I am new to the vegan diet and I honestly can say that native foods REALLY helped me make the switch. I eat here regularly, the service is great, the food is great. My favorites are the buffalo wings and the burgers, but I just had the bbq chix salad and chili and both were so good! My boyfriend loves the Oatmeal cookie dessert. I enjoy the cupcakes. Thank you native for being a part of the plant based movement! And especially for helping me transition to the vegan diet

OHMYGOSH! I can’t say enough good things about this place. The food is so above par and there are so many choices. The tacos we had were off the chart and did not taste like classic vegan food. I’m so into eating here and wish we had one near us. There is tons of seating indoors and out and many many choices for everyone. Gotta try it! Please come to Santa Babara, please?

I love the food here. Except for the fact they show no mercy on the substitutions They can NOT do a side of just steamed broccoli even if there is an allergy The staff is usually wonderful Management is horrible The female manager with the pink hair was rude and refused to accommodate my needs as a loyal customer I have ordered plain steamed broccoli many many times and was told that it was no problem by the employees But this pink haired manager got on her high horse and acted as if she was better than all her subordinates She needs to learn better customer service skills

This is one of my favorite vegan restaurants. Service is usually pretty good; however, their food varies. I wish I could say every meal is awesome but I’ve had the misfortune of having a few meals subpar. The Chicken, Bacon and Avo Sandwich can be over cooked at times. Fries can be cold and tofu can be overcooked in the Bangkok curry dish. This is a total bummer when you’re starving and looking forward to a warm tasty dish. On one occasion, I got a mediocre drizzle of curry sauce and truly overcooked chewy tofu. My mistake was not sending it back– instead I picked on it trying to convince myself that it tasted okay. This place can be busy and lines can run out the door. You order at the cashier and they bring your plate to you. They are a little slow at bussing tables during peak hours but you can usually golf someone down to get that taken care of for you. During events such as a BOGO, service and food take a sharp decline. They also sometimes run out of certain foods– which is another bummer if you were looking forward to a certain dish. My hubby and I have had the misfortune of the restaurant simply substituting our food options while running out of something while in the cooking process. That is not okay in the sense that they should have asked us. Their wait times can be ridiculous. I’ve waited 45 minutes for food-not including the wait time before we got to order. Now to talk about the good stuff! I love being able to come here and not worry about ordering something not vegan. Everything is vegan! But you wouldn’t know it! My non-vegan friends really enjoy this place. They have salads, burgers, tacos, wraps, etc. Their cupcakes are delicious! I stay away from their parfaits as they are a little too sweet for my palate. I love their watermelon mint drink but also enjoy their lavender lemonade. They have good spicy buffalo chicken strips and some pretty awesome nachos. Although, the nachos are a little unusual at first(served with hummus) but I warmed up to them over time. They serve beer and wine with non-alcoholic fountain drinks and kombucha for drink options. Their patio is really nice at night and they have heat lamps to keep you warm. Indoors can be loud depending on how busy it is. This is a pretty good vegan restaurant and I wish this place was a little closer to home– need more in North County! I also wish food was consistent. Service and food quality varies with each visit so be forewarned. Be sure to sign up for their rewards club as you can rack up points to earn free meals.

Oh Native Foods, how you failed me! I have always loved coming here. It’s a delicious,(mostly) guilt-free meal that doesn’t harm any animals! When I got an email on 4⁄20 that they were having a BOGO deal on entrees, I decided I was going to take full advantage of saving some money and some furry creatures and headed down to Encinitas. Upon arrival, it looked pretty packed outside on the patio but the inside wasn’t very full, with maybe 10 occupied tables. My husband and I got to the register and placed our orders, and were advised it could be 30 – 45 minutes to receive our entrees, which we agreed to wait for. First red flag: we got our drink cups and headed over to the drink station for some delicious watermelon fresca… to find the dispenser completely empty. Same with the lavender lemonade. There are no soda options, so we took the last few drops of whatever we could squeeze out of all the taps and made a sort of Long Island sans the alcohol. Second red flag: about 75% of the tables were also waiting for food. I glanced into the kitchen and counted only 2 – 3 people preparing food, and a much larger handful of other employees hovering near the window waiting to take food out to their anxiously awaiting customers. Customers were meandering up to the take-out counter, checking in on their orders. It was a total mess. After waiting a good 35 minutes we decided it wasn’t worth waiting anymore, especially as there were still 10+ tables that had ordered ahead of us still sitting without any food. We went and asked for a refund, which they provided. I would definitely recommend NOT going to Native Foods Café during any special offer/event, as they do not appear to be well enough equipped to handle the volume.

