Joel Paris owner of West Valley Help is not what you think of when you hear the word «handyman». He is what you think of when you hear the word «contractor with multiple employees working for him, educated and intelligent». He is more like your upscale, well-​dressed neighbor who just happens to love working outdoors and indoors with his hands and can fix everything and anything as though it were his own home. Appliance installation, paving work, woodwork, sliding door and window issues, garage doors, small to medium plumbing repairs, drain blockage, roof issues, sprinklers & pipes, you name it he can repair it.
AND – he does not mark up supplies!
Joel was recommended when I asked a top of the line real estate company president if he knew of a really good professional handyman. We have an incredibly long list of work that needs to be done to our large home, guest house, office and property, and we are so happy to have found someone who can do everything. Joel has been here three times and we are always thrilled with the results – we hope to book him on a weekly basis. We will be needing him for a long time to come. You absolutely cannot go wrong with JJ Paris’s services. They are fantastic.

So, I had a stopped up toilet that needed a snaking.
In January when the same thing happened I called the plumber I have used for larger jobs back when I had a house in Topanga. $ 145 and a 20 minutes later the toilet was fixed and he split. Leaving me with severe sticker shock.
This time was going to be different.
Someone on Facebook recommended West Valley Help to another person looking for a handyman. Well I had a few handyman jobs around here. Checking out the website I saw the price $ 65 for the first hour and then it mentioned small plumbing jobs and when I click on that link it mentioned stopped up toilets! Eureka!
When Joel got here the next day not only was the toilet dealt with, so were several other jobs! And Joel (the owner) was so nice! (My plumber had just seemed grumpy.)
And all it cost was $ 65! Bonus from now on it will be $ 55 an hour. That may seem like a lot. But think back to what the plumber charged. And though «rooter» type companies may change about the same price… They will be gone after the 20 minutes it takes for the toilet.
I will definitely be using West Valley Help again.

So happy with West Valley Help! Brought them in for gutter cleaning (El Nino is coming) and then brought them back for some fixes around our place. They were very quick and professional.
