This is a review for their store. Great chimichangas, tasty pupusas, good nachos. While their nachos may defer from how a lot of place’s make theirs, I find them super tasty and filling. Good experience to order through EAT24 and come over to pickup. Wished they were open later or on Sundays. Overall, like coming here!

I love pupusas, so even though I’ve been here and to their truck often, I can only speak about the pupusas. I can barely say what else is on the menu besides pupusas and standard taqueria fare. They are good and fairly priced. Two pupusas, with cortida and salsa, are filling. No salsa bar. Sometimes you get free chips and salsa, sometimes not(though surely one would just have to ask.) The interior is like any other taqueria, with Mexican tiles and neon beer signs and festive flair. It’s a little smaller than most, so a party of more than four people might need to squeeze.

I am not sure why this place is so highly rated. It’s «meh.» Nothing great and definitely nothing that I would ever recommend. Just«meh.» The staff is not extremely helpful, you have to request chips and salsa instead of having a chip/salsa bar available for customers, and the food is not very exciting. I got the Huevos a la Mexicana and though it was ok, it was still not exciting. The flavors lack that iconic Mexican kick and the beans and rice both look processed. What really irks me is that the tortillas are store-bought, too. I mean, really? They are like plastic. I’m not impressed at all. The only way I would come back is for a late-night craving of junk food after a night of drinking… but even then I’d still probably choose a more satisfying place.

*The Menudo guy* Price: $ 9.95 Comes with hominy, corn tortillas(store bought). No oregano, was not given option to get it with hoof Authenticity: ++ Taste: +++ Cleanliness: +++ Portion: ++ Overall: ++(of 5) Is never a good sign when the cashier doesn’t not know that they have menudo, despite being on the menu. Not impressed at all with the menudo or the portion size. Average at best.

Pretty decent taqueria on San Pablo at the edge of Emeryville and Oakland. There doesn’t seem to be too many Mexican places nearby so this is a go to spot. I like that you can choose your tortilla for burritos and there are a variety of meats beyond steak, chicken, and carnitas. Their lengua was pretty good. Only annoying thing is that I asked for refried beans and got black beans instead.

Something is changing here… This use to be my weekly spot. I usually order the same thing after trying half of the menu. No joke, I’ve been charge $ 10.50-$ 15.00 for the same plate. Never know what you’re gonna get. Slow! Good lord. Usually waiting 10 – 15 minutes before they get through 2 – 3 customers. Go two blocks closer to Oakland and there is a much better spot, a bit cheaper and the customer service is much nicer.

Food truck review! I had been craving a shrimp taco for a few days so I asked my husband if we could go to off the grid in Fremont to try this taco truck. We walked around to make sure nothing else looked good before ordering. We still ended up at the taco truck. My husband only eats veggie burritos so he got the bean and cheese with avocado and loved it. My shrimp taco was great. I wasn’t sure one would fill me up but it did. I hope to see you at this location again! They also have horchata(we didn’t try) and jarritos including the apple one we ordered(a hard to find favorite).

Food is as authentic as you can get without driving to Mexico! Be ready to use those Spanish skills when ordering as the staff hardly speaks any English, good sign if you’re into authentic Mexican food. Daily specials, beer on tap, wine.

Ordered 4 things and 3 out of the 4 was not what I ordered , ordered chimchanga with green sauce they gave me red sauce , ordered 2 ground beef tacos and got 2 dry steak tacos, and the third mistake I ordered steak taco with shrimp and refried beans and got black beans instead .Then to top that off the lady cooking and handing you your food gotta an attitude like she don’t want to be at work, so now I’m up at 3 in the morning writing this review because of the heart burn from the red sauce I should have took all that shit back smh !

I purchase food from Cassave, on average, once every two weeks(Wednesdays at the Snow Park Food Pod). Their pupusas are delicious as are their tacos. Better than your average Mexican/South American street food. I had Baja Fish Tacos today(just finished lunch) that were really hard to get through though. The fish was so overcooked that it was chewy. I’ve never had that experience anywhere. I would prefer to leave this feedback with them directly, but there isn’t a contact link on their website so I’m hoping they(1) see this review and are more careful with the fish in the future and(2) make email feedback accessible so they can improve their product. To summarize, my meal today was 2 stars(leaning closer to 1 star) but on average I’d give them a 3.5.

