The food was fresh and tasty and some of it was even a little outside the norm for diner food; for example I had the sriracha sausage burrito, which consisted of sausage cooked with a little sriracha, wrapped in a tortilla with cheese and other ingredients. The home fries were tasty, the kind that we prefer(slices of potato fried until a little crispy in places but soft and mealy and potato-y in others). DBF’s pork chop was EXTREMELY thick-cut, and surprisingly seasoned with paprika in among the usual salt and pepper. We’d definitely come back if in the area and looking for a good meal.

While visiting family we decided to try them out. Services was horrible and slow. Watch two tables wait 15 – 20 just to place drink orders. Watch 5 other tables and including are waited 40 – 50 minutes for there food. We ordered chicken stripes and cheeseburger. Watched are order set in window for 15 minutes before she finally brought it to us. Fries where cold couldn’t eat them, chicken and cheeseburger where barely lukewarm. Salad bar had nothing to it. Never plan on visiting this place again. Horrible I wouldn’t give them a star but the site wouldn’t let me

Went here with some family and did not enjoy it, the chopped eggs on teh salad bar was frozen. The service was terrible. The food was salty and tasted like preservatives. Wont be back.

While taking a scenic drive through Indiana, came upon the town of Elwood and decided was time to stop and grab a bite to eat. We had not passed a lot of places, so decided next place we saw that looked promising was where we would stop. We saw Richard’s and since the outward appearance was neat and looked tidy, decided to stop. That was a good thing. The service was good, although we apparently stopped in at the beginning of the afternoon rush. The menu selections were nice and the wife and I decided to try different things from the menu(she had meat loaf, salad, and chicken noodle soup; I broasted chicken, mashed taters, and salad.) The food was EXCELLENT, freshly prepared(not instant or canned here!), hot, and tasty. The servings are not huge, but ample and are priced very fairly. All of the food looked and tasted good. Since the pie of the month was peach, we decided to get a pie and take it to the kids and save ourselves from it at that time. Later, when we tried the pie, it was apparent that it was made from fresh peaches, not canned ones as most other places use. The pie crust was light, the filling the way Mom made it when I was a kid. I had asked if the pies were made«on-site» before ordering and was assured it was and the taste of the pie confirmed that whoever baked it knew what they were doing. Do yourself a favor, if you are around Elwood, stop in and give this place a try, you will be glad you did. PS: A very complete menu is available.
