Fantastic panoramic view of Hudson River and GWB(see my photos!) A lovely quiet rest stop for cyclists who are exhausted from the hilly parkway ride. Staff is really friendly that offered us free seating although three of us spent less than $ 10. They also serve grilled chicken, burger and other bar food.

On a whim I randomly drove through the park and the sight of this place was shocking. It’s nestled in such a scenic area, I couldn’t believe this establishment existed. The employees are exceptionally friendly and the menu is full of gems. I chose the bacon grilled cheese which, well in the worlds of Arnold Schwarzenegger as T-800 Model 101 in The Terminator, «I’ll be back.» The view is truly surreal, a massive and open panorama of the Hudson River and the GW Bridge. The outdoor seating, both under the awning or picnic style, makes it a serene place to eat on a warm day. P. S. — The reviewer Michael K. seems like a real nice guy.

I’ve been biking to the Snack Shack on summer weekends for many years under many different managers, and it’s never been better than it is right now! The food is absolutely fantastic! The location on the edge of the river and the view of the GW bridge are, as always, unbeatable.

Great eats, great people and breath taking panoramic vistas of the New York harbor from the Snack Shack. There is something to please every palate in the diverse menu, especially mine. My favorites range from grilled chicken, veggie burgers and fries to the salads with tasty cranberry balsamic vinegar. The empanadas are to die for and the mariquitas, fried plantain chips… OMG… priceless. And Rosie’s crafted sauces… ??? yummy!!! the Nutella fries??? Don’t take my word for it. Go taste for yourself!!! Ive even been there for Howie Tavin Trio and Paquito D’ Rivera. Ahhhhhh what a great place to go for lunch or just to spend time with family and /or friends.

Left Manhattan to visit friends in NJ on the way back we decided to explore the Palisades since it looks so beautiful from the City. We stumbled upon the Snack Shack, what a pleasant surprise, my friends and I were hungry so decided to stay and«Snack». Aside from the location being super chill, you are literally on the river with great views of the GW bridge the food was more than we expected. I had the black beans and rice(moro) with a couple of fried eggs on top… loved it. One of my friends had the BLT and did not share she was so into it. My other friend had a burger which was juicy, perfectly cooked with spicy fries… he shared his fries. We will def go back… oh and there was live music to boot which made the afternoon really special. BTW the owner has a smile that is pure sunshine.

Snack Shack should be named slow shack. Waited 40 minutes for a grilled cheese and fries on an empty Saturday. Table service doesn’t make any sense here. Go back to allowing people to order at the window.

(I can eat anything) Not a PIA. I love going to Mom & Pop places. I seek them out. This place is aweful. Ordered Egg & Bacon on a Roll and a can of black cherry RC cola. Waited 15 minutes. When it was done the discombobulated lady said $ 7.50. I handed her the money and said I just need the soda. She said she didn’t charge me for the soda $ 2.00. I questioned the price of the sandwich and she said that was the price. I felt ripped off but figured I didn’t pay for parking into the PIP so what the heck, rather give it to them. Got back to my car, opened the foil and stared at a small grease ladden hamburger bun, a rubbery overcooked egg, and what looked like some type of meat. I pulled up to the stand, got out of my car, waited to make eye contact, held it up, and tossed it into the garbage with great satisfaction. Black cherry soda was great.

Spectacular views of the GWB and the Hudson River. This is a owner operated concession, the type of business I love to support. Food is good, hamburger was fresh and yummy. Service was friendly and attentive. Jazz background music was fantastic, great sounding audio at a very comfortable volume. This is better class of snack bar food, simple, friendly and fresh.