A friend who’s been here before, recommended we have lunch today. When I think of vegetarian cuisine, I think«I’ll be hungry.» Not so! I couldn’t even finish my dish(Thai meatball earth bowl). My friend had the Native Chopped Salad. Both dishes were huge, and the flavors were yummy. I’ll definitely be back.

Hadn’t been to this location until the other day. Not only is it miles and miles closer to home, I like the actual place better too. It was quiet, open, room to maneuver, and comfortable. Seemed like a nice place to study or work too. As always, the Bangkok Curry was divine. The Mint Watermelon drink was divine. And this time, I tasted my son’s veg burger. He got one with BBQ on it — don’t remember the name. I didn’t taste part with the sauce, but the burger itself was freaking delish for a meatless burger. I still prefer the real kind, but this was really good. Gives me another option for when I eat here too.

I really enjoy this place. The girl working yesterday was so sweet and helpful also, I wish I got her name! My friend and I were shopping at Trader Joes and were hungry so what better place to walk over to than here. It was cold out so we chose to dine inside. The special board was loaded with so many options that sounded amazing that I took forever to decide and was finally forced to due to a women standing behind me waiting for me to order. So, under pressure I too ordered the curry dish, three long slices of cooked tofu with the best broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini and carrots on top of brown rice, yes I know, just veggies but with that curry sauce it is to die for. I could eat a plate full of these veggies all day. They also have Lavendar Lemonade, Watermelon Basil which is my favorite, not too sweet. Green Tea available also. A perfect pairing and addition to a fantastic meatless meal.

Vegan to the max! Holy woah, was it delicious though! The service was awesome and the food was nicely presented w perfect portions. There’s inside and outside seating — we picked outside because it was such a gorgeous day. I got the crispy, «chicken» wrap w a side salad and it was really good. I didn’t have any sauce put in because I’m picky like that lol so I got it on the side, no problem. My little sister got the kids meal«chicken» tenders w a side of seasoned fries and they were yummy, she said. The only downside was that during lunch hour, there was one man managing the front register and he was kinda slow but super nice lol. PS — their lavender lemonade is freaking delish!

Native Foods is one of my favorite vegan spots. I can’t believe my husband loves eating here also. It’s the only restaurant where I’ve tried different foods on the menu. Normally I’m a creature of habit but I was so surprised at the freshness and tastiness of the food here. And their peanut butter parfait is to die for! I think I eat here once a month and I love going here with my vegan friends.

The food is good, the atmosphere is great, but the tables are starting to build up a layer of so much crud on them they are starting to get really disgusting and so I took one star off. I really like the drink selection a couple of organic, a couple regular with sugar, and a couple of unsweetened drinks.

Again, I was so excited that everything was vegan(New England lacks these types of places)! They also have a menu that is available for Soy-free, gluten-free and nut-free ingredients. I had the chicken bacon avo club, a side of steamed greens, and an oatmeal crème pie. The sandwich was excellent, the greens were plentiful and perfect, and the oatmeal crème pie was to die for(also large enough for 2 people in my opinion). Seriously, I dream about that dessert. The service was friendly and fast. The atmosphere was neat and clean. I would give 5 stars, because the food was amazing… but unfortunately I found a staple in my sandwich which was kind of scary. But having worked in food — I can see how mistakes happen… I would come back for the oatmeal crème pie, and maybe a sandwich that I would chew carefully.

