We got a gf birthday cake here a few months ago and it was only ok… actually, the frosting tasted like butter… a thick layer of butter. Since my only reason for eating a gluten free cake is to enjoy the frosting, this put a damper on the joy that usually exudes from birthday cakes. I was going to order a pie from here but was reminded by my family that no one liked the cake…

Breakfast panini had no flavor. Very disappointed. Especially given it was $ 10. Seems like they use good ingredients in their food, so I was surprised with how poor the taste was of the panini. Stay home, cook an egg, Toast some bread, add some cheese and it will be better than this.

Their baked goodies are always so delicious , the muffins are so moinst and have so much flavor, you can’t tell it’s gluten free but it is so expensive almost $ 4 for a muffins, I wish it was cheaper so I would come every day.

AMAZING!!! Best gluten-, corn– and soy-free foods in San Diego. Plus they have cake!!! If you give them a Unilocal from the café … You get a cupcake!

Overall my experience wasn’t great. I’m not sure if the cashier was having a rough morning or what but she wasn’t helpful. My experience. I walk in there are two people in line and a large display case of some seriously tasty looking sweets. While waiting I looked up at the breakfast menu posted and pick out a breakfast panini which took a while since I’ve never been. Get to the register and order the breakfast panini… «We stopped serving breakfast at 11.» Look at the time and it’s 11:03. I’ve worked in cafes and served customers that have come in 10+ after we were closed… I think a 5 minute grace period isn’t that out of the question. Also maybe change the large LED menu to lunch at 11 it would prevent new customers from mistakenly ordering from it. Moving on. I ordered a honeydew almond smoothie, chipotle chicken panini with two sides salad and cinnamon pudding. The cashier informed me to wait in this area for the smoothie but gave no other instructions for my meal. Another employee got started right away made it and handed it to me which would have been awesome except he made the wrong one. I ended up with some gritty ginger smoothie. My boyfriend liked it. I was pretty bummed but not the worst. Chicken chipotle panini was pretty good, the chicken was not seasoned, the bread crumbled, but if you smashed them together with the sauce it was good. The salad was just like any other salad. The cinnamon bread pudding was really really good. I’m sure all the other desserts were as well. I suppose I’d recommend this place to get sweets but definitely not to get a meal. Maybe I got his place on the wrong day.

Everything is gluten free. 2Good2Be true? Well, to be honest, it was just ok. The sides were delicious(we had the Italian salad and root medley). The sandwich was a bit bland. Whether or not the lack of gluten contributed to this, I cannot be sure. However, my friend said his cookie tasted like cardboard. He fixed this by dipping the cookie in water. Blegh

Alright, time for an update! Breakfast is where it’s at with this place! I have come back a couple times since my first review and it has consistently been much better. Today I had the Breakfast Panini with a side of the scalloped potatoes. SUPER delicious! You’d never know the bread on the panini is gluten free… it taste just like regular bread! I have also had the cinnamon rolls on a previous visit(shhh!) also very tasty and a nice treat for days when you want something a little naughty while staying gluten free. The staff has been friendly and I have not felt rushed at all. Glad we have become friends, 2Good2B! ;)

Everything here is Gluten free, GMO free and as good for you as humanly possible! Very nice selection of hot and cold food items as well as plenty of tasty looking desserts. Prices are a bit high, but given the uqlaity and care they put into each item, plus the ingredients costing them more than the garbage most other places use, I feel it is justified. I went with a chocolate ganache mini cupcake($ 2 for small, $ 4 for large) and it was really tasty. Did not notice a difference in taste or texture, chocolaty, great frosting, all very good. Service was very nice and the place cute with easy parking and plenty of seating. I will have to come back again and try more next time!

