My painter recommended Polay’s Home Décor to me when I was redoing my kitchen. As soon as I met Michelle, we hit it off. She is very talented, easy to work with and has great ideas. Not only did she help me with the draperies in several rooms, she helped me with my painting, accessories and furniture. I have gone back to use her services on several occasions and continually recommend her to friends and colleagues.
Polay’s has a new location and it is amazing. If you are looking for a great designer, I would call Michelle!

My wife and I worked with Michelle Polay from the beginning stages of having our house built up until the furnishing and decorating process. She understood our vision and enhanced it with her own great ideas along the way.
When we first set out to hire a decorator I was afraid they would try inserting their own taste or push a style we didn’t like, but with Michelle that never happened. Of course, there were times where I wanted a particular look, and she gently made it clear that «it doesn’t work.» Moreover, she gave very thoughtful logical reasoning on why it doesn’t work, which I would then understand and agree with her. So thankful that she stopped us in those instances!
Overall, our ideas and vision were supported and enhanced. She definitely knows what she is doing. Little tricks here and there that make a world of difference. Although Michelle can get very busy, she would always try and squeeze us in somewhere. Due to building process I was forced to make some quick decisions and I could always count on her to get her opinion in time. She gave us as much autonomy as we wanted and guided us when we were clueless. Not only did she have great ideas, she had contractors that she works with and trusts to do the work. Aside from her design skills, Michelle is super nice, friendly and fun! Best of all we felt that, for her time and expertise, she was quite a bargain!

Polay’s is such a great place for all your home décor needs. Michelle Polay has been helping us decorate our home over the past 2 years and she does an amazing job! Every time someone comes into my home they rave about my dinning room and I have to admit that it was all Michelle. She is really great about helping you select the difficult items too such as wall paper and custom window treatments. LOVE POLAY’S!

Oh how I wish Polay’s was a city dweller. Such a shame for the rest of you it’s all the way in Elmhurst, but lucky me it’s right down the street from my office.
Polay’s is an adorable little shop jam packed with tons of awesome and unique home décor items. All of these accessories are right up my alley and I do the audible ooooh and ahhhh as one thing is more fabulous than the next. Lots of wrought iron wall pieces (think: fleur de lis and scroll work), black lacquer lamps, tassels, frames, apothecary jars, the list goes on…
Polay’s also specializes in fantastic custom drapery, valances and linens. There is a small sampling in-​store but most everything is done consultation style with their designers through color and swatch books.
It may not be ideal that Polay’s isn’t in Chicago, but what is fantastic is that the prices reflect that… everything is very reasonable for the quality and style you get. Your favorite item may not come as cheap as a ride on the Metra, but the Elmhurst stop is right in front of the store so it doesn’t get much easier than that.