Funny thing! I thought I had long past written a review for this Vegan/Veggie friendly spot?! BUT apparently I hadn’t so here we goooooo… I love it! Love it ALL! The end. Jkjk… No, but seriously this place is great departure from other less flavorful and over priced V&V(Vegan/Veggie) slots around town. Some friends I’ve taken here either love it or dislike it but to eat a meal without processed garbage, loads of fat, meat and sugar is too far a stretch for some palates… But I love it! No, I’m not V&V but I do enjoy a few pure earthy clean dishes a week! My fav thing to order is the Bangkok Curry Bowl and the Portobello«Sausage» Burger! Nicely seasoned and fresh ingredients. I always finish a meal off with their famous Peanut Butter Parfaits! TODIEFOR I’ve introduced many to this sweet treat and they all are obsessed with it! Lol Definitely come often and will for the foreseeable future! Happy Eats!

I’m neither vegetarian or vegan but I love this place. Their chicken sandwiches(the club especially), wings, wraps and sweet potatoe fries are all delicious. I even get food to go for my husband. A must is a side of their Chipotle mayo. The staff is very friendly and professional. My coworker and I pre-ordered our lunch and someone else took it so they gave us each enough giftcards to cover our food and then some and remade our food. This restaurant really is great.

I love my meat and native foods is all vegan/vegetarian. I ordered the Oklahoma burger, and the nachos with«meat». The nachos were amazing but the burger was alright. The meal was on the pricier side and the burger does not come with fries so I ordered a side of that as well that day. They offer drinks but no soda. The soda is replaced with watermelon juice and other teas as well. As a huuuuge meat lover, I would definitely come back for the nachos.

Even though I am not vegetarian or vegan, I have been coming here for over a year now. I absolutely love this place and everything it stands for. After recently watching Forks Over Knives(HIGHLYRECOMMENDBTW) I have decided to give a plant based diet a whirl. Native foods is proof that going meatless and dairy free doesn’t mean flavorless! Even my carnivorous boyfriend loves this place. We love the buffalo wings, the salads, nachos, chili, sweet potato fries, reuben and our newest fav: the southwestern burger! we haven’t had anything we don’t like. Save room for dessert! Great service too. Such friendly and knowledgeable employees. Keep it up Native Foods, the future is very bright for plant-based restaurants!

I was so excited to come here, unfortunately the chicken burger I ordered tasted funky and made me feel sick to my stomach after a few bites:(and I’m vegan and I usually like faux chicken. the bun was also slathered with soooo much sauce, both buns were soggy and fell apart and I couldn’t grab the burger:(and the avocado was in huge slices, not ready for a burger at all:(their drinks were AMAZING though and the atmosphere was so nice and welcoming, I’m sure if I tried something else it would be awesome, but I’m leaving a review of what I had. I feel bad saying bad things, but maybe they will realize to put the sauce on the burgers not on the bun to make it more edible and easy to hold:)

One of the best selections of vegan in town. I love how there are so many options here. I personally vote it a 4 because I don’t eat soy and most dishes have soy, but knowing that that’s a personal preference I still rated it 5 stars. I love their rewards program — I always get updates when they have new dishes. Vegan diets make a massive difference for a our planet and I can’t wait to see places like this a lot more mainstream and common.

Pretty good and fresh food that is very filling and healthy. Portions are ok/decent. Prices are a little steep though for what you get. I guess health has its price. Sandwich w/side salad and fountain lemonade — about $ 17+ as I recall. It is not terribly fast either. This visit, my 3rd I believe, seemed longer than any other. During a not very crowded lunch time, it took a good 10 minutes, probably closer to 15, to get my salad and sandwich. Not a complicated order, a sandwich, so not sure why it took so long. Service is friendly and attentive though. The teas and lemonades are very good.