Since I never heard a reply, I will simply post the email I sent to 2good2b. «Cristian, I wanted to reach out and let you know feedback regarding the cake I ordered for 4 – 9. I had repeatedly asked for the cake to be navy blue with small dots to emulate stars. I sent pics and even picked from a swatch you sent me. The cake my coordinator picked up was not in any way what I ordered. It was light/medium blue, it had a HUGE blob of white frosting on it, which I think was supposed to be a moon? And it had glitter on it. All in all, it tasted delicious, but was in no way what I ordered. It did not match the theme or the décor I purchased for it(cake topper & fondant space ships.) I was really upset when I saw it, but had no time to do anything about it. It was a small detail but one I worked hard to get right and was disappointed to see. »

This place is AMAZING! They have delicious food that I can actually eat(being that I’m a vegetarian and gluten-intolerant). I have only been twice because I live so far away, if it were closer to me, I’d be here several times a week! My 2nd time here I happened to meet the owner, she was very friendly and even offered me to sample some food. I also noticed the owner had great energy with the staff. The olive baguette is amazing and all the cupcakes are too! Please open up a location in the San Diego Hillcrest area!!! Much love! …and I’ll be back soon!

Awesome find on our trip to La Jolla. Drove a little further to get to this place after reading the reviews and it didn’t disappoint… I was like a kid in a candy store since I could order nearly everything even with my allergies. Thank you for making good food that is free from so many allergies! Wish we were around longer so I could go back and try breakfast… chicken pot pie and sweet potato side was yummo

I really wanted to love this place so I’m gonna come back and give it another chance sometime in the near future. I recently had to go gluten free and Unilocaled all the best GF places to eat in San Diego county since I am a foodie and this place came up. I wanted to write a 5 star review and I wanted it to live up to the hype… My husband ordered the classic club sandwich with a salad and chips and I ordered the chicken pot pie with potatoes and butternut squash. We also both got iced teas. I really wanted to order desserts since they all looked so yummy but after seeing what our total bill was for 2 meals and 2 drinks I had to say no :( Our food came out fairly quickly. My husband didn’t like his sandwich because it had way too much bread. He took out the middle slice from each sandwich and ate his sandwich that way. He said he was still hungry and that it wasn’t worth the price he paid. I was so excited to bite into my chicken pot pie because OMG it’s GF chicken pot pie, right?! They got my order wrong. it was the beef pot pie. I gave it back and they apologized and gave me a chicken pot pie in about 30 seconds. I thought, «Oh, that was fast?» and started to chow down. My pie was cold. warm crust on the outside and freezing in the middle. I was so mad that they got it wrong a second time that I just asked for a to-go box and warmed it up at home later that evening. The food was okay at home so I wish they got it right the first time and that I had it warm and fresh at the restaurant. That’s why I guess I’ll come back when I’m in the area to give 2Good2B another shot.

My first time here the prices were exceptionally high compared to say whole foods. The customer service is good they are very helpful in recommending stuff. I ordered the veggie omelette it was ok if you enjoy olives because that seemed to be the only thing that I tasted even though there were other veggies in it. The bread it comes with was very plain and the sweet potatoes side dish was not good at all. I ordered a chai tea was not a big fan of loose leave it had a weird taste. Just these two items my total was almost $ 20.00. I would come back to buy a cake or pastry from here but that’s about it.

I’ve known of this place for a long time but don’t live near by so I haven’t had a chance to come in until now. Gluten free and dairy free is new to me so I was so excited to have this option as a place to eat! Lots and lots of options, everything looked amazing. The guy at the counter(I didn’t get his name) was friendly and helpful in suggesting things that I should try. I was a little bummed they were out of the turkey chili they have on the menu because that was my first choice and they didn’t have another dairy free soup option. I ended up with the acai bowl which was delicious. The acai was nice and thick, not runny like I’ve had it at some places which was a plus. Also, the fruit on top was fresh and tasty, and the gluten free granola was great too! All in all, 5 stars for sure. I will be going home with a couple of goodies as well.

