I normally love this place and it has a really great happy hour menu but this time the service was terrible. For no reason or waitress ignored us for 15 minutes while we sat there waiting making eye contact the whole time. I’m not sure if we look like somebody else that was a terrible customer in the past or what. Management needs to jump on the ball with making sure the waitresses don’t have some weird attitude about customers. It wasn’t even busy. The girls next door has even commented that they would have gotten up and left too.

Awesome place. Nice and open and very friendly! The place was clean which means a lot and the«Hapi Hour:» was great. We had Beach Bum combo(served with a pint; a hot sake & the Beach Bum Roll), a side of the tempura greens(aka green-beans) and the yellow-tail Hamachi(served a top micro greens with julienned beet and carrots and radish slice) Nice presentation. They were all fantastic! We will be back! Keep up the great work!

Not bad sushi but 13 $ for a rainbow roll. Get outta here with that nonsense. Wanted to switch it up since we always do hooked on sushi but looks like that won’t happen again.

The food was awesome but the customer service is what truly sealed the deal for me. Warren was our waiter and he really was so personable and made our first time there very memorable. I highly recommend this Hapi place.

Came here for some good sushi on a Sunday afternoon, it was not busy at all and service was not great. It was too slow, so I ordered something quick since I was already there and left to get some real dinner elsewhere. I don’t think I’ll be back. Sushi was good tho

Great ambiance. Fun and casual place to meet with friends and have some sake. The food is not great. I had the miso soup(tasty, but just broth), fried dumplings(gross), California Roll with real crab($ 4 upcharge), and the Beach Bum roll, which is really just rice and cream cheese(not good). If I want sushi, I’ll go to Gami or someplace that prides itself in quality food. 3 stars for the ambiance and happy hour specials on sake.

Overall was very happi with our experience. The happy menu provided great deals and $ 1 sake! The rolls themselves were fresh, unique, and tasted great. My favorite was the beach bum which had crab & cream cheese. There was a covered patio and I really enjoyed the sitting area.

Gracious with the three after tonight. Loud, utterly freezing, waitress kept walking away when we were trying to order, friendly but totally lacking in restaurant service skills, food bland or popping with sugar, nigiri good but the salmon in a roll was off. Freezing and took two hours. Oh and overpriced for what we ordered. Still 3 stars for the cool vibe, dog friendly. I would go for happy hour sometime maybe, eat carefully, but not for dinner. I would rather spend that kind of time and money for a more quality experience and dinner.

Hapifish is actually a decent sushi joint in a pretty solid location. The ambiance and service is very good and the sushi is kind of just average. When you drive by Hapifish, you almost wonder wth this place is as the signage and building do not look like the traditional sushi joint. As you enter, you’ll soon realize that this place is much bigger than it appears and it’s somewhat of a beachy mixed with sushi vibe which is pretty cool. Have had several menu items here and sadly they are all average or slightly above average meaning there is really nothing that knocks your socks off, just some decent food and some cool vibes. Overall, not the greatest but definitely not a bad sushi option considering the location. Pros– Location Ambiance Vibe Size Substantial menu Decent service Plentiful parking Cons– Average sushi Pricey Smaller portions Cheap chopsticks

Really great drink specials. Come before 7 and take advantage of the great«happy» hour. The sushi and food is really tasty as well. However I don’t stop in very often because the prices are outrageous. I paid $ 8 for a hand roll… hmmm.

I’ve walked or driven past this restaurant many times and noticed that it always seemed busy. I stopped in this Wednesday to try their all day happy hour. I sat at the bar and started with a Sculpin IPA to drink and some edamame. They put some special seasoning on the edamame which was a little different tasting. I also had an order of the gyoza and their beach bum roll which contains tuna, crab, cream cheese and jalapeño. The beach bum was pretty tasty. I sat at the bar and the bartender was busy so service was a tad slow. Also, a couple of the items on my bill weren’t at happy hour prices which he quickly corrected after I pointed this out to him. It was a pretty good experience and I’d go back again for happy hour.

I love Hapifish! Best sushi that I’ve had in North County. The manager and staff are always great and very helpful. The jalapeño miso soup is delicious and only $ 1 during happy hour! Happy hour is all day Wednesday and 3 – 6 every day. I highly recommend the no rice rolls as well. Everything I’ve had here is great :)

Not a bad spot. Service can be a little slow at times. Food is decent. I’ve had the shrimp roll with albacore on top, which has a touch of spice. The dumplings are good. The tofu bowl w/veggies is pretty good if you like that sort of thing. The rolls all live up to the expectation, pretty good and pretty similar.

Sauce. sauce… and more sauce were on all the rolls we ordered. I could barely taste the fish. Miso soup was good. I appreciate the fresh hot plates… however not when we order mochi ice cream! It was all melted by the time it reached our table(see pic). :(

We had the best dinner here this evening! We started out with the poke nachos, to die for!!! Sooo delish! For the rolls we chose the crazy Asian, the south beach and the spicy tuna roll. All there were absolutely amazing! We ended our night with the melt in your mouth dessert roll and it was a hit! We gobbled that thing up in seconds. We enjoyed the ambiance of the patio and wee honored with a little visit from the owner, Justin! Justin, thanks for a great experience at hapifish! We will definitely come back everytime we are in town!

First time here a couple days ago, I was very pleased with the whole setting of the restaurant. The staff is very professional and friendly, and the sushi is just as great too! You can find this gem in between Captain Keenos and I believe its a small car dealership too. You cannot miss the huge blue sign with the logo of a fish(heaven) The pricing and menu options are endless here, but very selective so you are not overwhelmed on what to get. I ordered 3 different rolls(crunchy, spicy tuna & specialty roll) These rolls were fit for a king and as fresh as it can get! They definitely live it to their business name, because a HapiFish is a Hapi customer :) I highly recommend you checking this place out if you are in Encinitas. Its great for huge groups or a special date, either way its a win win! :D

HapiFish is a great place to go with friends for some casual sushi. Service: Everyone here is so nice and helpful. The service definitely gets 5 stars. Food: The sushi is pretty good. Its very americanized sushi(some fried sushi, and even a roll with chicken). The Chef’s sashimi plate is awesome! More traditional and very fresh. Atmosphere: The restaurant recently got a face lift and it looks awesome! Really cool, casual vibe, and enough room for large parties.
