916oz draft beer! Wow. We had the ham steak and chicken fired steak from the value menu. $ 8.99 for entrée, vegetable, potato, soup and dessert! Good food — great prices. Will definitely be back.

Stopped by the Spinnaker Café for breakfast while on vacation. I had a Western omelet which wasn’t bad. My wife had country eggs Benedict. The place seems very nice and the wait staff seem to know a lot of the customers. All in all a pleasant experience.

My family and I ate here twice for dinner. The first time I had the 13 $ 12oz prime rib special with french fries and a new england clam chowder. The chowder reminded me a little of Stefano’s. The chowder was small and had a taste that I wasn’t too crazy about. In their defense the chowder appeared to be made from scratch. We were also served rye bread which was good. The prime rib came and was cooked correctly but had almost no seasoning and little taste. Sadly the au jus was lacking in flavor, too. I much prefer the taste of a prime rib at the texas roadhouse and would spend the extra 3 $ every time. The fries were mild in flavor. Our waitress sounded sick and was coughing around the restaurant and while taking our order at our table. Wondering if maybe their prime rib wasn’t the house specialty we decided to try spinnakers café again. The second time I had the fish and chips with clam chowder. The chowder tasted the same. The fish was breaded and baked. I much prefer fried fish and chips. I really did not enjoy the breading on the fish(very similar to howard’s basa fish fry) and did not enjoy the fish. The piece of fish was large, most of the fish was cooked fine, but the middle center was not cooked enough(mushy). The overall taste of the fish was too mild, not enough flavor. The waitress did a good job. My guest received a chocolate cake desert which was very tasty. I would never come back for the fish and chips, and the rest of the food I tasted was very bland. Serving sizes were huge. Prices were ok. Sadly my guests and myself did not enjoy the food enough to want to return.

Just visited for the first and had a home made chicken pot pie $ 12.99. This was the poorest example of home made I have ever experienced. Had to send it back twice to microwave as it was not hot. I would never waste my time coming here!