This place offers a refreshing variety of vegan, gluten free selections that satisfy the palate and bring a smile to your face. I have had several entrees from here, and every one has been super delicious. I love that they make their own ingredients(many) and teas(all) and put their own special spin on traditional dishes. I recommend Native Foods to anyone wanting a unique dining experience, whether you are vegan or not. Trust me, you won’t know the difference, and you WILL tell your friends about it. It is just that good.

Yum! Vegan and wonderful. I have never been to a «fully» vegan restaurant, and though I’m not a vegan myself, this place made vegan LOOKDELICIOUS! Was driving through the area and wanted to try something new since we were there. The pictures are what really drew me. So colorful and pretty pieces of plated art. It really is a 5 star restaurant, with attention given to everything from the quality and presentation of the food, to the décor, nicely designed menu and so on. I ordered the Avocado Crunch Wrap. It was as you would expect, full of fresh raw ingredients. It reads that there is mango slaw in it but I never tasted mango. Maybe it was the flavor of the dressing. I liked that it was easy to eat, unique, healthy and was very fresh. My husband got the Native Chicken, Bacon & Avo Club which was the prettier of the dishes with the bun open and ingredients piled high on both sides. Although I will say it was a bit messy to eat once you fold it together and start diving in. My husband enjoyed it, and he’s a straight meat eater. In general the details in the food made eating it a pleasure. Details like the super thin curly onions, or the finely cut carrots, or the special seasons on the fries or the unique blend of juices such as, Watermelon strawberry, Lavender lemonade, etc. You can tell there is a lot of TLC in the food. And eating healthy is something that has always been important to me and this place offers quality, healthy, flavorful and affordable food in a nice comfortable environment. That’s a definite 5 star in my book.

We love the Chicken Ranch burger. What’s great about eating here is I can have a «steak» sandwich knowing it’s really not steak! I’m not a vegetarian but I do love this place. They do create amazing flavors with their food and always great service when I come here. I also like the Portabella sandwich so yummy! Okay I just have to add the dessert I just tried was amazing! Mango Tango Pudding Parfait: Mango, pineapple with chia in coconut milk and shredded coconut is absolutely delicious!

I ordered the Mexican Cobb. I was worried that it had tofu bacon and was entirely meatless but it was very satisfying and tasty. The salad also came with roasted corn, black beans, jicama, salsa fresca, romaine, avocado, toasted pepitas and creamy jalapeño-cilantro dressing all of these blended together to make a great medley of textures and flavors. The restaurant was very open and inviting with great murals painted all over. The service was outstanding and the employees made it seem like they were happy to serve me.

I didn’t expect to like this place… When Vegetarian, Gluten-Free friends wanted to meet here to eat before an event, my taste buds screamed, «Yuck — another place where they claim that ‘Even though it’s vegetarian, you don’t miss the meat — the substitute tastes just like chicken!”» Well, okay, I decided I’d be a good sport. I do like to eat Vegetarian, at home, where I can make sure the food has plenty of flavor, and isn’t only carbs. So…I’m a convert. I couldn’t believe that the«Chicken Wings» actually tasted like delicious, boneless, chicken! I declined to order them, so my husband did(three choices of sauce — he got the«tangy BBQ»), and I tasted them. I liked them so much, that I ate two of my husband’s, and decided to get another(large) order, to share at the table!(Insert«sheepish» and«humbled» here.) Chicken wings are not gluten-free. I got the Grilled Avocado Salad. How the heck were they able to actually get grill marks on the avocado without the avo getting mushy? Delicious! The salad was dressed too lightly, but they cheerfully gave us extra salad dressing, which was great. Better to dress it too lightly and have us add, rather than to drench it and have to start over. Gluten free. My husband got the Curried Tofu Bowl, and the tofu was cooked and spiced perfectly. Very mild curry flavor(but scrumptious), and very mildly spiced, but readily available(on the counter) options to add spice. We would definitely get it again. Gluten-free. This is a place where you order at the counter, find your own seat, and they bring the food to you. They had someone coming around to the tables to make sure everything was okay, and to get feedback. They really WANTED to know what feedback we had. Still a lot of carbs and carb-proteins, but there are salads and other options that are carb-free. Everything is «plant-based» and they even have water in little box cartons, which is better for the environment that water bottles. Okay, so when I fall, I fall hard. We are now on their email list, and will be back! So many reasons to support this place!

