Taverna Mykonos

This restaurant is fantastic. The service is superb and the food is fresh and delicious! Truly a hidden jem! We absolutely loved to décor and light instrumental jazz music playing in the background. We’ll definitely be back, highly recommend!

I took my department (20 people) from the office here for a holiday lunch. They did an excellent job. It’s annoying when these company lunches take too long but they had the appetizers ready when we arrived so everyone just started eating. Main courses were very tasty and came in a reasonable time too. They were able to accommodate vegetarians with a nice looking veg plate. Order the extra dessert plates – they were excellent. All in all, the food and service were very strong and they handled a large group very smoothly.

This is definitely one of the good spots to take someone on a date.

I had a great experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was on point. The desserts were absolutely amazing especially if you have a sweet tooth! I came hungry and left full! Give this place a shot, you will love it!

Pretty atmosphere & the food was great. Best swordfish I’ve had in ages! My husband got the octopus appetizer and loved it. My table shared a delicious rice pudding dessert. Will definitely be back!

Love the gyro here. Fries are really good as well. Large portions and great tzatziki sauce. The delivery guy is the best too!

Décor and service were fantastic. Beautiful restroom. Food was amazing. Grilled octopus appetizer was very flavorful and tender. I went for lunch and had chopped salad with chicken and it was such a treat as it was bursting with flavor. There is a range of price points, from $ 10 salads to $ 38 for a whole grilled fresh fish. I thought it was very reasonable. I live in Boston and will be sure to make this restaurant a stop whenever I’m visiting NJ. This is also a great date spot.

Best restaurant in the area. Employees and owner really care about you having a good experience. Owners wife makes all the dessert In house and it’s all great stuff.

Being on a commercial and scruffy part of route 4, I didn’t expect Taverna Mykonos would be so classy and modern. It’s a great place for a dinner date with a significant other or with friends.
The menu offers some traditional and some modern Greek dishes. For starters my friend and I shared the keftedes (meatballs), Saganaki (FRIED CHEESE), Skordalia (garlic potato spread), and grilled octopus. Everything was delectable. The standout for me was definitely the Saganaki. Thick blocks of cheese (like halloumi) pan fried then drizzled with olive oil and lemon. It had a nice golden crust and slightly melted interior. Perfect for cheese lovers. The grilled octopus was fresh and tender, served simply with capers, olive oil, vinegar.
For entrée we shared the whole Branzini which they deboned for us. The fish was grilled and prepared with lemon, olive oil, and some seasoning. It was simple, maybe a bit too simple for me. Perhaps if we kept the fish whole, instead of deboned, it would have had more sauce/​flavor.
The service was excellent. Our server was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. The restaurant has a modern, Mediterranean, artistic design providing a nice ambiance. The pricing is a bit high, so it’s a place I would go for a special night out. Overall, I would say one of the best Greek restaurants in the area.

Stumbled upon this restaurant a few weeks back. My brother and I had just gotten done with a family obligation and we were both pretty hungry. We found the restaurant through an «Around Me» search. Without much other research, we figured we’d be going to a counter-​service gyro place.
We were a little taken aback by its stylish interior. Very modern and sleek with a few cozy touches, like the big plush pillows in the pristine white booths.
Sure, we spent a lot more than we were expecting, but my brother and I both agreed that it was well worth it.
We started off with the tzatziki, and were excited about how warm and fresh the pita was and how good the tzatziki was. We’d experienced some subpar oily and watery options in the past, so the quality was definitely notable.
Both lamb lovers, we both opted for lamb entrees: he chose the lamb shank while I went with the lamb chops. We both experienced order envy when we saw the two beautifully plated dishes come our way. But we were also both delighted to find that both dishes were fantastic. My lamb, ordered medium rare, was cooked perfectly and had amazing flavor. And the vegetables that accompanied it were well cooked and seasoned– letting the flavors compliment each other rather than overpower. My brother devoured his.
We skipped dessert, but the options were definitely tempting. Chocolate Chip Baklava? Sounds delish!
The only thing that I might mention is that our server seemed a little unsure of herself, especially when fielding questions about bar options. She may have been new, though, and finding her footing when it comes to knowing the menu and bar very well. And it didn’t affect our experience so much that we counted it poorly against the restaurant.

The place is small but so beautiful. The food is delicious, and the service is excellent!

I discovered this place thanks to Unilocal.We had not reservations and were a rather large group that just wrapped up a day of training. The folks here were so accommodating and friendly. Family owned and ran with what I would say was pretty authentic Greek food. Though, I am not Greek but I have had my fair share of bad Greek in my time. The entrees here are large so you might be able to get away with ordering a decent appetizer and splitting a dish. Being that we were here for business and had no access to a stove or an oven to warm up our food I ended up leaving my left overs which I really dislike wasting food and left overs are a life saver.
Oh, the bar here is on point! If someone can make a good Nigroni, I am a fan!
The ambiance is nice. Lowly lit and it does have that romantic sexy vibe so you can bring your Tinder date or your loved one and get points for bringing them to such an awesome place!

and octopus as apps. Entrees was Chilean sea bass special with champagne risotto and the soft shell crabs ! Highly recommend all our choices.

We had lunch here I can’t imagine what dinner is like. We had THE BEST octopus I have had to date. Grilled and melt in your mouth. The olive oil the typical Greek salad of cucumbers tomato kalamatas feta, man it was good.
Service was excellent too friendly and professional.
Next time I’m going for dinner without a doubt. You gotta go.

Best Greek cuisine I’ve ever had! And better yet, it’s located right in my town.
Came here for a weekday lunch for the lunch specials. We had the greek meatballs and souvlaki. Both were really good. I loved how they give greek bread with olive oil for starter.

Wow. The décor, food and service is superb.
We had the octopus for an appetizer. This dish goes right up there with one of the best dishes that I’ve eaten out. We tried the trio of spreads– all were tasty. For my entrée, I had the gyro platter for lunch. Gyro meat was excellent, the tzsasiki sauce was unreal and the fries were excellent. I took home enough food to eat another meal. The final great piece were the cookies for dessert that were delicious. My father in law was unsure about the wine he wanted and they brought him a generous taste– nice touch.
This is an excellent restaurant. I HIGHLY recommend dining here.

This was my second visit to Taverna Mykonos for a firm tax season dinner. Their service is gracious, food is good, and is served with a nice side of ambiance.
We chose from their group menu which serves the appetizers family style and the entrees individually.
Appetizers: assorted dips, fried zucchini & eggplant chips, greek salad– all very good
Entrees: I had the chicken souvlaki –juicy and delicious. My friend loved her lamb gyro.
Dessert: the baklava was good but could have had more honey-​nicely presented.
Overall, Taverna Mykonos is a good stop for Greek cuisine.

I don’t live in the area so when I searched top restaurants and this one came up I figured I would give it a try, and it did not disappoint! This place was authentic Greek cuisine, and everything was delicious!
The Mediterranean spreads were out of this world with the homemade pitas. It is hard to decide which one to try so they offer a special of your choice of three (highly recommended). The place was a little on the pricey side but the portions were fantastic and so was the food. It’s a must try!