I had a wet chinichanga and it was really tasty. I personally liked the green salsa on it better than the red one. The meat had a lot of flavor and the rice did as well. I also ordered one of their Agua fresca which was the mango pineapple one, really fresh and sweet. My friend had the steak nachos and they where also equally as flavorful, the chips where really crispy and perfectly salted, the cheese was super gooey and hot, and the Carne asada was really good. Service was nice.

A cut above. Sauteed mushrooms in the camarones al mojo de ajo made it a superior dish. And the shrimp were not overcooked as in most places, but were tender and tasteful. Excellent chips but the salsa is too hot for me.

Bland and unfulfilling. Was also asked for my ID charging $ 13 of food. Bad taste in my mouth in every possible way.

SO happy we found this place! super great vegetarian burrito & plantains(both vegan, but the plantains you just ask for it without sour cream). my husband and i are vegan and have been trying to find good burritos that have more than just rice and beans so this was a godsend. plus they have pineapple Jarritos which is his favorite. And the staff was VERY friendly and knowledgeable about our dietary restrictions. if you like spicy, definitely try their habanero salsa. very very spicy and very yummy!

This place was super tasty. Was not prepared for the huge portions. A very satisfying experience.

This is a true gem at the end of a mini strip mall with the requisite barber supply shop, donut store that also sells steam table Chinese food, and a Laundromat. Cassave puts out some serious food with Salvadorean twists. Although orders take time to come out, everything is clearly made to order and with great attention to detail. Even the humble Mexican street tacos are a relevation of great, fresh ingredients and balance of flavor. Both the chicken and beef versions are unique flavor-bombs. These folks are running a wonderful place with an interesting menu to explore. Go check them out!

Not impressed on a number of counts. The one time I take a longer lunch(which is a rare occasion) to feed the mista and lil’ one, it felt a bit wasted, and here’s why… Being the Unilocal nerd I am, I promptly checked into the resto to let all the homies know I was out and about, and eating cool things, duh. Lo and behold, a Unilocal Check-In Deal! 50% off of a second entrée with the purchase of the first. I was totally stoked. Until *drumroll* disappointment #1 — the cashier would not accept it. No apology as to why she couldn’t, and no explanation either. It was only when I pried further that she explained only the manager knew how to apply the discount. I asked how often the manager was in. Her response? Someone else tried to the redeem the deal yesterday too — and neither herself nor her coworkers knew what to do. I get it. Things happen. Details get missed. But the problem was mostly that I got a very dismissive feeling from the whole interaction that didn’t bode well in the customer service aspect of things. Disappointment #2 — holy shet, Batman! How long does it take to get an order put together? I think I’m pretty patient when it comes to waiting for my grub, but 35 minutes for a pay-at-the-register/pick-up-at-the-window situation is a bit much when there aren’t that many people in line ahead of me. Not pleased to say the least. Disappointment #3 — the food. Nothing was terrible, but it wasn’t amazing either. Mediocre chimichanga, mediocre tacos, mediocre quesadilla. The kind of stuff you would find at your local chain Mexican restaurant(I won’t name any names, but it rhymes with Heavy’s). And no chips and salsa while you wait. Even«Heavy’s» at least gives ya that. *Le sigh, le sadness.* I won’t be backness.

This little unassuming joint cranks out some seriously delicious pupusas. I’ve been here for a casual lunch with friends as well as catered their amazing selection of pupusas and I can say that they aim to please. Their combinations are delicious and the loroso pupusa is definitely my favorite. In my catering experience, service was a little messy(it was a very very last minute order) but they took my order and delivered wonderfully. Pros: +Pricing is reasonable +Taste is huge +Pupusas are on the larger side +Great if you’re in a rush and need a quick, delicious bite

I’ve walked and driven past this place for almost a year now. It never looked like much, and so I was never really inclined to stop and try it out. Finally caved the other day when I just wanted to walk to a Mexican flavored lunch. The place is very small. There are some small tables and a bar type area to eat at, but that’s it. We were lucky to snag one of the few booths to enjoy lunch at. And we really did. For such a little hole in the wall place, they had a good selection, some booze to choose from, and the flavors were great. The place doesn’t(seem to) have air conditioning, and the afternoon sun made it steamy inside, but if you get the booth situated between the two doors, you actually get a nice cross breeze that makes it bearable. Service was great, and it’s nicely decorated inside. Take a chance. I’m sure you’ll be as pleasantly surprised as I was!