Tried them out for the first time on Thursday for breakfast. Parking is in a large lot, shouldn’t have any trouble finding a conveniently located space. Small but warm and welcoming dining area, very clean and tidy. Staff was genuinely friendly and answered my many questions knowledgeably and politely. I had the Quiche Lorraine, which came with a small side salad and my lovely wife had the Challah French Toast. We had the house iced tea, and it was my favorite, passionfruit. The quiche was exceptionally good… buttery crust, loaded with ham and cheese and so delicious that I got a frozen one to take home. The accompanying salad was a bit skimpy, but the vinaigrette dressing was tasty. They were giving out samples of their raspberry trifle dessert(it has rum in it, be forewarned)…and it was scrumptious, so we got one of those, a tiramisu, half a loaf of their sandwich white bread(frozen) and a four-pack of their mini cinnamon buns, with cream cheese frosting. Those cinnamon buns are decadently yummy, but definitely benefit from 30 seconds in the microwave. This is overall the best gluten free food I have ever eaten. You could safely bring people who eat gluten products here, as with many of the foods offered, it’s almost impossible to tell that they are gluten free. Ain’t gonna lie, prices are a bit on the high side, but that is the way it is for just about all gluten free products… the ingredients cost more, so the food is more expensive. It doesn’t bother me, because the portion sizes are generous, the food is hearty, very high quality and deeply satisfying. I plan on making regular trips to 2Good2B, and if you have to eat gluten-free, you should too!

I called this bakery because I needed a gluten-free birthday cake for my mom. They were very friendly and helpful over the phone as I ordered my cake. The cake was simple but done very well, with little flourishes around the edges and«Happy Birthday Mom» written in pink icing on top. They even left me some space at the top of the cake to add my own cake topper, just as I had requested. But the look of the cake wasn’t the best part. I am not gluten-free, but if this is what gluten-free cake tastes like, count me in! It was delicious! Everyone raved over it! The group was very full after a big sushi meal, yet when we tasted the cake, we helped ourselves to seconds. It was a vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream frosting, passion fruit curd and fresh cut up strawberries. I highly recommend this filling! The fresh fruit was an extra $ 5 but it was so worth it!

I am not normal gluten free but I thought I’d give this place a shot anyway. Their food was good, but super expensive. For example, I had a breakfast panini, which was $ 9 plus $ 3 to add bacon. I can buy a pound of bacon for $ 3 and to my knowledge, it’s already gluten free. So I am not sure why the absurd mark up in that. My iced coffee was $ 4(I get the same thing at starbs for $ 2.15) and again I’m pretty sure it’s already gluten free so I can’t come up with any good reason for the high price. I feel like a meal like this would normally run around $ 15 – 17 at a different place. We spent $ 33 for two breakfast meals. It’s not worth it.

With the«clean food» kick that my wife is trying to follow for us, we wanted to give this place a try. Gluten free baked goods are hard to come by. Now, gluten free that tastes good is even harder! 2Good2B has done a great job of both! We had gone by after she tried some of their breads soon after a local event. We grabbed some loaves of bread, muffins and other baked goods. The cinnamon raisin bread was great. We also grabbed a loaf of the rosemary bread. Was a bit so so on that one. I think the key may have been that we didn’t finish both loaves soon enough. Probably should have only gotten one loaf. The muffins were best as they were moist and delicious. The kids loved them as their snack that day. We later went back for breakfast. All items gluten, corn and soy free! Couldn’t believe it till you taste it. We enjoyed a quiche with a side of potatoes along with teas. The quiche was filling and delicious. More substantial than another local bakery down the street. They also serve scramblers, paninis and pancakes. We’ll be back to try those things. Teas were a bit light. Didn’t pack the flavor of others. Also got a free mini muffin for checking in on Unilocal!:-) Anyway, with science trying to find out why people are getting sick more often than when they did years ago, fingers are pointing to diets. You are what you eat! So by putting more healthy options in, you in turn should be more healthy too! At least that’s what they say… Keep on Unilocal’n!