AMAZINGFOOD! AMAZINGSERVICE! We were looking for a healthy dinner option in our area and saw this place had the highest reviews and reasonable prices. The area it’s located in is nice enough. A few other food options in the immediate area and grocery stores. Upon walking in we thought the décor was nice enough. There was almost no wait and it was very clean inside. As soon as we approached the counter the cashier welcomed us with a big smile. Jeremy was absolutely awesome! He was so warm, friendly, and well informed about the menu. We asked him his advice on what to order and he was so descriptive on the food we had trouble deciding because he made everything sound so delicious. The whole time he was very positive and made us feel so welcomed even though they weren’t far from closing for the night. While waiting for our food we grabbed some beverages which were also the great! The unsweetened Green Tea and a few of the sweetened drinks(names slip my mind) were awesome. The food was awesome too! Jeremy gave us great advice on the food. The sweet potato fries were amazing. They had some kind of seasoning on them that made them spectacular. But the sweet potato fries paled in comparison to the buffalo chicken… soooo good! The perfect combination of salt and heat. The texture would almost have you think it was real chicken. The korean sub had a great sweet asian taste to it and the chicken bacon avo was very hearty and is definitely a top choice for anyone who likes avocado. I’d recommend this place to anyone who likes to eat healthy and vegetarian but I would really recommend it to anyone who thinks vegetarian food cant taste good. This place is light on the calories and oh so high on flavor. I can’t wait to go back!

I’m no where near a vegan or vegetarian but damn this food is pretty tasty. So when a friend invited me here to have dinner I said okay cool not really knowing what it was. So you know I had to check it out on Unilocal and sure enough it was a vegan place. I didn’t know what to think at first but I said okay I’ll check it out. Its a real casual place with an outside patio inside of a shopping plaza. I like the whole vibe here because. I thought it was going to be uptight but I was wrong. There’s one big open dining area and then the outside patio with heaters. I came here for Thanksgiving it was buffet style and it was so delicious. I couldn’t believe how good the food was and there was no meat, no dairy products or anything like that. I’ve been missing out on this pretty good food for a long time and they even have some desserts. They have some drinks there are fantastic I could probably just drink them all day long and they’re very refreshing.

Delicious and healthy in one, what’s not to love about this place? I had the portobello sausage seitan burger and she ordered the Thai curry tofu bowl. Both were surprisingly delicious! I’m saying surprising because I’m never a vegetarian and going to a veg place is never my priority…(At least I’m honest to myself: P) but we picked this place because we both had not been eating much greens and feeling fat. So let’s meet up for some healthy food! I’m not a burger person, but that portobello mushroom was so juicy and buttery, and the seitan(wheat gluten patty) was flavorful and full of texture! Combined with the roasted garlic, the pumpkin seed pesto and toasted wheat buns, their veggie burger was by far the best I had! The curry bowl had 3 pieces of seared tofu served with steamed kale and other vegetables on a plate of rice. The coconut curry sauce might not be the most authentic Thai taste, but the whole dish was so refreshing and savory at the same time! You can’t walk out without feeling good after eating that bowl of steamed kale. It’s a plus that they made it tasty, no bitter aftertaste at all. The staff were very friendly and the lady at the register was so generous to offer me a sample of the African peanut(not just a sip but served in an actual soup bowl on a saucer with a spoon) after I asked about how it tasted it. I liked it but I didn’t order it because of the portion I wanted to eat that evening. The restaurant was spacious and seating was wide open, kind of like Noodles and Company where you order you food up front then pick your own seat. The prices could be lower, but given that they serve good healthy food with fresh ingredients and a creative menu, I would totally go back to try other items!
