Address is incorrect, it’s actually by marsh but the food was great. Best Mexican food I have had in a long time.

We stumbled on this place by accident. We found ourselves in Elwood at mealtime, so we started looking up restaurants on our GPS, and found Asian King listed at this address. Apparently, this was an Asian restaurant at some point in the past. But no more… now it’s a Mexican restaurant… and a pretty darn fine one at that. The service was outstanding. We were promptly greeted, even though it was the height of the dinner hour. Chips and salsa at our table just a minute or so after we were seated. Drink orders taken and delivered Johnny on the spot. And the food was… simply outstanding. I chose the Chimichanga Fundido(sp??) and it was seriously… one of the best dishes I’ve had in a Mexican restaurant up here in the great white north. I can’t say enough about it. Just outstanding. Holly had Tacos de Carne Asada and liked them quite a lot. Not quite as much as I liked mine, but still above average. I gotta say a word about the salsa. This is some seriously good salsa. I’d take a bath in it if I could. It’s that good. We don’t get to Elwood very often, but the next time we do, this will be at the top of our list for places to eat.

Extensive menu. The food was just okay. I had fajitas. I got three soft tortilla with the order. When I needed more, they brought me four and the charge was an extra buck. I kind of felt like I was in a off track betting parlor. Every single TV in the place was tuned to a live horse track.

This is seriously the best mexican in the area. WHy? Well first their salsa always has freshly chopped onions and cliantro in it. Their beans are seasoned with extra delicious. Seriously I have never had beans made like this. I don’t know who they have cooking but they know what they are doing. Like it isn’t just one of those places where the owners throw whoever in the kitchen they actually care about their food.

My favorite place to eat in Elwood. This place is one of the only consistent restaurants in town. I enjoy the variety of food their menu offers(Even though I seem to always grab the Carnitas). Unlike other Mexican places, all the entrees don’t look like a rearrangement of the same types of ingredients. Lots of flavor, good food, friendly service, and affordable prices. If your feelin’ like some Mexicana mi Amigos, make it «El Chile Poblano. «It doesn’t get any better, forget about it!
